Soul World: Zynith

Chapter 17: Others

Meeting Hall.

Sitting across the table were several individuals. To my left was Eldric, idly spinning his daggers.

To my right sat Aziza gently holding a doll in her lap.

Directly in front of me was a captivating girl with striking green hair and almond-shaped eyes. The depth and intensity of her green irises hinted at a profound reservoir of knowledge.

Her face was delicately sculpted, radiating an air of calm intelligence. Her long hair cascaded down her slender white neck, accentuating her elegant presence.

She wore a black shirt adorned with a whimsical cartoon design, adding a playful touch to her overall appearance.

Seated before her, she continuously touched the nock of an arrow, while a sleek bow rested on the table in front of her.

The only Archer I could think of on top of my head should be Valeria Skadi, from her visible weapon and attire, I assume that she must be Valeria Skadi.

As my gaze swept away, I took a peek at the man besides Aziza. He had short black hair with bangs covering his eyes and a mask on the side of his hair.

With his eyes closed, It was unclear if he was thinking of something or just sleeping. He had a round face featuring a mole beneath his mouth.

If looks could be rated from 0/100, I would rate his appearance with a 92/100.

Hugging two pairs of swords on his chest, he wears a long, slim black trench coat designed with a golden dragon around it. Underneath was a white shirt with a necklace featuring a copper coin.

'A mask and pairs of swords, so that must be Moren,' I silently nodded inwardly, trying to remember each member's name and appearance from the short descriptions Eldric had given me before.

Sitting in front of Moren is a captivating girl with vibrant sky-blue hair, elegantly held in place by a hair clip that delicately tucks her bangs behind her ears.

She possesses almond-shaped eyes, with her left eye showcasing a captivating blue iris, while her right eye showcases a striking red iris.

Her face is gracefully oval-shaped, accentuated by a straight nose that adds to her allure. A delicate mole adorns the area near her right eye, further enhancing her captivating beauty and adding a touch of uniqueness to her petite features.

She wears a stunning blue dress that gracefully drapes her slender body, highlighting her feminine curves and exuding an air of elegance.

In her hands, she holds a pen, displaying her meticulous nature as she carefully examines the notes spread out before the table.

My eyes locked on her figure, as I was completely captivated by her mesmerizing charm.

Damn.

'If I'm not mistaken, she must be the captain of the squad.'

Seraphina Durendal.

Eldric wasn't exaggerating when he described her as stunning; in fact, his words fell short.

Although some of my memories are a bit hazy and disorganized, Seraphina's appearance alone possesses the power to leave an indelible impact that is capable of charming an entire nation.

-Ahem~

'Right..'

'She isn't legal.'

'She is underage.'

'You'll get jailed.'

I silently muttered to myself, attempting to calm down, momentarily forgetting the fact that I was currently inhabiting a 16-year-old body.

With a forceful effort, I shift my gaze away and notice another girl beside Seraphina, who has been observing me intently.

Her hair is styled in a charming side ponytail, boasting a lovely brown hue. Her big, round black eyes and round face give her an endearing appearance, evoking a sense of cuteness from afar.

She gives off an impression of being approachable and easy to converse with, yet there's an unexpected air of coldness surrounding her.

A bracelet adorns her wrist, adding a subtle touch of elegance as she holds a book. She wears a black T-shirt featuring a whimsical cartoon skull design.

She blinks her eyes a couple of times, appearing momentarily lost in her thoughts.

Tilting my head to the side, I whispered to Eldric.

"Who is she?"

I ask, pointing discreetly towards the girl who is now engaged in a conversation with Seraphina.

Eldric pauses the idle spinning of his daggers, turning his head to follow my gesture.

After a brief moment of silence, he shifts his gaze back and forth between us.

-Cough.

"Um." Eldric almost choked on his words, struggling to find a proper way to introduce the girl I pointed out.

"You just need to know her as Riana," he replied, before creating a distance between us.

"..."

