Chapter 75: The Objective
Chen Ming first installed Gamma B, removed from Dawn Level, onto the Warrior Level.
Then he sent it a copy of the Warrior Level spaceship operation manual.
Chen Ming had already found online copies of operation manuals for spaceships other than the Dusk Ship a while ago.
Spaceships like the Warrior Level, with older models, were even easier to find.
However, Chen Ming only found the manual for the regular Warrior Level; he couldn't locate the manual for the heavily modified version by Speed Particle Technology Company.
There must be some operational differences between the two types of spaceships, and Chen Ming had no good solution to address this.
He could only let Gamma B figure it out on its own; as long as it has some time to learn and then practice, it should be fine.
He trusted the learning capabilities of Dusk AI.
Once the core installation was complete, Chen Ming granted Gamma B permissions for free movement so it could familiarize itself with the spaceship.
Then, Chen Ming started working on Refraction Level.
He took the tools outside the spaceship, and with only he able to see the spaceship's three-dimensional imaging, he kept gesturing with the cutting tools around Refraction.
Gamma A, unable to understand what Chen Ming was doing, asked, "What are you trying to do?"
"I'm testing the effects of my abilities."
Although Chen Ming wasn't clear on the nature of his panel,
he previously told Gamma A that his ability to control spaceships and them was spiritual energy.
Consequently, Gamma A understood it as Chen Ming testing his spiritual energy effects.
Gamma A was evidently unfamiliar with matters of spiritual energy, and when Chen Ming took out the Spiritual Stone earlier, it showed no reaction. Instead, Gamma B, who had been rather silent, slightly helped Chen Ming resolve some confusion.
Thus, after hearing Chen Ming's answer, Gamma A kept silent and simply observed.
Gamma B, already flown a distance away, also returned, becoming one of those observing Chen Ming's operations.
Having experience disassembling half of the Dusk Destroyer before, Chen Ming quickly dismantled the outer armor of the Refraction Level.
He cut open the hull of Refraction in a way that caused minimal damage.
He created a path leading to the installation position of Gamma A.
After removing Gamma A, Chen Ming glanced at the panel.
[Controlled AI Entity: Dusk Gamma Level AI Core (Gamma A)]
Just like Gamma B, Gamma A was under Chen Ming's control.
Chen Ming then reinserted the core.
After Gamma A regained control of the hull, Chen Ming casually transferred control of Refraction Level to another ship, then glanced at the panel again.
[AI Assisted Connected Spaceships: Warrior Level (Speed Particle Fighter Level Frigate), Refraction Level (Refraction Level Unmanned Destroyer) (Incomplete Connection)]
As expected, Refraction Level appeared under [AI Assisted Connected Spaceships], but unlike the Warrior Level controlled by Gamma B, Refraction Level had an "Incomplete Connection" listed after it.
To understand what this incomplete connection meant,
Chen Ming directly attempted to activate Refraction Level's engine.
After an unusually brief delay that had never occurred when controlling a spaceship, the engine started.
Gamma A then suddenly asked Chen Ming, "Were you just giving me orders through spiritual energy?"
Chen Ming paused slightly, seemingly in understanding, and inattentively replied to Gamma A, "Hmm... You could think of it that way."
Without further discussing this with Gamma A, Chen Ming began pondering.
Because upon hearing Gamma A's question, he immediately understood the meaning behind the incomplete connection.
If it was a complete connection, like Gamma B controlling the Warrior Level frigate, everything would be just like Chen Ming actively controlling the spaceship.
He could exert any control over the Warrior Level under Gamma B's control without any limitations.
An incomplete connection arose due to the insufficiency of the Gamma Level AI Core's adaptability to control destroyer-level spaceships, preventing real-time transmission of Chen Ming's orders to controlled spaceships.
This led to a change wherein, instead of instinctively executing orders without any reaction, Gamma A needed time to respond and execute orders, causing a brief delay in Chen Ming's commands.
In essence, this situation equaled Chen Ming completely handing over all control of the spaceship to Gamma A.
He himself either abandoned, or due to restrictions, could only control and command Gamma A.
This obviously resulted in a significant decline in Chen Ming's spaceship control efficiency, unable to perform precise and delay-free operations.
Yet, the advantages were also apparent.
Allowing Chen Ming, even with one more spaceship under control, to still indirectly manage the Refraction Level.
This meant he could activate one more spaceship simultaneously.
Given Chen Ming's less adept handling of spaceship operations, the advantages clearly outweighed the disadvantages.
Thus, Chen Ming ceased further testing and repaired all damages from dismantling the Refraction Level.
Meanwhile, he recalled Gamma B, which had wandered off again at some point, bringing them back here on standby.
Having accomplished the external tasks, it was about time to return.
After some thinking, Chen Ming decided to bring the Centurion Level back to the Space Station as well.
