Chapter 294: Beating Throughout
After Meizike emerged from the alternate space, Aiklonen stopped his attack and instead brought him to the center of the arena to teach him boxing techniques.
From his enthusiastic demeanor, it was clear that he felt it was a pity not to use boxing with Meizike's Origin Skills.
He spoke loudly to Meizike, evidently not just for his ears, as those watching from afar could hear them clearly.
Some of these techniques Kane and the others had already mastered, but there was more that they hadn't grasped or even considered.
Most of the techniques were not only applicable to fists and feet but also to various melee techniques, and even some short techniques could be used to cast magic.
He even mentioned an extremely practical technique, so practical that Kane and Kreya immediately started practicing it.
It was about how to attach minimal magic power to one's limbs to exert greater force.
This was the technique he emphasized that Meizike needed to learn, a skill that would allow Meizike to overtake others on a curve.
"With your pharmacist's mind, you should have remembered what I just told you. Now practice on your own, and I'll test you in a while."
Saying that, he then created a small circular platform behind Kane and the others and sent Meizike onto it.
"Longbei, you're next." He appeared directly in front of Longbei, tapping on the shield in front of him.
Longbei quickly swallowed the pastries in his hand, patted his hands, and stood up.
"You already know the rules, start when you're ready."
Still a bit worried, Longbei asked, "Is it really okay to use such a life-risking method?"
"Don't worry."
"Alright then."
Subsequently, Longbei transformed into a 5-meter tall gray giant. However, unlike before, his burning beard grew more intense and started encircling his body in bands.
Finally, the entire flame enveloped his body, as if cladding him in a layer of armor. His transformed gray hair also became a mass of burning flames like his beard.
"Ah! Longbei is on fire!"
Lilulu, who had been snoozing nearby, suddenly woke up and screamed in horror at the sight.
"Idiot! That's Longbei's skill. Sit down and watch carefully, don't yell and scream here."
Kane caught the panicking Lilulu, who was flitting about in the air, and pressed her back into her seat.
"Oh, right, hehe!" After hearing Kane's words, Lilulu sat quietly in her seat, picked up the pastry in front of her, and resumed munching, looking blissfully carefree.
On the other side, Longbei raised the giant hammer in his hand and swung it ferociously at Aiklonen like a meteor falling from the sky.
"Bang!"
The force of this blow was immense, and even Kane and the others could feel the wave of impact from where they stood.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
After the strike, Longbei lifted his giant hammer and continued to pound down repeatedly in this manner.
Meanwhile, enduring Longbei's onslaught, Aiklonen noticed his simple swings, realizing he had run out of options.
"Alright, stop now. It's my turn to attack. As the shield of your team, this will be the real test of your ability."
As soon as he finished speaking, he appeared several hundred meters away from Longbei, waiting for him to prepare.
Iron Wall Shield Defense and various illusions appeared, wrapping him tightly as he turned to raise his shield, ready for Aiken's next attack.
"Ready, here I come."
"Boom!"
A colossal explosion-like sound erupted as Longbei was blasted back ten meters, leaving deep grooves under his feet.
The illusions formed by Longbei's Iron Wall Shield Defense were riddled with cracks but did not break.
Aiklonen was delighted Longbei could robustly defend against his attack.
"Fantastic. Your squad always manages to surprise me in some aspect."
"Prepare yourself; this time, I'll be using a weapon."
He then conjured a blue long spear in his hand.
Longbei's magic power restored itself, and the cracked illusions of the Iron Wall Shield Defense were repaired, returning to their original state.
Faced with the spear thrust toward his shield, Longbei angled his shield, attempting to deflect it. However, the spear's speed was so swift that he failed to angle the shield in time, and it pierced straight through.
"Your reaction is too slow. Facing such a skill-laden attack, you're failing to keep up."
Then he withdrew the spear, leaving a large hole in Longbei's chest and shield, which rapidly repaired itself as Longbei touched the healed spot on his chest feeling a lingering fear.
Subsequently, Longbei found himself continually chased and attacked by Aiklonen, who preached at him while striking.
The lecturing tone gradually shifted from calm to impatient, finally becoming outright irritable.
Although Aiklonen was once a warrior, age had tempered his temper slightly but not by much.
"You blockhead, I told you to block left, why do you keep blocking right? What, do I need to trick you to hit you?"
Amidst the scolding, Aiklonen soon stopped talking.
He realized his admonishments went in one of Longbei's ears and out the other. Despite struggling with the lessons, Longbei remembered the physical hits clearly, adapting very swiftly.
Longbei was the kind of person who learned quickly through combat; practical training was his fastest route to get stronger.
Aiklonen adjusted his power and techniques, intentionally or not, guiding Longbei on how to deflect and redirect the attacks.
Teaching him verbally was as effective as speaking to a stone.
The result of this? Longbei suffered even more during the practice.
His body frequently sprouted holes and gaps, which healed swiftly, yet the pain remained just as intense.
"Now that you're awake, quickly go practice those techniques I taught you earlier."
Aiklonen's voice suddenly rang out beside Kane and the others, and Lilulu abruptly vanished.
Another identical circular platform appeared next to Meizike's, with Lilulu now inside it.
Meanwhile, Aiklonen continued sparring with Longbei in the arena.
Kane glanced at Kreya's gaze, helplessly shrugging.
