Slaves of Blood

Chapter 31: Changes Part 2

Outside the rooms where the students were.

The teachers were in charge of doing various things, supervising that no one went out, that the doors were properly closed.

Some teachers were just guarding and checking the facilities along with other supervisors and evaluators.

Some teachers had other responsibilities.

Like the teacher, who was in charge of heating the room where Valery was staying.

The professor, without difficulty, heated the room, as Viscount for him it is quite easy to maintain this temperature.

The room began to cool down and with a slight effort the professor managed to control the temperature, in a few minutes the temperature reached what is the maximum possible for Valery.

-50°

Seeing that the temperature came down quickly, the teacher was happy, because it meant that she would get tired soon, and he even hoped that the temperature would drop quickly from now on.

But it didn't, the temperature remained the same.

-51° C

It was such a small change that it was not noticeable.

Hours passed and the temperature continued to drop.

-54° C

This drop in temperature became more noticeable, more so when the teacher had to put more effort on his part.

-60° C

It was already a temperature that even the teacher had to push himself to his limits.

-65°

At this point, the professor could barely stand it.

He looked to his side, noticing that a supervisor had just arrived.

"Is something wrong?" asked the supervisor noticing the exhausted Viscount.

"The student Valery, she's taking me to the max" He said in a tired voice raising his own temperature steadily He himself was falling behind.

The Vampire's flaming hands began to shiver, not from the cold but from the effort he was making.

'Keep going down!' he thought with a lump in his throat.

-70°

This time it was the temperature of the professor's fire that lagged behind and began to be swallowed by Valery's extreme cold.

"Why are you stopping?" Said the supervisor in alarm.

"She has already overtaken me, her cold is putting out my fire."

"What nonsense are you talking, how can a baroness overcome a Viscount?"

"I don't know but the proof is in front of you?"

This was unheard of, it was not possible a Baron is just a Baron. A Baron cannot rise in rank and neither can he fall in rank, it is something that has been held for many thousands of years.

Crackles began to sound.

The two stared at each other before quickly looking at the structure.

There were no cracks but frost began to spread across the structure quickly enveloping it perfectly. It was strange, because it felt more alive than natural.

It was a purer ice, and even though it was cold, there was a slight liveliness to it.

"Is she a Baroness?"

"Yes, her family are Barons."

"Gentlemen, can you ignore what you saw here?" A strange, old and tired voice whispered in their ears, their eyes became unfocused and they ignored this place.

All the vampires that were outside the room, ignored everything that was happening around them.

A hunchbacked man was standing a few meters away from Valery's room, he was the director. He stared at the room for a few minutes before walking slowly and unnoticed to his room.

x-x-x-x-x

Valery's body was unconscious of what was going on around him. She was unaware of how the cold around her became much colder than before.

She knew nothing, and strangely enough, she was calm.

The pain was not there and the control that should be there because of her blood frenzy was not there either.

Several days had already passed and it was already the day of the full moon in March.

During that time, at first it was a great pain that he felt in his body, then it was a dream. It was a dream where there was nothing to see and nothing to do.

Only the great tiredness in her body forced her to close her eyes while she endured the pain.

It was a comfortable and pleasant sleep, better than what he has had lately to rest. Even though she doesn't need regular sleep, the mind gets exhausted and sleep is a rest that helps your mind stop thinking and rest.

She yawn and got up from the comfortable place where she was lying, but when she put her hand on the surface where she was lying she noticed that it was stone, polished stone without imperfections.

Without her brain being fully awakened, the whole surface of the stone was very perfect for someone to do it. If there was someone to do it, it would take thousands of years just for several square meters.

Noticing the deep white mist around her, she began to look around, puzzled and confused as she did not recognize the place where she was. She had never been here before and she had never slept here either.

"A dream?" she said aloud.

But she dismissed the idea, the dream was too lucid to be a dream.

Looking ahead, she saw something shocking and strange. Something that had not been there before when she woke up.

Large, thick chains, some of which seemed to exceed Valery's size. They were all leading to the same place, but that wasn't the shocking thing, the shocking thing was the strangeness of the chains.

While one chain had a heavy, dark feel to it, it was depressing to watch. Being near them made Valery feel tired and drained of energy.

Moving away from them, she approached the other chains unintentionally.

These chains were bright and hopeful, being near them made Valery's tiredness disappear, she felt full of energy and that was a good thing.

If it wasn't for the fact that she was repelled by the energy that made her forget many things about herself, it was as if she were a newborn baby. She could barely walk or think.

It was much more difficult to get away from these chains but Valery managed to do it with what little will she had left.

Valery trembled with fear, for she spent only a few seconds in these chains, and they affected her in such an eternal way that she could not even move away from them.

Valery moved away from the chains, having nowhere to go in this strange place. More than once she had no choice but to approach the chains to continue on her way, she preferred to approach the dark chains rather than the light ones.

Since their effect was more controllable than the others.
