Souls Online: Mythic Ascension

Chapter 359: Me?

"Excuse me? How the hell am I a Singularity? I don't even know what that means or how I can even become one in the first place." Leo shot back with a growl.

The other Gods who had been paying attention to the others all turned their heads to face Leo. The looks were varying from interest, disdain and even some were showing slight signs of fear.

Phanmorra shook their head as if the question itself was laughable.

"You can't become a Singularity in that sense. You are either born one or you are not one."

The phantom version of Morgan then pointed again at Leo and boldly declared "In every single reality, Every single world, every single Timeline, Only one version of you exists!"

Luna frowned in confusion. That made no sense to her. He was her brother. She wasn't going to tolerate anyone saying anything bad about him, even if she didn't understand what that meant.

Just as Luna opened her mouth to speak, a firm hand pressed against her shoulder, stopping her mid-word. She froze, eyes widening.

The War God stood behind her, impossibly tall and imposing, yet somehow dressed in a brightly colored Hawaiian shirt. His snow-white hair framed his face, and his ruby-red eyes locked onto hers, mirroring her own. His expression was serious, unreadable, and completely at odds with the casual shirt.

"Don't do anything yet," he said quietly, his voice low and steady, meant for her alone. "You need to hear this. It was bound to be told to you one day, one way or another. Better to hear it here."

Luna's hand twitched at her side, confusion and apprehension mixing across her face. She could feel the weight of his gaze, the intensity in his eyes anchoring her where she stood. He did not let go of her shoulder, and she could sense the unspoken authority behind his words.

For a moment, she didn't know what to say. Every instinct screamed at her to react, to argue or question, but the firmness in his posture and the quiet command in his voice kept her frozen.

Leo glanced at her, then at the War God, sensing something he couldn't yet understand. Rachel tilted her head, a flicker of curiosity in her expression, but she stayed quiet. Even the phantom Morgan paused, a faint trace of caution crossing their features.

The War God's voice softened just slightly, still only for her. "What they are about to tell you matters. Not just for you, but for him… for all of you. Wait. Listen. Only then act."

Luna's breath caught, and she nodded almost imperceptibly, her mind racing but held in place by the weight of his hand and the sharp clarity in his eyes.

Phanmorra then looked around the room before speaking once more.

"This Singularity's mere existence has thrown the course of this reality off track. They have by their own hand placed the world into an uncharted path that may lead to the end of all life in every reality."

Discordia didn't even flinch at those words while everyone felt a heavy chill press down on their spines.

Leo's fists clenched at his sides, a low growl vibrating in his chest. "End of all life? You're talking like I'm some kind of harbinger or something," he spat, his eyes darting between the phantom Morgan and Phanmorra.

Phanmorra's gaze remained steady, almost bored, as if Leo's anger were nothing more than a minor irritation. "You do not understand the weight of your existence," they said simply. "It is not a matter of choice. It is a matter of consequence. Every action you take ripples across every timeline, every world, every reality. A Singularity does not merely live, it shapes, alters and defies fate."

Discordia took a single step towards Phantorra, her smile growing slightly wider but the air around her getting colder with each passing second.

"I don't doubt the veracity of your words. Not in the slightest. As illusions are but paths that exist but have not been tread. However, do tell me what the original fate of this world was supposed to be without the existence of this child?"

She motioned with her hand to Leo and he could tell by her surrounding aura that she was angry. Very angry. Phanmorra seemed to sense it too and pursed their lips briefly and didn't speak for the longest time.

It then lowered their head and mumbled something that nobody could quite hear except for Morgan whose beautiful face went aghast.

"Speak up. Nobody could hear you." Discordia said in a cold commanding tone, the void around her rippling as if it would tear at any second. Everyone around the table could feel the immense power bubbling up within Diiscordia's relatively petite frame.

Phanmorra slowly raised their head and repeated what they had said in a louder voice but the answer made every human in that place shiver.

"Extinction."

The word echoed like a death knell. Silence fell over the chamber, heavy and suffocating. The air itself seemed to tighten, wrapping around the lungs of every mortal present and refusing to let go.

Luna's heart lurched, her throat tightening. She turned her gaze toward Leo, searching his face for some reassurance, but all she saw was raw shock. His knuckles were white from how tightly his fists were clenched, the rage inside him barely restrained.

Rachel shifted on her feet, her usual restless energy gone. "Extinction," she whispered under her breath, the word tasting foreign and bitter on her tongue.

The phantom Morgan's eyes flicked briefly to Leo, then away, her lips pressing into a thin line. Whatever she had expected to hear, it had not been this.

Discordia's smile remained, but it had become something sharp and cruel. The shadows at her feet writhed and twisted, responding to the spike of her fury. "So that is the truth," she said in a voice that dripped with venom. "This world was never meant to endure. It was written to die."

Phanmorra's expression did not change, though the faintest hint of discomfort passed across their features. "Yes," they said evenly. "Without the Singularity, the natural conclusion of this world was annihilation. A clean erasure, a return to nothing. That was the destined path."

Leo stepped forward, his voice breaking the silence like a thunderclap. "So you're saying I ruined your script? That because I exist, because I breathe, because I fight, I've broken the path to extinction?" His voice carried both fury and disbelief.
