Chapter 42: Nobles Metting (Part 4)
8 hours before the meeting.
The soldiers had already prepared everything, their equipment and weapons. They had little equipment on them, their protective suit, light and easy to camouflage in nature, this suit gave no protection after all, a blow from a vampire could split a human in two.
A knife shaped like a military knife, made of silver.
A special rifle, created in order to shoot a single silver blade with as little noise as possible. It was the latest and greatest military invention during the war, as long as the target does not realize that this weapon can hit the target.
The only flaw is that you have to use two bullets, and as mentioned before the gun can only fire a single bullet. So you have to use two soldiers per target or prioritize one place.
Which would be the Vampire's brain, if the bullet hits the vampire's head and it will make his thoughts stop and he will not be able to do anything until he is healed.
The other target would be the silver grenade, an object created so that when it explodes, it fragments and lifts the contents. Multiple solid silver balls will be scattered around the area with enough power to enter the vampires' bodies. Just like the rifle, this one has to launch several of these at the same time to fulfill its objective.
Vampires are fast and strong, the bullets might not enter their bodies if they were not made of silver. So ignoring their strength, the most worrying thing was their speed. The vampires can dodge the bullets if they want to as well as the fragments of the grenade.
Surprise is their greatest weapon as humans.
Julaina checked her equipment for the 7th time, she wasn't nervous. Instead there was a slight excitement, many of her soldiers started to go down without her, her brother stayed by her side.
"This is a mistake."
Her brother's voice woke her from her reverie.
"What do you mean?" she asked with a frown.
"This is a mistake, we're going straight to our graves and you just accepted death's invitation."
A deep silence filled the room.
"Yes, I did exactly what you said" Juliana said with a solemn exhalation.
Seeing his sister's traquilida, Marco couldn't help but frown and feel his pulse quicken at his sister's words.
"You're stupid!? Did you ask the others to go to the grave with you?" he said with a high tone that was lowering until he said his last words between his teeth.
"There was no need to ask because they all agreed."
"How the hell could they agree? I didn't even see them discuss it and I'm always here!
"No, you're wrong, you're always here" Juliana touched her brother's forehead.
"You don't realize and even with what that guy who came here said, you still don't know the situation..." Juliana's words sounded more and more depressing as if she couldn't say something, but that something she had already accepted.
"Brother, we lost the war..."
"Of course we lost the war and now we just have to survive!"
"Survive like what? Like rats? Like humans from their farms?"
Marco frowned at her words
"It doesn't matter how we do it, we just have to survive" Marco with his one arm grabbed his sister's shoulder.
"We can't survive, because Tompoc will let us live like rats. You heard it already, they were going to use us as an exam for their knights" Juliana with one hand removed her brother's hand from her shoulder.
"But it's not like that anymore, we can leave here and find a safe place..."
"No, it will stay that way...sigh, I think if you weren't thinking so much about your only fight you would understand. So I'll make it clear, there is no such thing as a human military. In the farms they are taught multiple things of education, but not physical or combat training, it's a bit logical I think. But nothing like that is allowed if you are caught exercising beyond their standards they will make you an invalid, if you are caught knowing martial arts or anything like that they will torture you..."
"If any silver object is found in your possession you will be killed..."
Marco was silent, he could not say anything, he asked himself several times: "When did they comment on this?", "Is this really happening?"
His thoughts were interrupted by her next words.
"I don't want to die as an invalid..."
"I... I will die as a human, not as a farm animal. I will die fighting those who destroyed my home and our world... I will take more than one to hell with me..." Turning around Juliana walked away from her brother.
Marco stood watching as his sister disappeared into the fog.
"That's still a real death to rejoice in?" Marco muttered to no one.

In the corridors, three figures strode with steady steps, dressed in clothes that allowed them to fight if they wanted to.
Marta followed them silently, even though her figure was the most disjointed of the three. She is a baroness.
Harry, though a viscount, renounced his noble rank to become Antoni's attendant, a Duke. Harry underwent a blood change to become a noble vassal of Antoni.
While Martha had not... yet...
Her lover's insistence that she accept was tempting and today she sincerely planned to accept. She had already delayed her answer for a long time. Her delay was more due to her lack of responsibility and organization.
To say that the day before her blood frenzy she had to make emergency preparations because she is involved in the movement of her people to the Russian territory.
And even though she was very responsible and organized, the situation she was going through only made that part of herself falter. She became clumsy, distracted, irresponsible and disorganized.
She was grateful for Marcus who helped her a lot during this time.
Thanks to him she had to make many decisions.
All for her own good and that of her territory, for before she came she saw how a large group of human soldiers attacked her territory. She watched as those people she grew up with died as they tried to fight off the attack without being able to do anything.
So she sacrificed a lot to get to where she is...
Her friends, her staus and herself...
As she continued to walk along with the other two nobles, she could not help but hide behind their backs.
As they walked Marta looked at Valery.
