Skyrim System In Westeros

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: House Greyjoy

Wright leaned against the wall, resting. One by one, the warriors from Bear Island passed by, nodding in acknowledgment, recognizing him as a warrior after the fight they had witnessed on the second floor.

As Dacey Mormont passed by, she handed him a water pouch. Before he could even thank her, she was already rushing toward the front with the others. A red-robed, burly man carrying a flaming sword approached and stammered out:

"I..."

Wright interrupted him. "I know you're going to ask about the magic. After the battle, come to the King's tent, and we'll talk."

"Alright." The man, Thoros, was a Red Priest from the Eastern Continent. This was the first time he had met another magic user, aside from other Red Priests. He had already begun to question the connection between the Red God and magic and had stopped preaching, opting instead for a mercenary life.

They had met while serving as soldiers and had shared many drinks together. The fire on his sword wasn't magic but the result of mountain wildfire that had been applied and lit. Now, meeting Wright, Thoros was excited, his words stumbling.

Wright patted him on the shoulder. Thoros nodded, turned, and rejoined the battle.

The reason for setting up a future conversation with Thoros was that Wright sensed the magical energy radiating from him. Wright had hurt his back earlier, and now his upper body was in pain; any movement beyond a small motion sent a sharp pain through his back. He could only walk slowly, trailing behind the rest of the army.

"Stand tall! Bear Island warriors, follow me into battle!"

Jorah Mormont once again led the Bear Island soldiers, having breached the second fortress's gates. With the walls and two gates down, the soldiers morale was high, and Jorah was fired up, charging forward recklessly.

By the time Wright had crossed the bridge and entered the second fortress, chaos reigned inside. Blood and bodies covered the ground. Wright target was still Euron Greyjoy, but he had never seen him before. He noticed a group of soldiers guarding a figure in armor, and without hesitation, Wright cast a fireball. He didn't care if it was the right person—better to kill one by mistake than let the enemy go free.

Soon, the defenders of the second fortress were wiped out. Jorah pressed forward, continuing the assault on the final fortress.

While crossing the bridge, Wright noticed a basket being lowered toward the sea. Below, there was a large stone, about ten meters wide, with several warships anchored nearby. Upon closer inspection, he saw a figure in the basket — a one-eyed man wearing an eye patch.

"That's him," Wright muttered. "I've heard Euron Greyjoy is a one-eyed man, so regardless of whether it's him or not, all one-eyed men must die today!"

Wright hooked his foot around the rope of the bridge to steady himself. With both hands, he unleashed a series of fireballs. The distance was too great, so he relied on sheer numbers. The fireball from his left hand struck the sails of one of the warships, while the fireball from his right hand hit the descending basket.

Euron Greyjoy, having heard of the Iron Islands fleet's defeat at Fair Island, where Robert's brother had used fire magic to destroy most of their ships, and the subsequent fall of King's Landing, had realized the inevitable. He returned to Pike to urge his brother Balon to surrender, but Balon refused, fleeing with his closest followers. The basket had just descended halfway when a volley of fireballs struck it.

The basket was made of wood, and the rope was hemp. The soldiers used their shields to block a few of the fireballs, but the explosive flames ignited the basket. The men inside had no choice but to jump from the burning basket into the water.

Wright saw Euron and a few soldiers leap from the ignited basket. Some were unlucky and fell onto the rocks, dying instantly. Euron was lucky, landing in the sea, where he was quickly rescued by the soldiers on the ships.

Wright's magical energy was running low. He couldn't let Euron escape. This man was skilled in navigation, and once he entered the sea, it would be nearly impossible to track him.

Wright cast a few more fireballs, aiming at the warships, setting them ablaze. The soldiers on the ships scrambled to put out the fires — the ships were their only chance for escape. At that moment, Wright noticed Euron remove his eye patch and glance toward him.

Suddenly, cheers rang out from the front. Wright turned to see soldiers on top of the castle cutting down the Kraken flag. The flag fluttered in the wind and drifted toward the sea. The soldiers shouted that Balon Greyjoy had been decapitated by Jorah Mormont.

