Chapter 1257: Wealth Law
Aurelia, the Goddess of Wealth, heard every word of their conversation.
Fortunately, the Dark Elf Queen had already led her subjects to the underground space of Ashenreach to consolidate the factions there.
Otherwise, the Spider Queen's divine authority in the hearts of her followers might have taken a serious hit.
At that moment, Aurelia stared at Sein in shock. She could not understand how he could speak to Lorthisra like that.
None of the other Rank Four or higher beings in Blackhaven had ever dared to act this way.
Even though the Spider Queen looked angry after Sein teased her, she did not take it to heart.
After all, this guy had always been fearless since they first met.
He had even publicly commented on the Spider Queen's statue at the time.
In a way, Sein's behavior could be seen as a form of praise for the Spider Queen's beauty.
In Blackhaven, most creatures treated her with nothing but fear and reverence. Who would dare to compliment her appearance so openly?
Truthfully, the Spider Queen had never been satisfied with her own looks, especially her original spider form.
That dissatisfaction had even caused her to harbor some resentment toward her biological father, who was responsible for her mixed bloodline.
Still, those thoughts were buried deep in the Spider Queen's heart. Even her adoptive father did not know about them.
Sein's lingering gaze on the Spider Queen's pale legs made her toes curl involuntarily.
She subtly shifted her posture, giving Aurelia—who had been kneeling on the ground—room to finally stand.
She gave Aurelia's ample chest a kick with her translucent crystal heel and said, "This one's yours. It's just a divine clone. Even if you break it, it doesn't matter."
"Also, you need to develop as fast as possible. A basic, newly built Rank Four divine tower is not going to be much help to me in the coming civilization war," she added with a slight frown.
"I want to, but right now... I'm a bit short on funds," Sein admitted, extending his hand toward the Spider Queen.
Honestly, he had not planned on borrowing money from her.
But after seeing just how useful a space fortress had been in the recent interplanar war and remembering his debt of over ten million magicoins, he changed his mind.
"How much do you need?" the Spider Queen asked, raising an eyebrow.
Sein's divine tower had a loan that had been mostly offset by the proceeds from the White Sand World War. After repaying that, he still had a few million left to pay off.
Purchasing the latest model of a standard space fortress would cost at least tens of millions.
Since Sein's plans for expanding and developing his divine tower could not move forward without money, and his various experimental research projects also needed funding... he decided to ask the Spider Queen for thirty million magicoins.
"Thirty million?! Such audacity." The Spider Queen sneered at him. Even though she was well-established in Blackhaven, that region was notoriously poor.
Most of the Spider Queen's wealth actually came from her adoptive father, and she could not spend it however she wanted.
Faced with Sein's outrageous request, the Spider Queen snorted coldly.
"I just poured a bunch of funds into Caelzas, the Blood Elf King, so I don't have much to spare right now. One million magicoins is the most I can lend you."
"No problem!" Sein nodded quickly.
One million magicoins were more than enough for him to get a lot done.
"You'll need to give me a promissory note." The Spider Queen reminded him with a frown.
That was the price Sein had to pay for making such an outrageous demand earlier.
"A promissory note? I might as well borrow from the Magus Alliance!" Sein rolled his eyes.
"Aside from the basic divine tower loans, every loan from the Magus Alliance comes with interest. The rate might be low, but it still adds up. If you want to borrow from them, go ahead," the Spider Queen said with a chuckle.
With that, she made it clear that her loan would be interest-free, but Sein would still have to pay it back eventually!
Sein nodded with a sigh and accepted the Spider Queen's offer.
After chatting with her a while longer, the Spider Queen finally withdrew her divine power projection.
Sein then turned his attention to the Goddess of Wealth, Aurelia.
The Spider Queen did not actually value Aurelia herself all that much.
What she truly cared about was Aurelia's help in corrupting Faeloria.
As for her unique ability to gather wealth, that was just a bonus that came along with enslaving her.
The reason the Spider Queen acted this way was because she had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth and had never lacked resources.
Although her adoptive father often pushed her to improve, he never limited her access to anything she needed.
Unlike the Spider Queen, Sein was really broke right now!
The White Sand World War had earned him a decent profit, but it also made him even more obsessed with wealth.
In the Magus World, or rather across the entire Astral Realm, personal strength and wealth were tightly linked.
After circling Aurelia a few times, Sein gave her a thorough once-over, studying her from head to toe.
The aura of wealth laws radiating from her was undoubtedly one of the most unique and rare law types he had ever encountered.
The last time he had seen something so distinct was the "law of gambling" he came across in Reyno Star City.
"If I asked you to help me make money, what would you do?" Sein asked, stroking his chin as he tested the Goddess of Wealth.
Compared to how timid she had been in front of Lorthisra, she now felt much more at ease. Maybe it was because Sein's life level was lower than hers, or maybe his earlier exchange with Lorthisra had changed the way she saw him.
The Goddess of Wealth gradually straightened her back and said, "I heard you still owe the Magus Alliance a massive debt?"
Sein nodded. "Yes, around ten million."
Thankfully, he had secured enough funding before building his divine tower. Otherwise, his debt would be even worse.
The main issue had been the steep cost of building the Divine Tower of Ashes. Most Rank Four mages did not construct their divine towers in three phases like Sein did.
"I suggest you don't rush to repay that debt," Aurelia said. "That includes the funds Lady Lorthisra is about to send you. You should entrust all of it to me for management!"
Maybe because it was her area of expertise, Aurelia spoke with more confidence than before.
"All of it to you? Do you even know how much it is?" Sein asked, looking at her in disbelief.
Aurelia had been managing part of Lorthisra's assets for a while now.
She also held a deep respect for the sheer power and economic influence of the Magus Alliance.
It was precisely because she understood these things that the Faelorian goddess had begun to form new ideas, even though her true body was still trapped in the lowest level of Infernal Purgatory.
"Of course. And I can at least double your assets within a thousand years!" Aurelia said.
Sein stared at her for a long moment. Seeing how certain she looked, he finally gave a hesitant nod.
