Solaris' Strongest Resonator

Chapter 121: The Appraiser Youhu

Sanhua explained, "The Moon-Chasing Festival is one of Huanglong's traditional holidays."

"People light all kinds of lanterns, hang them on trees, and gather with their families to admire the moon and 'celebrate reunion.'"

Lucian pondered for a moment—it sounded quite similar to the Mid-Autumn Festival from his past life.

Sanhua continued, "This is also thanks to the efforts of the soldiers on the frontlines and the help of you two in resolving the Threnodian crisis."

"Now, everyone can finally relax and enjoy the festivities."

In previous years, due to the Threnodians, the Moon-Chasing Festival had been hastily handled. But this year, they could finally celebrate properly.

Youhu raised her hands excitedly. "I love Plumpcake! They're crispy and sweet..."

Abby drooled at the description. "Plumpcake?"

He looked at Rover and Lucian expectantly. "Let's go to the Moon-Chasing Festival too!"

Rover tapped Abby's forehead with her slender finger. "I think you just want to eat."

Abby chuckled sheepishly. "Food is the first necessity of the people... Hehe..."

Lucian fell into thought. These past few days, there hadn't been much to do—the only real task was helping Jué recover from her injuries.

As for the Black Shores, there was no rush. After all, Rover seemed to want some proper rest as well.

The information they had obtained at Mt. Firmament needed to be carefully sorted out first.

They could also take this chance to return to Jinzhou. Speaking of which, it was about time for his second check-up at Huaxu Academy...

"In that case, we'll head over before the Moon-Chasing Festival."

Sanhua nodded slightly. "That would be ideal. The main celebration will be held in Taoyuan Vale."

Lucian suddenly understood. Taoyuan Vale was indeed a great place—he hadn't expected the Moon-Chasing Festival to be held there.

But then again, Taoyuan Vale had pleasant scenery. Though small, it had everything one could need.

The atmosphere there wasn't as rigid as in Jinzhou City, which was understandable since Jinzhou was the frontline against Tacet Discord surges.

Rover recalled, "That's where we met Zhezhi."

Lucian nodded. "Exactly."

Jué sighed beside them. "The Moon-Chasing Festival is also one of the most beloved holidays in Huanglong."

"After all, its main theme is family reunion—especially here in Jinzhou, where it's taken even more seriously."

"In previous years, the Threnodians made it impossible for many to reunite. This year, they can finally celebrate properly."

Youhu spread her hands, looking somewhat regretful. "It's just a shame there aren't many treasures at the Moon-Chasing Festival—mostly just food and games. Still, it's really lively."

"But well... As a mature person like me, I'm no longer interested in those childish things."

"Though, Jiao-Jiao here looks quite young—she'd probably enjoy them."

Everyone fell silent.

Was Youhu the only one present who didn't know Jiao-Jiao was the Sentinel?

But words once spoken could not be taken back.

But words once spoken could not be taken back.

If they told Youhu now that Jiao-Jiao was the Sentinel, she'd be terribly embarrassed, wouldn't she?

To spare her fragile little heart, it was best not to tell her...

Rover tilted her head. "You're not that old either, are you? How mature can you be?"

Youhu smirked smugly. "Hmph, you must know Danjin, right?"

Lucian and Rover were naturally familiar with Danjin. Back when they lived in Jinzhou, they trained with her every morning in the bamboo grove outside City Hall to improve their skills.

"Of course we know her."

Youhu grinned. "You'd never guess—Danjin is only a few years older than me!"

Lucian didn't believe it at all. He raised his hand and gestured above Youhu's head.

"No way! She's like—this much taller than you!"

Youhu, displeased, jumped up and swatted his hand away.

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

"Height is mainly determined by genetics!"

"Who says shorter people are always younger than taller ones?!"

Rover nodded slightly. "That's true in principle, but by every other measure, you're still completely a child."

Lucian suddenly had an epiphany. "I get it now!"

"You're the legendary appraiser—Youhu! A child in appearance, but with a mind sharper than any adult!"

Youhu nodded in satisfaction. "Legendary appraiser"... That suited her just fine!

She quite liked that line—she'd have to jot it down later.

Youhu's ability to improvise rhymes on the spot came from her habit of recording things.

She had a little notebook she called Youhu's Anthology of Masterful Poetry, filled with all sorts of amusing phrases.

One always regrets not having enough books—or enough clever ideas—when the time comes to use them.

But this was her little secret.

"Not bad. Here's a reward for you!"

Like a magician, Youhu conjured an ice cauldron and pulled out a small white cake.

Lucian took it and examined it. The cake looked as if it were made of snow, with a crystalline pattern on top.

"It's called Frostbloom Cake."

"My personal favorite snack!"

Lucian thanked her and was about to take a bite—only to chomp down on empty air.

Lucian: "?"

He looked at his empty hand, then turned to see Abby already munching on the Frostbloom Cake with a satisfied expression.

"Mmm—delicious! Tastes like chilled fruit!"

Lucian's expression turned dangerous. "Abby, three days without a beating, and you're tearing the roof off, huh?"

Abby remained utterly unperturbed. Calmly, he flew into the Tacet Mark on Lucian's back.

Lucian: "?"

"Get the hell out here, you damn sheep!"

Indeed, this was Abby's new trick to counter Lucian and Rover.

By hiding inside their Tacet Marks, they couldn't do anything to him—after all, they couldn't very well attack themselves, could they?

Admittedly, Abby's strategy was surprisingly effective.

"I'm in! I'm out!"

Abby darted in and out of their Tacet Marks, thoroughly enjoying himself.

But Lucian was quick. Seizing the right moment, he grabbed Abby in midair.

Abby flapped his little legs frantically, but Lucian had already seized him by the scruff of his neck.

"Rover, light the fire! We're having Abby for dinner!"

Rover grinned. "You got it!"

Youhu cheered. "Yay! I've always wanted to try what an Echo tastes like!"

Abby screamed in panic. "Don't eat me—I'm not tasty at all—!"

Sanhua shook her head slightly. These people were far too rowdy when gathered together.

"I'll return to Jinzhou first. Don't forget to come celebrate."

She turned to leave, but Youhu stopped her and handed her a Frostbloom Cake as well.

"One for everyone."

"Besides, Hongzhen has all kinds of food. I don't need to prepare travel rations for now."

Sanhua accepted the cake. "...Thank you."
