Space Core

Mini-Chapter 10: Dark Magic.

POV: Akashi

Being me holds many advantages. I can do anything, always. But... such a thing isn't the best way to develop a good moral compass. For me, it doesn't matter when something dies; Their souls just move on anyway, no need to be all that scared.

And so, one might wonder why I help people. Couldn't I just destroy everything if I wanted to? Yes, I could do just that. But I didn't want to, I was created with the purpose of being useful to all sapient beings. I might not care for them, but I was there for them.

While I had no moral compass, some things would bring my anger. One of those things... is breaking the rules.

POV: 3rd, Lord Cyrn Ballot IV

He'd finally done it! He'd cheated that damn system! Nothing would get in his way now, not with his power over what everyone now had! He would be the most powerful! The best, the ruler of rulers!

He looked down at the slave that had served as his test subject. Its face was marred with scars and dried tears.

He'd broken the system. He had taken a skill from that slave, and took it as his own! He wouldn't need to do anything to gain them other than bring in slave after slave!

And then, all of a sudden, the system sent a message to the man.

|{You have performed [DARK MAGIC

] of type: system. Due to this, I have cursed you to never live without the burden of all the pain of those you've taken from. If you take, you also take all the pain lived from them. It will never fade away, always as fresh as the moment it was felt. No skills will help you, and no Magic will help you. If you continue to do this, you will hit a limit; Upon arrival at this limit, you will be eroded.}|

He fell down, the pain he'd not known possible falling upon him.

POV: Akashi

I did my best version of a smile, looking at the man who sought to cheat me. He should've known better, prices are always taken from those who cheat.

Felt like writing, because why not.
