NOVEL NEXT Chapter 62: blitz
I watched as dark-swarm flooded through the tunnel trying to think of a way to stop them those that were able too got into there positions to engage the enemy use cannons and muskets " please work don't fail me now" I whispered as I got an idea
Closing my eyes I made a image in my mind of what i wanted to happen as I raised my hand above near the ceiling a giant magic circle appeared slowly turning as mana was gathered to it forming small balls of fire as they got brighter so to did the heat given off by them even making the space around them distort
With a yank of my arm the spheres of fire shot towards the on coming sea of dark-swarm Before the spheres even got close the swarm started to burn and the ground began to melt when the collision finally happened any dark-swarm touched got disintegrated from where they were hit
As the spheres reached the entrance to the tunnel they collided with each other forming a black hole any that were missed by the spheres started getting pulled in by the black hole and stretched apart this went on for a few more seconds until pain shot all over my body as blood filled my mouth making me cough ' fuck my body can't handle it'
When the black hole disappeared everything was calm once again " are you alright " Elise asked noticing me hunched over with blood coming out my mouth looking up I saw dark-swarm flood through the tunnel once again groaning in pain I spit out the blood annoying me" yeah I'll hold a line by time for the other wardens to recover " Elise went to stop me but I was already gone " roak, dreksl form a squad get the breacka and help him" xada order after seeing me leave
Standing in the open as the dark-swarm flooded towards me I took a deep breath getting ready for the battle ahead of me darkness twisted around me while a big pitch black wolf came out of it looking at shadow i pet his half mist half fur body " thanks let's go" I said channeling lightning into me and my staff before taking off
Shadow disappeared once again as the darkness changed shape into many long whip like weapons as I closed in I noticed the dark-swarm were moving more erratic then usual ignoring it I asked shadow to ground them up
Four tendrils on both sides of me extended growing bigger as they went materializing right before smack into the army forcing them to bunch up suddenly stopping I twisted my body switching my staff to a sword slashing out with all my strength the blade infused with my elements cut threw space in front of it killing a couple dozen in front of the hoard " damn still not strong enough "
Switch back to my staff I continued towards the hoard spitting out another round of blood right before the clash with the hoard I closed my eyes making a black and red crescent-moon appear on my forehead 'I'll make you regret using my power one day ' stomping my foot a line of sharp obsidian spikes popped out the ground behind me
" come at me you insect looking bastards" I yelled trying to draw their attention towards me as I slashed and bashed doing what I can to stop them from passing me those that did were torn-apart by shadow or shot down thanks to James ahead of me cannon balls and spears of ice started raining down onto to the dark-swarm killing or staggering them
Even with all this it didn't take long for them to rush pass me in a frenzy towards the wall as I was blocking a swipe from a rocker I couldn't dodge but before the hoard could flood over the spikes a line of creature's appeared ramming into the dark-swarm shattering their armor easily " hold strong don't let any pass " I heard roak yell from atop one of the creatures that looked like a cross between a mountain goat and an dwarf horse honestly it was pretty cute if not for it's giant horns and gem like skin
The ground beneath their feet changed shape to help them move about freely in any direction ' those things are neat ' I thought as a small group came over on their mounts slamming into the rocker that had me pinned one after the other knocking it over quickly swinging my staff I smashed its head before it could get up
The wardens who helped me were already gone before I could thank them shaking my head i took a moment to catch my breath and look around a good number of wardens came to help me on their creatures causing a stalemate the dark-swarm couldn't advance any further ' we got this ' I thought getting back into the fight in the back of my head I heard laughter giving me a bad feeling
for a while the stalemate stood it even started to look like we were pushing them back at least until another roar shook the cavern much closer this time a few seconds later the tunnel exploded open as a dark green fog flooded the battlefield
thinking quickly I gathered my element and pushed all the wardens and their mounts back towards the wall out of the fogs range while they were stunned satisfied that I got everyone I went to teleport but the green fog already reached me trying to ignore it I focused on teleporting but realized I couldn't " fuck is the fog doing this " I said subconscious then realized I probably shouldn't breath
" this will be your end you damn creation " I heard a voice so strong it vibrated my bones turning around quickly i saw a giant claw come flying at me too fast for me to dodge the only reason I wasn't impaled was thanks to shadow blocking it the force still sent me flying back towards the wall and out the fog rolling on the ground
When I tried to get up I couldn't my limbs started shaking making me fall onto my back shadow hopped out of the darkness and started dragging me towards the wall while limping ' damn I knew it was poison 'slowly a decaying dragon came out of the fog with the army of dark-swarm not far behind obscured by the fog only their glowing yellow eye could be seen
" leave me get to Elise keep her safe " i said as the cannons started firing on the dragon not doing much shadow shook his in defiance continuing to drag me " please I'm not sure what will happen when I change " after a pause shadow finally turned into darkness making his way towards the wall
Now annoyed the dragon went to attack me
" leave him alone " I heard Elise yell followed by a bright flash blinding me before I could transform when my vision came back I saw a beautiful white and cyan dragon standing over me who's scales gave of a pink hue at the right angle " what...where did this one come from " it was until I looked into it's eye and felt our connection did I realize it was Elise She unfolded her four wings an let out a furious roar
the ground around us started to frost over and each breath i took became visible the decaying dragon was shocked before becoming more angry " your not her but I'll happily parade your corpse to her for locking me down here " the dark-swarm army suddenly started attacking again but this time their target was Elise turning her slim dragon head she looked down at me making sure I was alright her eyes have become even more vibrant in this form sending a tingle down my spine
I would have gave her a thumb up but I was paralyzed and probably slowly dying " I'm fine kick their ass " a bit of blood dripped out while I talked without me realizing seeing this Elise let out another furious roar as ice armor covered her head to tail making the space around freeze like there was a invisible blizzard the dark-swarm that got too close froze instantly
Angry the dragon let out another breath attack but the gas couldn't get close to us this time Elise spread her wings as a bunch of ice spikes formed around her with water spinning fast around the tips with a flap of her wings the spikes flew towards the decaying dragon piercing it's body but it didn't faze him much
Suddenly a giant tendril of darkness shot out the ground wrapping itself around the dragons decayed body slamming it down Elise reared up conjuring a ice-spear into her front right leg using the opportunity shadow gave her to impale her spear in-between the dragons exposed rip cage pinning it to the ground using her other leg she slammed it's head down
" this won't be the end my revenge come one day and destroy you all " the dragon said as it struggled to gather the strength to break free ignoring it Elise bit down on its neck causing it to start freezing
with a strong snap of her jaws the dragons head was severed fall to the ground lifeless after countless centuries of madness the dark-swarm around also fell like puppets having their strings cut turning towards me as shards of the dragon's neck fell from her mouth she came towards me leaning down searching me with her big eyes making sure I didn't get hurt
" your gorgeous " I managed to say before my mind started to fade the last thing I saw was a naked Elise running too me
