Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Can't Eat the Dragon Egg Anymore
A few days later, near the camp, Wright stood on a stone, while Odahviing lay on the ground, watching Wright with a wooden dragon model in his hand. The model flew up and down with Wright's motions.
"This is the Cobra Maneuver!" Wright waved the wooden dragon around. "This is the Ingman Maneuver, followed by a vertical flip, and then a horizontal roll to finish. If you can do these in the air, no one will be your opponent!"
"Dragonborn, I'll eat you!" Odahviing lunged at Wright.
Odahviing was always slow in his movements, preferring a steady flight posture. When Wright taught him these maneuvers, Odahviing thought Wright was trying to torture him. Wright couldn't do much about it. The title of dragon rider was so magnificent and enviable. But actually riding a dragon and fighting together? Wright had no experience, not even from his past lives. He only had plenty of theoretical knowledge, most of it from fantasy works. Odahviing, being large and stable in flight, was usually calm. The last time, it was the corpse demon that made him panic. Normally, Wright would stand behind him and cast magic attacks, or Odahviing would release his own magic. As a new dragon rider, Wright didn't want to be like a bomber dropping explosive fireballs in the sky; he wanted the feeling of a fighter jet speeding through the air.
Odahviing wouldn't really bite Wright to death. Wright had explained the current situation, that in this world, Wright and Odahviing were probably the closest to each other. With Wright's injured knee, he couldn't run fast and often ended up in Odahviing's mouth, only to be swirled around with the dragon's huge tongue before being spat back into the dirt.
In the distance, the tents had become a small camp over the past few days. Slaves were feeding the elephants and cleaning up their waste. A group of soldiers returned to the camp to change shifts, having received orders to kill anyone approaching the area.
Suddenly, the sky darkened, and the dragon returned. There was a designated area next to the camp for Odahviing to land. Slaves sprayed water to keep the ground damp and prevent dust from rising.
"Pull harder!" The slaves led an elephant out of its pen, and around twenty or thirty slaves pulled at an iron chain, trying to drag the elephant toward the dragon. However, the elephant was terrified of the place and struggled fiercely. The soldiers prodded it with long spears, causing it to bleed, but it still refused to go.

A spray of dragon saliva shot into a mud pit, but Wright wasn't spat out this time. He was hanging onto the dragon's teeth. The massive dragon's teeth began to freeze, and a few seconds later, its chin was covered with ice crystals. Only then did Wright jump down from its mouth, landing softly on the ground.
"Bath time!" The maidservants had grown used to it after a few days and quickly went to prepare hot water for Wright.
The dragon's chin, covered in ice crystals like a beard, sniffed the air and caught the scent of blood, crawling toward the elephant.
Odahviing enjoyed hunting for himself but wouldn't refuse food delivered to him.
In front of a luxurious tent, Nymeria practiced throwing knives at a wooden target. Tyene sat at a small table, using a tiny brush to paint on a golden dragon egg. There was no paint, just dirt mixed with water, drawing eyes, a nose, and a mouth on the egg, with a pink ribbon tied around it in a bow.
Wright returned from his bath and sat next to Tyene. He knew she longed for a dragon and loved the dragon egg, but he had to tell her, "Tyene, I asked Odahviing, and you won't be able to hatch this dragon egg."
Tyene's excited expression immediately turned to one of disappointment. "Why?"
Wright stroked her fluffy golden hair. "Fire and Blood. In terms of magic, that's the source of magic in this world. For dragons, it means bloodlines and magic."
Tyene replied, "But I know magic!"
Wright smiled. "But you don't have the bloodline to hatch a dragon."
Tyene suddenly brightened up. "Do you know where there is one? Is it from the Targaryens?"
Wright pointed to himself. "Well, i do have targaryen blood."
"Then hurry up and hatch it!"
Tyene grabbed Wright's hand and shook it vigorously. Wright, however, patiently explained, "This dragon egg has turned into a fossil. After Odahviing's handling, it will take time for it to turn back into a hatchable egg." Wright then used a life detection spell on the egg, but there was still no sign of life.
"Even if it hatches into a dragon, neither you nor Nymeria will become dragon riders. While you both have Targaryen blood, it's too diluted. And after Odahviing's handling, the egg will no longer recognizes the Targaryen bloodline."
Nymeria leaned in. "Is there any way around it?"
Wright chuckled. "There is. Children we have together can become dragon riders. The new dragon-riding family in this world will start with me."
Tyene looked at him eagerly. "When do you plan to start? I'm already twenty-one, and my sister is twenty-four."
Wright smiled. "Once my injuries heal, I'll return to Westeros."

The Golden Company's temporary base was located outside the city of Pentos. The legion commander had already entered the city to meet with the governor. Inside the residence of one of Pentos' Magister, Illyrio Mopatis, he was receiving the Golden Company's commander, Harry Strickland. Alongside him were the Spymaster, Lysono Maar, Young Griff, and Ronald Connington.
The two major figures of the Golden Company were quiet, and it was mostly Illyrio and Ronald Connington who were talking. They were discussing the engagement between Young Griff and Daenerys Targaryen. Young Griff remained silent, internally opposing the decision, believing that Ronald Connington's plan was shortsighted and foolish.
He was now the only male Targaryen, and Daenerys the only female. Their union would merely purify their bloodline, serving no real purpose. He believed he should marry the daughter of a powerful family, and Daenerys should marry someone of power, so they could gain more support.
Ronald Connington continued to boast about his achievements and the power of the Golden Company. Each time his claims grew larger, Illyrio would show some disbelief, but both the commander and the intelligence officer would nod in agreement.
Illyrio was unaware of Young Griff's true identity. Their previous dealings with Oberyn had all been centered around Viserys and his siblings. Little did he know, Oberyn had hidden another Targaryen. Illyrio thought Young Griff was merely a promising candidate for the next commander of the Golden Company, so he treated the conversation dismissively.
Young Griff didn't want to listen to their awkward conversation. Instead, he was more concerned about his aunt. Suddenly, a scream and sounds of struggle came from upstairs.
"Something's wrong!" Young Griff drew his sword and rushed toward the stairs.
"Guards! Guards!" Illyrio shouted in panic. Daenerys was upstairs.
Upon reaching the second floor, Young Griff saw the bodies of seven or eight dead maidservants on the ground, with several guards also having their throats slit. Three men in black were working together to kill the last guard, and Daenerys was hiding in fear in a corner.
It was an unavoidable fight. Young Griff quickly realized the three men were using thin swords or daggers, hired assassins. No wonder they were able to silently eliminate so many people. In direct combat, Young Griff easily overpowered them. As reinforcements arrived from downstairs, two of the assassins were killed, and the remaining one drew his sword and committed suicide.
The scene was chaotic, with overturned furniture and tables, blood covering the floor.
"Where's the dragon egg?" Illyrio asked, seeing a knocked-over brazier.
Daenerys pointed, and three differently colored dragon eggs rolled next to the bodies of the dead maidservants.
Young Griff walked over, picked up the nearest dark green dragon egg, which had blood on it, and wiped it clean with his clothes before handing it to Daenerys.
Daenerys, reaching out to take the egg from the stranger who had rushed upstairs to save her, felt the shell crack the moment her hand touched it. She and Young Griff were both startled and quickly withdrew their hands. Daenerys then picked up the other two eggs, black and white, only for their shells to begin cracking as well.
