Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 197: Leaving Everyone Behind

Beneath a towering aura, the Ten Elders were immobilized.

Even, they were so pressured that they could barely breathe.

Was this truly the extent of Shiyi's power? The elders were all astonished.

Even the Great Elder, who had long known of Elder Yi's extraordinary strength, found it somewhat unbelievable at that moment.

He knew Elder Yi was powerful.

But he had never imagined that Elder Yi could be powerful to this extent.

That he could, with his aura alone, leave ten of them completely powerless to resist.

Step... step... step...

Elder Yi, with a steady aura, took steps toward Guu Changkong.

"Master..." Guu Changkong's face was a picture of despair as he looked towards the Sword Hall Elders for help.

The Sword Hall Elders couldn't move, and could only shout, "Shiyi, you cannot kill Changkong."

"Shiyi..." The elders also wanted to dissuade him.

"Hmph." Elder Yi snorted coldly.

Thump thump thump...

The Ten Elders were instantly struck, spitting blood as they were sent flying.

Crack, Elder Yi's hand, seized Guu Changkong's throat.

"Phew." The Great Elder and the others spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva.

"Shiyi, you cannot snuff out the last hope of the Sword Sect."

"If Changkong dies, how can you face the Sword Sect's ancestors?"

Elder Yi shouted angrily, "Now, it is they who have snuffed out the greatest hope of the Sword Sect."

"It is you who watched idly as a supreme genius fell, doing nothing."

"Even shielding and indulging."

"How can you, then, face the ancestors?"

Hearing this, the faces of the ten elders were filled with guilt.

Yet, the Great Elder still shouted, "What good is an apology?"

"Xiao Yi comprehended the Extreme Boundary Stele utterly, he was impressive."

"But he is already dead."

"Guu Changkong is now the only hope for the Sword Sect."

"How many more centuries do you want the Sword Master's position to remain vacant?"

"How much longer do you want to see the Sect Leader's position unfulfilled?"

Towards the end, the Great Elder seemed mad as he interrogated Elder Yi.

Elder Yi's expression changed, unsure of how to respond.

His grip on Guu Changkong's throat loosened slightly.

At that moment, Guu Changkong's face had already turned purple.

If Elder Yi had loosened his grip just a few seconds later, Guu Changkong would have undoubtedly died.

The elders' faces relaxed instantly.

"Shiyi, it's good that you've thought it through," the Great Elder said softly.

"Everything should prioritize the interests of the Sword Sect."

But, the next second, Elder Yi's hand suddenly tightened around Guu Changkong again.

He could have killed Guu Changkong with just a flick of his finger.

However, he didn't do so.

Instead, he swung his hand forcefully, sending Guu Changkong flying.

"Pfft." Guu Changkong eventually landed next to the Sword Hall Elder, spitting fresh blood on the ground.

Of course, for him, surviving Elder Yi's clutches was a stroke of great luck.

"Shiyi, we know you are someone who understands restraint..." The elders breathed a sigh of relief, expressing their gratitude.

However, Elder Yi coldly interrupted them.

"Do you think I spared him out of consideration for the Sword Sect?" Elder Yi's expression became indifferent again.

"I only know that my only disciple, Yi Tianxing, could not possibly die so easily," Elder Yi said confidently.

"I am saving Guu Changkong's life."

"Xiao Yi will personally come back to take it."

With that, Elder Yi's indifferent gaze no longer lingered on anyone or anything here, and he turned away to leave.

"The only disciple?" the Great Elder murmured, somewhat dazed.

He understood the significance of these two words; in Elder Yi's heart, now there was only Xiao Yi as his disciple.

No one else.

"Shiyi, where are you going?" the Great Elder quickly came back to his senses and asked as he watched Elder Yi leave.

Elder Yi did not answer.

His figure flashed on the spot and he was gone in a cloud of dust.

It was then that the overwhelming aura around them finally began to dissipate.

The ten elders, including Guu Changkong, stood up, still shaken.

"Madman," Guu Changkong muttered under his breath.

"Shut up. If it weren't for Shiyi's hopeful heart, you'd be long dead," the Great Elder chided.

