Chapter 127: The Final Center
The few people who received the mist communication looked at each other in dismay.
Subsequently, all eyes were on Kane; it was time for the leader to make a decision.
Kane pondered as he looked at everyone.
In this dungeon, no one had really been injured, nor had they expended much physical strength or magic power.
The monsters in this dungeon were too weak for them; the only fatigue they felt was from the environment.
Now that they've found this oasis, which could greatly reduce their fatigue, Kane decided not to return for now and to press on to the leader's doorstep before taking a break.
He shared his thoughts with the group.
Kreya and the others nodded in agreement, finding no issues with Kane's proposal.
Since the decision was made, everyone resumed their tasks.
Kreya, who had finished cleaning up, took over the cooking duties from Kane's group.
Now it was their turn to unwind by the lake.
...
After resting at the oasis for a night, everyone faced the upcoming journey with refreshed spirits the next day.
Now leading the team forward was mainly Yoyo, who previously could guide them around the edge of the mist's trajectory.
Having moved inside, with no landmarks, they relied on Yoyo's calculations for guidance.
They couldn't miss a single inch of this dungeon inside, nor did they want to take any useless detours.
They ensured both quality and efficiency.
It was uncertain if leaving the isolation belt started from the oasis.
Surrounding ruins and decaying structures began to increase when they sensed Kane and the others, leading to various mechanical monsters appearing.
Every less than half an hour of walking, they would encounter small ruins.
Yet, the monsters in these ruins were much weaker than those outside; everything was tattered and broken down.
Walking for a while, they finally came across a large ruin.
The buildings in this ruin were not completely destroyed—only partially collapsed. Some outlines remained clear enough to discern their original forms.
After scouting the area, Kane led the team to the edge of the ruins, drawing all the monsters out.
They organized a formation, each performing their duty, efficiently clearing out the monsters.
Just as they were nearly done with the small fry, a mechanical roar echoed from the center of the ruins.
Following this sound, two identical mechanical roars came from both sides of the ruins.
Kane quickly activated his Eagle Eye, looking in the direction of the sounds.
He saw three clusters of magic power reactions similar to the previous giant mechanical spiders.
"Stay alert, three elites."
His teammates quickly prepared themselves; they were in good condition, and these small monsters couldn't sap much of their physical strength.
Sounds of rolling came from a distance.
Three massive mechanical monsters assembled from various parts charged out, each moving on a large gear beneath them.
"Lightning strike!"
A massive bolt of lightning struck one of the mechanical monsters, paralyzing it instantly with crackling currents.
Seizing the opportunity, Lilulu unleashed a rainbow-like beam, piercing straight through the paralyzed mechanical monster.
Longbei, transformed into a small giant, raised his shield, activated his Iron Wall Shield Defense, and charged at the middle monster, knocking it to the ground.
Then, Meizike suddenly said, "I'll help eliminate this monster."
Four blue magic-powered hands each holding a syringe flew toward the monster.
Kane and Kreya took on the last one.
A pale white figure dashed towards the monster, Kane abandoning ranged attacks to launch Spider Silk and propel himself forward.
The enormous and bizarre mechanical creature instantly slowed, wrapped tightly by strands of Spider Silk around its joints.
Kane placed hardened blocks of steel in the creature's joints.
Four barrage dragonflies circled the creature, unleashing ammunition, causing an explosion of critical strikes.
In mere seconds, the creature was blasted into rubble, collapsing to the ground.
An explosion sounded from Longbei's direction.
After dealing with the creature, Kane looked over.
It turned out Meizike's four magic-powered hands placed explosive syringes onto the creature while Longbei held it down.
The explosion was the syringes going off.
The three large elite monsters didn't stand a chance against Kane and the team, taking less than a few minutes to be eradicated.
As the corpses turned to ashes, everyone began searching for loot.
Once all the loot was gathered with Kane, they found that aside from a few minor treasures,
each of the three large elites only dropped a medium magic material.
All three of these medium magic materials had polluted cores, in yellow and blue.
So, the center area is still polluted, isn't it?
After dealing with the loot, they briefly searched the ruins, ensuring no more monsters were present before they departed safely.
They resumed their journey around the center, following Yoyo's lead.
With the team's progress as thorough as a locust swarm, no monster along the way was spared.
They rested whenever they were tired, made camp when weary, and continued after waking up.
Fortunately, after entering the center area, they occasionally found oases, using them as their daily campsites.
This somewhat soothed their exhausted spirits.
While clearing the path, they found almost all cores were marked as polluted.
All the dropped energy crystals were blue and yellow, with not a single red one in sight.
This scenario made Kane wonder if there really were red energy crystals in this dungeon, or whether the key to solving the mystery lay within this dungeon at all?
Now all hope for the red energy crystal rested on the final boss.
Yoyo's map filled in the central blanks quickly, leaving only a small dark spot in the middle.
After days of travel, the group cleared the entire central area, leaving only the largest ruins in the dungeon ahead.
This should be where the final boss is located, according to the dungeon's records.
Except for a few collapsed ruins, the entire construction was largely intact, showing its original form.
Stone temples arranged neatly, square and distinct.
A style Kane and the others had never seen, conveying a sense of structured order.
When they were about to approach the ruins from a distance,
the mist communication rang in their minds again, signaling they had reached the final boss.
This was the last chance to leave and prepare before facing the boss in perfect condition.
The group had already agreed they'd exit the dungeon for some rest and preparation.
Even if not exiting for a full dungeon clear wouldn't yield any benefit, why make things difficult for themselves?
A gust of sand blew past, and the group vanished from sight.
