Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 75: Should Be a Bartender

When Kane and his team returned to the teleportation platform, the hall was empty, not a soul in sight.

They stepped out of the stone house and into the outside, where the sky had long been engulfed in darkness. The street was silent.

Kane led his teammates back to the Big Gold Tooth Tavern, but the tavern's main door was locked. It seemed they'd have to sneak in through the back.

Instead of returning to their respective rooms, they sat down in the tavern's main hall.

Honestly speaking, they were a bit hungry now.

Longbei looked at his teammates and said, "I have the key to the kitchen, let's go make something to eat."

Without waiting for Kane and the others to agree, he jumped over the counter and headed toward the kitchen.

He then started rummaging around by the side of the kitchen door.

Finally, he crouched down and pulled out a key from under the side of a cabinet, and then unlocked the kitchen door.

He turned to Kane and the others and asked, "Does anyone know how to cook? I don't know how to cook."

Kane turned his head to stare at Kreya.

Kreya rolled her eyes helplessly as Kane gazed at her eagerly.

She got up and headed toward the kitchen. When Longbei saw Kreya coming, he handed the key to her with a fawning smile.

At this moment, Yoyo slipped away from Kane's side.

A few of the men also sat down by the bar.

"Do you want something to drink?" Longbei asked.

"Can you mix drinks?"

"Do my hands look like they can?"

Saying this, Longbei stretched out his hands, his fingers were short and thick, clearly not fit for mixing drinks.

Meizike quietly walked behind the counter and began pulling out bartending tools and various bottles of alcohol.

He then extended his four hands and started performing with the mixing bottles.

Kane and Longbei were stunned.

Kreya heard the commotion outside, poked her head out to look, and was also shocked.

The three of them were just staring blankly at him, when had they ever seen this side of Meizike?

Without changing his expression, Meizike continued his performance, and shortly afterward, each of his four hands had produced a different drink.

He handed two of the drinks to Longbei and Kane, while setting one larger one nearby.

Kane and Longbei quietly picked up their glasses and began to savor the drinks.

It must be said, this drink perfectly suited Kane's tastes, with not too heavy an alcohol taste. It was more like a beverage because he didn't particularly like high-proof alcohol.

As for Longbei's, the alcohol content was undoubtedly high, even Kane sitting nearby could smell the rich aroma.

Vikz had tailored different drinks to each of their tastes, perfectly catering to their individual preferences.

Suddenly a cloud drifted over and bumped into Kane's face.

Yoyo also came out from the guest room corridor.

"Pffft"

Cotton Candy nudged against Kane's face, acting cute to its owner.

"Alright, alright"

Kane gently took Cotton Candy off his face and poked its cheeks with his fingers.

Longbei and Meizike gathered around, they hadn't seen Kane's pet before.

"What is this thing?" Longbei asked, a bit puzzled, looking at the thing in Kane's hands.

Upon hearing Longbei's question, Kane answered, "This is the pet that hatched from that pet egg before."

"Isn't it a cloud?"

Kane stared at Longbei in shock, he actually guessed it right the first time, being the first in the team to do so.

Seeing Kane's expression, Longbei said, "It really is a cloud, isn't it?"

"Pffft"

Upon hearing Cotton Candy's call, Kane turned to get a glass of water.

He placed the water under Cotton Candy, which then puffed up, absorbing the moisture.

The group continued chatting as they waited for the food to be cooked.

Before long, Kreya began bringing dishes out.

Since the tavern's ingredients were fresh goods delivered by nearby farmers every morning, there was no stock in the kitchen. These dishes were all taken from Kreya's space equipment for food storage.

So none of these dishes were vegetarian, all were various meats.

After finishing her preparations, Kreya sat down and took the drink offered by Meizike beside her.

"Ah, this drink is quite good," she said.

"Right! My good buddy is a genius," Longbei exclaimed.

Meizike glanced at Longbei with his dark-rimmed eyes as if wanting to ask since when he became his good buddy.

And so, amidst laughter and chatter, they finished this meal.

Eventually, they each returned to their rooms to rest, with Kreya taking Yoyo away once more.

As for Kane, he headed back to his room with Cotton Candy on his head.

————————

Noon

The sunlight once again woke Kane from his bed.

Kane moved Cotton Candy from his chest to the side and got up to wash up.

"Pffft"

Without the soft pad, Cotton Candy woke up and floated to Kane's head, lying comfortably on it.

Feeling Cotton Candy on his head, Kane could only helplessly continue with his actions.

When he arrived at the tavern hall, everyone was already awake.

Seeing Kane, they all waved him over quickly, the table was set with freshly prepared food.

The burly waiter handed Kane a new set of utensils.

Burton came over and asked everyone, "How many levels have you cleared?"

"Level 12."

"So, you've been guarding the hourglass?" Burton asked after hearing Kane's answer.

Kane nodded.

He then asked Burton, "So, the last few levels don't drop loot?"

Burton suddenly slapped his forehead and said, "Oh, right, right, I forgot to tell you about that."

"The rewards for the last five levels of the Crystal Dungeon only appear after the whole dungeon is cleared, and then there's a big explosion of loot, with a great chance to get exceptional equipment."

"Oh, it seems we were right, then."

If that's the case, it's completely acceptable: combining five levels plus the final boss, you can only imagine the good stuff that will drop.

After eating, Kane suggested to Kreya, "How about a session at the training ground?"

"Sure," Kreya nodded.

She then wiped her mouth and left with Kane.

This time, Longbei and Meizike didn't accompany them as they each had things to do.

After eating, Longbei dragged his brother aside.

And Meizike returned to his potion shop, now inspired with new ideas.

At the training ground near the town, the two were practicing.

Kane kept attacking Kreya, but she deftly defended, continuously pointing out Kane's mistakes.

"That was too slow, how did I teach you last time?"

"Use your waist, use your waist. Have you forgotten again?"

"That was a good hit, keep going."

Although there were occasional praises, Kane still couldn't escape getting beaten.

It seemed that today Kane might again be returning home lying down.