"What do you mean?" asked the Third Elder in a deep voice.

The Great Elder sighed and said, "He didn't kill Changkong; he just wanted to keep the illusion that Xiao Yi was still alive."

"Forget it, let's disperse, and end the celebrations."

The Great Elder shook his head, preparing to leave.

"Wait," Lin Jin and his group stopped him.

"What else do you want?" the Great Elder asked with a frown of displeasure.

"The matter of Xiao Yi, you're just going to let it go?" Lin Jin clenched his teeth.

"Did you not understand what I just said?" the Great Elder frowned.

"The so-called concern for the Sword Sect, the so-called hope?" Lin Jin boldly countered the Great Elder's displeasure.

"Exactly," the Great Elder nodded.

"Nonsense!" Lin Jin burst in anger, "Murder demands life, it's only fair."

"No matter the reasons, they cannot outweigh my Brother Xiao Yi's life."

"Foolish children, what do you know," scolded the Sword Hall Elders.

"Leave immediately, or don't blame me for severely punishing you."

Seeing this, the Third Elder spoke, "Lin Jin, you should leave now, do not escalate matters further."

"Severe punishment? Escalate?" Lin Jin suddenly laughed.

"Hahahaha," he laughed unrestrainedly.

"Sky-splitting Sword Sect, such a fine Sky-splitting Sword Sect."

"On the surface, a Martial Arts Holy Land admired by all; behind the scenes, so disgraceful, not distinguishing right from wrong."

"I won't stay in such a Sword Sect," Lin Jin said angrily.

"Severe punishment?" Lin Jin scoffed, "Don't trouble yourselves, I'll disown myself from the Sword Sect."

"We're leaving too," Tie Niu hummed, and turned to leave.

"Presumptuous," the Sword Hall Elder shouted angrily.

"The Sky-splitting Sword Sect isn't a place you can come and go as you please."

"What do you think this place is?"

"Come here," the Sword Hall Elder waved his hand, "Seize these four unworthy disciples."

The surrounding Inner Sect Deacons obeyed and surrounded them.

The elders watched but did not intervene to help Lin Jin and the others.

"Seize me?" Lin Jin burst into laughter again.

"I'd like to see who dares!"

These words were uttered simultaneously by both Tie Niu and Lin Jin.

As soon as they finished speaking, Lin Jin and Tie Niu each took out a token.

"Presumptuous, seize these..." the Sword Hall Elder vociferated.

However, when he saw the token in Lin Jin's hand, he was suddenly shocked, and his words came to an abrupt halt.

The token was entirely red, surrounded by flames, and in the center, there was a flaming lion, lifelike and imperious.

The mere aura from the token was enough to make one feel intensely hot.

"You… you're from the Royal Capital Lin Family," the Great Elder said with surprise, recognizing the token.

"Indeed," Lin Jin stated proudly, then turned to look at Tie Niu.

Tie Niu was about to put away his token.

Lin Jin quickly grabbed it, took a look, and his expression changed.

The token was pure black, very simple, yet incredibly durable.

"Tie Niu, so you're the son of the Rock Family," Lin Jin laughed.

"Now I remember, there's only one person named Tie Niu in the Rock Family, the very son of the current Family Head…"

Lin Jin laughed again, laughing wildly, "Hahahaha."

"The Young Master of the Rock Family being detained in your Sky-splitting Sword Sect."

"Sky-splitting Sword Sect, you really have the guts."

Upon hearing this, the faces of the Ten Elders shifted.

The Great Elder quickly waved, dismissing the Deacons beside, wanting to say something.

But Lin Jin directly addressed Guu Changkong, saying, "Guu Changkong, don't think you, this Chief Disciple of the Sky-splitting Sword Sect, are so powerful."

"To kill you is merely a word away, we just don't want to use others to do it."

"Clean your neck, within two years, I will personally come to take your head."

"I'll come back too," Tie Niu said in his resonant voice.

Liu Yanran spoke with a chilling intent to kill, "I can't wait, in half a year, I will personally come to avenge Xiao Yi."

With that, the four turned and left.

No elder dared to stop them.

Just like Elder Yi, the four left the Sword Sect in a burst of dust.

...
