Sovereign of the Ashes

Chapter 1288: Tag Along

Thor turned out to be quite a talkative deity. He chatted with Sein about all sorts of things.

When Sein expressed his surprise that Thor had managed to purchase a top-tier space fortress from the Capiche Business Alliance, the Thunder God merely explained that he carried some Magus World bloodline.

"I see. No wonder you feel so unique to me," Sein said with a nod of understanding.

Sein was not the type to strike up conversations easily, but Thor's wealth and the world‑class secret treasure he wielded made him curious enough to talk more than usual.

It turned out that Thor was also heading to the Howling Stone Demiplane for the 25th Magus Alliance Conference, and the fortress he had purchased was a recent reward from his father.

According to Thor, he had apparently defeated a well-known deity from Titan World in direct combat.

Sein knew little about the deities and pantheons of Titan World, but considering Thor was a formidable Rank Five powerhouse, he wondered if the Thunder God had defeated a Rank Six being.

What surprised him even more during their conversation was learning that, despite his incredible strength, Thor had never personally led an interplanar war.

Now, with his newly purchased space fortress, he would finally be able to command an army and experience the thrill of war firsthand.

This was clearly a violent, battle‑loving individual.

Sein shared some of his own interplanar war experiences, which left Thor deeply impressed.

When Sein asked why he had never honed his skills in war, Thor's face flushed slightly as he admitted he had an overbearing older sister.

As the two continued chatting, Sein's space fortress paperwork was finally completed.

"Azure Starbane? Why not change its name? I renamed mine toThunderer," Thor said, pointing at the massive fortress behind him.

"Because my fortress isn't complete yet; it still needs modifications,"Sein replied via mental focus, then accepted the law‑imbued scroll handed to him by Schlesyn.

"The Capiche Business Alliance will transport your fortress to the public starport outside the plane. Master Sein, you should train a group of mages who can operate it skillfully as soon as you can," Schlesyn suggested.

"Of course, we also have specialized piloting teams capable of fully operating this model," he added.

"Alright. I'll hire a team from the Capiche Business Alliance to help my divine tower mages quickly master the control systems," Sein replied.

Schlesyn smiled and nodded, then looked behind Sein.

Another Rank Five mage from the Capiche Business Alliance had also finished preparing the contract for Thor's space fortress and handed him the law‑imbued scroll.

Thor looked a little overwhelmed by the complex terms written on it.

Scratching his head with thick fingers, he then used his hammer to stamp a thunder mark on the contract as his signature.

With the transaction complete, Sein and Schlesyn bowed respectfully to each other in farewell. Sein still needed to head to Steel City to take care of a few other matters.

Thor called out to Sein, expressing interest in the modifications planned for his space fortress and asking if he could tag along.

Thor favored violent solutions to problems and was fascinated by anything with destructive potential.

Though he claimed he had never led an interplanar war, he had actually secretly participated in numerous wars.

His older sister had scolded him more than once for it, even accusing him of being a bad influence on his younger brother.

The irony was that Thor's belligerence and thirst for excitement had all been influenced by that very sister.

Growing up under her shadow, Thor had long yearned to stand on his own.

Though he had never been fond of complex thinking and preferred to solve problems with force, Thor actually had a sensitive heart.

Anything unfamiliar that involved combat would always catch his interest.

After giving Thor a quick once‑over and considering his own curiosity about Titan World, Sein agreed to let him come along.

After leaving the Capiche Business Alliance, Sein headed straight for Steel City.

He did not expect the rough‑looking Thor to be such a chatterbox.

Along the way, Thor eagerly introduced him to many aspects of Titan World. He talked about the Mountain of Gods, the Pantheon, Mount Olympus, the Underworld, and more.

As the top allied plane within the Magus Alliance, Titan World seemed to far surpass Faeloria in depth and scale.

Due to its unique plane laws, Faeloria had nearly two thousand native deities.

Similarly, Titan World had around two thousand creatures of Rank Four or higher.

The difference was that Titan World's deities were generally more powerful and had no strange classifications like "wielders of weak power".

Thor was not the only one doing the talking. Sein also shared brief accounts of the many planes he had visited throughout his growth.

However, Thor showed little interest in the civilizations and cultural landscapes of those planes. He was only interested in the battles Sein had fought.

At one point, he noticed the two Rank Four divine relics mounted on the tip of Sein's magic rod.

When Sein mentioned he had acquired them back at Rank Three, Thor gave him a thumbs‑up without a trace of doubt.

Sein spent less time in Steel City than he had at the Capiche Business Alliance.

For 5,610,000 magicoins, he hired a magitech factory to modify the space fortress he had just purchased.

Modifying a space fortress took considerable time, and Steel City promised to deliver it within a hundred and fifty years.

"Our modification orders have piled up in recent years. Not only customers from the Magus World, but many foreign gods of the Magus Alliance have placed orders with us as well," explained a Rank Four mechanic from the factory.

"No worries. A hundred and fifty years is not too long. It seems I'll be able to use my new fortress after the alliance's conference," Sein replied.

"Yes. We'll compensate you if there's any delay in delivery," the mechanic said with a sigh of relief.

Besides modifying the space fortress, Sein also ordered several war machines, including two prism forts.

Among them was a one-seater Combat Mechanical Hornet, a popular Steel City product in recent years.

It could be operated by either knights or mages, or even function in unmanned mode.

More importantly, it came with avery attractiveprice tag.

It was no wonder Steel City had been challenging the Capiche Business Alliance's market dominance in recent years and had already captured a significant share of the low‑end market.
