So I Became a Witch and Started Doing Daily Quests

Ch. 135

Chapter 135: The Protagonist, Janna

In the days that followed, the entire atmosphere of White Coral Academy grew increasingly tense.

For first-years who had already advanced to First Tier Wizard Apprentice, failing the final exam would mean repeating the grade.

As for those whose Spirit Power was still stuck at ten points and hadn't even qualified as First Tier Wizard Apprentice, if they failed to advance before the finals, it would mean expulsion.

Among the second-years, a small portion had already successfully advanced to Second Tier Wizard Apprentice.

For these individuals, their top priority was preparing for the “Three-Academy Joint Examination” three months later.

After all, whether they could receive focused support and resources from the academy hinged entirely on that event.

The situation among the third-years was even more particular.

Janna had learned from Richard Eva that the reason the “Three-Academy Joint Examination” this year adjusted its participating tier from third-tier apprentices to second-tier apprentices was because the Third Tier Wizard Apprentices were preparing for something far harsher than the Joint Examination—the “White Tower Reserve” trial.

This trial was co-hosted by the three major wizard academies—White Coral, Blackbone Grove, and Mist Tower.

Participants were primarily all Third Tier Wizard Apprentices from the three main institutions in Turin that met the requirements for the Dordogne-White Tower trial.

In anticipation of this, the three academies had, based on past experiences, independently simulated a “White Tower Trial.” Just like the mock exams Janna had taken before her college entrance exams in her past life, it was designed to provide an early grasp of everyone's capabilities.

Its aim was to help all the Third Tier Wizard Apprentices in Turin get an early feel of the high-pressure atmosphere and procedures of the “White Tower Trial,” thereby improving their pass rates.

It could be said that the three academies had poured all their resources into the “White Tower Trial,” going all in with a “succeed or perish” mindset, determined to secure a promotion spot this year—

Aside from that, Janna hadn't seen Vivian for several days.

Janna had received a message from Vivian saying that she was undergoing a secret special training at the moment.

It was said that if the training succeeded, it would increase Vivian’s chances of entering the “White Tower Trial” together with Janna.

So, for a long time, Vivian would be spending her days inside the Rose Family's secret realm and couldn’t stick to Janna like before.

Creak—creak—

Walking alone in the Misty Forest, Janna soon arrived in Turin City.

After a bit more walking, she arrived at the entrance of the Nightingale Opera Troupe ten minutes early—right at 8:50.

“Janna, over here—”

Seeing Liji Silks, who was standing at the entrance and whom she hadn’t seen for some time, a smile naturally appeared on Janna’s face.

“Morning, Liji. Why aren’t you going in?”

“Obviously because I was waiting for you.”

Today was the day David Berg had officially gathered all the actors of “Song of the Ocean” for the first group script reading session.

As Turin’s hottest rising star and the undisputed female lead of “Song of the Ocean,” Janna’s standing in the Nightingale Opera Troupe had already reached a whole new level.

In fact, to some extent, Janna’s status was even starting to eclipse that of Anna Moonshadow.

Because of this, the originally friendly attention Janna had received gradually turned into a sense of admiration as her stature climbed.

Take Liji Silks for example—because Janna had secured her a significant role in “Song of the Ocean” by vouching for her in front of Director David Berg, her attitude toward Janna had evolved from warm to fanatical.

She now cared more about Janna’s daily needs than Julie Anne, her assistant agent, ever did—acting as if Janna were the center of her world.

Seeing Liji Silks waiting for her under the scorching sun, Janna felt that such gestures between friends didn’t really require so much gratitude.

But knowing Liji Silks' straightforward and rigid personality, Janna didn’t try to break the mood.

She figured that once Liji’s overly emotional gratitude passed, things would return to normal.

“Let’s go quickly. If we’re any later, Director David is going to yell. Of course, he wouldn't dare yell at you—but me? He never holds back—”

Watching Liji Silks bustle about in her familiar way, Janna couldn’t help but find it amusing.

As the two descended and entered the rehearsal hall, the once noisy space fell into sudden silence the moment Janna opened the door.

“Morning, everyone.”

Seeing all eyes turn to her, Janna—already used to such attention—used her [Muscle Control] talent to put on her brightest smile and greeted everyone in the rehearsal hall.

“Morning, Janna!”

“Good morning, Miss Janna!”

“Janna, good morning—”

Perhaps the smile was too disarming. The cast, already fond of her, scrambled to return her greeting.

Like ocean waves, the greetings surged continuously.

Standing beside Janna, Liji Silks felt invisible—as if everyone who greeted Janna automatically overlooked her.

It wasn’t that Liji Silks lacked popularity or presence. It was simply that whenever Janna was around, even Anna Moonshadow sometimes couldn't capture any attention.

As if by magic, Janna’s naturally magnetic presence drew everyone in, even those with extraordinary abilities.

Fortunately, being a natural optimist, Liji Silks wasn’t bothered in the slightest.

“Amazing! In just a few months, your popularity in the troupe already surpasses us veterans.”

Even before the man appeared, his teasing voice could be heard.

Hearing the familiar tone, Janna didn’t even need to look—she knew it was David Berg.

“Morning, Director.”

“It’s not morning anymore. I’ve been here since seven. If you came any later, it’d be lunchtime.”

Catching the joking undertone in David Berg’s words, Janna simply tucked her long hair behind her ear and pretended not to hear it.

Clap clap clap—

Seeing Janna not take the bait, David Berg shrugged and began clapping his hands to gather everyone’s attention.

“Now that everyone’s here, let’s begin the first script reading session. As usual, we’ll start with self-introductions from the main cast, then begin the script reading—”

Upon hearing that, everyone in the rehearsal hall grabbed chairs and formed a circle.

Janna, already seated next to David Berg and Liji Silks, looked around the room.

She suddenly realized that aside from a few familiar faces, more than half the actors present were ones she had only met once before.

“Janna, you go ahead and start the introductions—”