Wright turned back to look at Euron, who had already rowed his ships far from the shore. The ships on their side were still stationed at Lordsport, as they came by land. They could only watch as Euron made his escape.

"Time stop?"

Wright focused and felt the flow of magic within his body.

No, his magical flow had been disrupted. It seemed like a spell that caused a kind of mental paralysis. The eye that Euron had concealed might be a magical artifact, or perhaps he had awakened some magical talent related to his eye. Wright would need to study this type of magic in the future.

"You got me this time, but next time, you'll pay with your life, Euron!" Wright had considered having Euron serve House Baratheon, but as someone who knew Euron's history in his original timeline, he concluded that the man's ambition was too great and decided it was better to eliminate him early.

Wright watched as Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark arrived late. Normally, given their personalities, they would have charged into the city alongside the others, but today Robert insisted on riding a horse to assert his royal authority. The terrain on Pike Island was uneven, and riding was slower than walking.

Having been part of House Baratheon for over a decade, Wright found that his thoughts were gradually shaped by family interests. His training in the legal society of his past life had evolved into a mindset where "human lives were expendable" — he was willing to kill those whose interests conflicted with his own. Looking at the blood staining his clothes, Wright couldn't help but reflect.

A large group of soldiers rushed forward. Robert, distracted by his own importance, didn't notice the blood-soaked Wright. Now, he would go to clean up the aftermath in the name of the king. Wright slowly followed behind, holding his aching back. In the hall, Robert saw the dismembered body of Balon Greyjoy and, upon learning that it was Jorah Mormont's work, immediately knighted Jorah for his efforts.

Jorah had already held a noble title as a lord, but it was only inherited from his father, who had taken the black and joined the Night's Watch to pass on his title. This time, Jorah received the title of knight on the battlefield directly from the king, which was the highest honor. The name of Ser Jorah Mormont of Bear Island would now be known across the entire continent.

The soldiers began searching the castle, gradually bringing out the surrendered soldiers, women, and children to present them before Robert to await his judgment. The death sentence for the traitors had already been decided in the royal court.

"All traitor commanders will be executed by decapitation, soldiers will be made into laborers, and the women will be brought into the camps," Robert said, then looked at the two remaining children:

"What are your names?"

"Asha Greyjoy."

"Theon Greyjoy."

A maester stepped forward and whispered something into Robert's ear. Robert then continued:

"Your older brother has already fallen at Seagard, and your second brother has just died in the outer castle."

Robert couldn't think of a solution. Killing children was never part of his rulebook, but these were the children of traitors.

Eddard Stark stepped forward:

"I will adopt these two children. They are about the same age as Robb."

Robert didn't care about them, and since Ned had spoken, Robert agreed.

The Maester began meticulously recording military achievements and attending to the wounded, while the soldiers dealt with the prisoners, counted the spoils of war, and stripped the castle of everything, even the wooden furniture and candlesticks, sending everything to King's Landing to be packed and shipped.

After a few days of rest at Lordsport, Robert, in the name of the King of the Seven Kingdoms, called together the captured Iron Islands Houses members for a council to select a new ruler, who would gain the Tittle of Lord of Pyke, fully responsible for leading the Iron Islands. Robert did not wipe out their houses entirely, only those who had supported Balon in the rebellion, showing them great mercy, but they had to abandon tradition and accept this change.

After careful deliberation, the Houses finally elected the former lord of Lordsport, Sawane Botley, as the Lord of Pyke. When Ser Sawane Botley accepted the title, he led all the Ironborn Houses in swearing fealty to Robert, vowing never to betray him.

With that, the Iron Islands rebellion came to an end. House Greyjoy was removed from the noble ranks of Westeros, and their lands were transferred to House Botley. Euron Greyjoy became the most wanted criminal on the continent, with the highest bounty.

Robert then declared that the army would return to Lannisport, where he would reward the loyal soldiers, offer a portion of the spoils as prizes, and hold a tournament to celebrate their victory in the war.