I cast a glance at Aziza, who continues to observe me with her big black eyes peeking through her bangs.

"..."

'Yeah, I don't think I'll find my answers from her.'

Internally shaking my head, I scan the surroundings, trying to find where is Lucian, and the girl named Alissa.

However, to my disappointment, it appears that neither of them is present.

The atmosphere in the room became strangely awkward, making it feel slightly suffocating.

-Phwwww..

Eldric lets out a low whistle, raising both of his hands and massaging his temples.

"Care to introduce yourself, newcomer?" Seraphina's cold, melodic voice cuts through the tension in the room.

Aziza raised one of her brows, as though she knew what would happen soon.

Moren opens one of his eyes, as he casts a glance in my direction, while carefully examining me from top to bottom.

Meanwhile, Valeria lifts her head, with her eyes locking into me, and shows a creepy smile that plays on her lips.

Seraphina continues to immerse herself in the notes spread out on the table, seemingly unfazed by the situation.

Riana solemnly holds a book in her hands, while she shifts her gaze intermittently between me and the pages of her book.

-Keum.

Clearing my throat, I carefully consider how I should respond.

'I suppose, I'll just give a normal and proper introduction of myself.'

"My name is Robin, %$$%#^$@."

'Huh?'

Why do I sound weird, I swear it didn't happen before with Scarlet.

I scratched my face awkwardly but before I continue and finish my sentence, a shadow abruptly materialized in front of me, moving with such speed that I had no chance to react.

-Boom.

The surroundings erupted into chaos in an instant, as a deafening noise echoed through my ear, accompanied by swirling dust and flying debris.

-*Cough*

-*Cough*

As the commotion settled down, I found myself faced with a large, ominous red number.

-1!

'Holy Shit!'

What happened?

Tilting my head downwards, I found myself in a position where a sword is perilously close to my neck, with its blade creating a small slit in my throat.

The sword appeared deadly, as it seemed to be capable of severing my neck in an instant. However, it is held firmly by a rough hand, which miraculously remains unharmed by the blade.

Cold sweat started to flow down my forehead, at the thought of the blade nearly separating my head.

'Damn, that was close.'

Why the hell do they become hostile instantly, after I spill out some weird sound?

Cursing inwardly on my future teammates. I turn my gaze to the side before I realize the precarious predicament I am in.

To my left, Lucian grips Moren's blade with its dexterous hand, as Moren looks menacingly enough to strike me down If I try to make an unnecessary movement.

Meanwhile, to my right, Aziza wields a colossal greatsword in a blocking stance, she fended off the incoming strike from Seraphina while also simultaneously blocking Valeria's arrows.

'How the hell are you able to block two incoming attacks from different directions to begin with.'

This goes to show that, although Aziza is a berserker class, she has a very high combat sense.

Usually when people like me who read dozens of novels in the past thought of a berserker, what comes to mind is brute, but this isn't the case for Aziza, then again it might be just me.

And behind me stands Eldric, brandishing his daggers, prepared to counter any magical attacks from Riana.

'...'

'...'

'...'

'...'

'...'

Silence heavily hangs in the air, as no one within the abyssal hunter squad withdraws their weapons.

-Creak..

Everyone within the room, glanced at the door, wondering who would come in the room at such a moment, especially when there was an internal battle going on.

Walking into the room, Scarlet fell in silence as she glanced around the surroundings, destroyed furniture, blade strikes that deeply impaled the walls, dust and debris all over the area.

Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves down, she walked in further, before the door behind her soon collapsed.

"..."

Scarlet's whole body trembled in rage, her usual black eyes soon turned ocean blue. Her typically gentle and relaxing demeanor underwent a chilling transformation, emanating an icy coldness that sent shivers down my spine.

From a distance, I could hear the distinct sound of Scarlet stretching her body, as bones crack through the silent room. She cast an indifferent gaze upon us accompanied by the unsettling sound of her cracking knuckles.

'Oh great, an enraged Scarlet'
