Slaves of Blood

Chapter 39: Nobles metting (Part 1)

Victor approached the mountainside where he stood, he could still see the mountain where the academy was and Victor could see the human farm at the foot of the mountain. Next to the abandoned village that had been almost demolished.

"It's been so long since we left the academy, but we are still so close."

"Surely we'll see humans here... it doesn't look like a place where humans who are still trying to resist are hiding so close."

"That it's so close is perhaps a minor detail, you should think about what the real reason for being here is" Artur replied, looking around.

Victor looked back at the hillside, staring at the human farm.

"It's because of the human farm?" hesitantly and without much understanding of why the hill was the reason why the fugitive humans they were looking for were so close.

"Yes... Besides."

"That doesn't make sense, it's the worst place to hide. So close to you, who have superhuman hatred, sight and smell, you're just begging to be caught" Victor tired, from the long walk. He didn't want to do his role wrong, Valery trusts him and he doesn't want to betray that trust.

"Let me finish" Artur said gesturing with his hand for him to stop.

"Besides, this is where the new knights were going to take their exam, but since all the young students have left that doesn't matter anymore."

"Their exam was..."

"Yes, they had to kill or catch the human rebels, who are equipped with guns and silver bullets, plus they are located in a place they know about."

"So what does that have to do with them being here for the farm, it looks like they are here to fight you?"

Artur shook his head

"The human farms have medicine and food as well as a place to make water drinkable, it's the perfect place to keep the fugitive humans close by" Artur replied 'That's enough, it's time for us to do what we came here to do'.

Artur continued to lead the way as he gave Victor the back of his hand.

"So you want to organize a party?" asked Professor Coin looking at the smiling Valery.

Professor Coin looked back at the paper Valery handed her reading each section again.

-Permission is granted, student Valery, to perform a school activity and to remain anonymous.

-At the party, each student will be invited where the proposed students will perform the music and the academy will supervise the purity of the blood to be delivered to the students.

-Students will be required to come dressed in formal attire.

-Academy teachers and other academic members should not come.

-Students may decline the invitation.

Signed by the Principal

Professor Coin paid attention to each point written in the letter, especially the last one. It asked that no academic officer should attend the activity.

'It will be a bloodbath,' thought Professor Coin, let out a soft exhale and looked at Valery in a serious manner. She was aware that Stelle left the academy just a few hours ago, she knew that she left Valery's room on bad terms.

So this move is being made by someone else over Valery, since she doesn't think it was Valery who planned all this. It couldn't be her, a mere Baroness can't make these moves.

The teacher stood up and looked at Valery "Valery..."

Valery smiled, she looked happy it was a smile that Professor Coin could remember when she was a child. It was a smile of pure happiness just like when a few months ago classes started and she was welcomed by her students.

She could only sigh inwardly at the outcome of things.

"Thank you very much" Valery turned around and without another word she left Professor Coin's office.

As Valery walked out of Professor Coin's office, she ran into Katerin who looked at her suspiciously.

"How did you get the principal to give you her signature?"

"I gave him something he wanted."

"What did he want?

"An answer."

Valery smiled and led the way, to the actual class that was being taught.

The flying class.

Valery was making progress, she was already managing to stay stationary in the air, but that was not flying. It was just levitating...

Even so, that progress was something that many of her classmates wanted, so of course the envy and admiration of her classmates arose.

Even so she was not unique and special, already several classmates and other students were achieving this same thing that Valery was achieving.

Valery was floating in the air a few centimeters above the water, she stopped floating and fell before stopping and so on until she reached the water. She fell close to where Katerin was.

"You should teach me how to do that."

"It's a little hard to explain but I can try to teach you."
