Chapter 97 Magic Circuit Decryption
Inside the Mechanical Association's Library
Kane regretfully placed "The Decryption of Rune Power" back in its original place.
The runes recorded here were vastly different from the ones he sensed, as if they were from a completely different world or civilization.
He had to continue flipping through one book after another, not knowing if there would be any power technology suitable for him, or any other rune explanations.
After all, this was just a branch, the information couldn't be more comprehensive than that of the headquarters.
But unless it's extremely niche, most information would have rough copies here.
Kane picked up another book, "Minimal Consumption, Magic Circuit Decryption"
He casually flipped through the book, rapidly memorizing the information within, looking for any matches with his Origin Skills.
The more he read, the more delighted Kane's expression became, because the power form described in the book was extremely suitable for him.
This book was written 200 years ago, and its author was a scholar who never advanced beyond an intermediate mechanician.
The book mentioned that about 200 years ago, a copper-colored dungeon appeared.
After exploration, they concluded it was a dungeon containing mechanical knowledge, and the monsters inside were all some sort of mechanical structure.
However, when the Mechanical Association began sending people to explore, they discovered something magical.
These mechanical constructs had no power source, which puzzled the scholars of the Mechanical Association at the time.
Because at that time, the association had already begun using Magic Cores as power sources for machines.
And it was this book's author who led the exploration.
After their disassembly of the mechanical monsters and decrypting the knowledge inside, they finally discovered that the dungeon's leader was an exceptionally large magic output source.
When they arrived in front of the final boss, they discovered that the source of magic wasn't a machine or an energy group, but a humanoid monster.
Through probing and various device detections, they found the leader's magic didn't exceed the copper class.
So how did it provide magic power to so many mechanical constructs?
It was a mystery for them until an explorer cleared the dungeon and revealed a blueprint.
The blueprint was eventually purchased by their team.
With the help of this blueprint, he finally wrote this book and understood the workings of those mechanisms.
Unfortunately, while the decryption amazed them, it was also extremely unsuitable because this operating mode was completely inapplicable for them.
These mechanical constructs had to be personally crafted, and the core circuits had to be made of a material that could precisely receive the user's magic without incurring additional loss.
With these magic circuits, the user could precisely expend magic to control the machinery.
Now, the general public uses Magic Cores, similar to a battery.
Various systems in machinery were preset, where the core outputs magic and the machinery reacts.
This process could lead to magic depletion during output and was easily disrupted by various explorers' skills and equipment.
So one had to expend more magic to maintain output stability.
Moreover, due to the ease of obtaining magic materials, Magic Cores were never in shortage, allowing machinery powered by Magic Cores to become mainstream.
Although unsuitable for the general populace, it was practically tailored for Kane.
Maybe he couldn't produce such materials or circuits that could precisely receive someone else's magic.
But as it was an artifact created by his Origin Skill, there was no need for transmission.
As long as it was within range, Kane could directly make magic appear in every corner of these artifacts.
Truly a treasure found.
This allowed Kane's magic depletion to be even lesser than recorded in the book.
Closing the book, Kane prepared to buy it and study it thoroughly and ask if there were any similar books available.
Kane turned his head to look at the nearby Kreya, who was engrossed in another book.
Looking at the cover, the title was "Magic Power Weapons, Firepower Introduction and Future Applications".
"How's it going? Not going to the House of Delicious Food?"
Hearing Kane's voice, Kreya snapped out of her engrossment, remembering she was accompanying Kane to gather information.
She smiled sheepishly.
Kane didn't mind and brought Kreya to the counter next to the Puppet Girl.
Noticing customers had arrived, the Puppet Girl immediately opened her eyes and shifted from a statuesque state.
"How may I assist you, customer?" the mechanical girl's voice asked.
Kane raised the book in his hand and asked, "Do you have any similar books?"
The Puppet Girl took the book and conducted a simple scan.
She then nodded and said, "Yes, would you like me to show you the location?"
Kane didn't answer her question but instead asked, "If I want to purchase these books, how should I proceed?"
Upon hearing his question, the Puppet Girl replied, "You simply need to hand over the books you want to me, and I will make copies of them as fast as possible. Afterwards, you can take the books you need with you."
Kane nodded, then asked Kreya to wait for him for a moment while he gathered the books the Puppet Girl mentioned.
Kreya didn't have to wait long before Kane returned with a few books in his arms.
Placing the books in front of the Puppet Girl, he said, "These are the books I need, please make copies of them for me. How much will it cost?"
The Puppet Girl's eyes glimmered as she scanned each book Kane needed.
After completing the scan, she said, "The total will be 321 gold. Please place the coins into the machine beside me, and I will make copies of these books for you."
The knowledge was quite expensive, it seemed.
Kane counted out the needed gold coins from his Space Equipment and placed them in a mechanical container indicated by the Puppet Girl.
This machine was similar to a money counter; once Kane put the gold coins in, he waited for a moment, and it would display the number of coins inside.
"Please wait a moment."
After speaking, the Puppet Girl took the books Kane needed into the room behind the counter.
Kane didn't have to wait long before the Puppet Girl returned with a stack of books bound in white covers.
The names on these books matched the titles of the books Kane had just purchased.
In just a moment, these books had all been copied.
After packaging the books, the Puppet Girl handed them to Kane.
"Thank you."
Kane accepted them and placed them all into his Space Pocket, along with "Magic Power Weapons, Firepower Introduction and Future Development" on top.
Then he left the Mechanical Association with Kreya.
