Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 118: Strange Ruins

Kreya walked over and lifted Kane directly in her arms.

"Thank you."

Hearing her words, Kane smiled and patted her shoulder.

"No need to thank me for such a small skill. There will be even more impressive ones in the future."

Upon hearing Kane's words, Kreya put him down and covered her mouth, giggling.

Longbei even ran over directly, holding onto Kane's leg and sitting on the ground.

"Good buddy, promise me you'll get me a skill as cool as this one."

Kane, left speechless by Longbei, said helplessly, "Alright, I'll definitely get you a cool one. Now, let go of me."

"Then it's settled."

Longbei stood up playfully, patting the dust off his pants.

Then, he raised his weapon and waved it around, shouting loudly, "I'm all fired up now, I can't wait to start annihilating those pesky dungeon monsters."

"Woo woo woo! Charge! Charge!"

Hearing Longbei's shout, Lilu, who always loved a thrill, charged over instantly and followed up with a loud shout.

Watching the suddenly excited duo, Kane helplessly clapped his hands to get their attention.

"Alright, time to rest. How can you fight monsters well if you don't rest now?"

Since the captain had spoken, everyone retreated to their respective tents to take a rest.

Kane used spider silk to completely seal the last opening, blocking the strong light from the sky.

The entire camp fell into darkness.

Then, Kane called Youyou over.

"Youyou, the camp's security is up to you. If anything happens, remember to sound the alarm, and wake us when the time comes."

After instructing this, Kane entered his tent.

Youyou went to the center of the camp, its eyes glowing red, entering guard mode.

Kane entered his tent, which had no sleeping bag prepared.

He lay directly on Cotton Candy.

Now it's my mobile bed.

So comfortable.

......

As time slowly passed.

In the sky over the Gobi Desert.

The luminous body continued to emit its strong light wantonly, unchanged.

In the space surrounded by spider silk above the ruins.

Kane and the others had long woken up, washed up, and began to pack their camping equipment.

When everyone was almost ready.

Kane snapped his fingers, and the spider silk around them disappeared instantly.

The strong light from outside flooded in.

Everyone squinted, shielding the direct light with their hands.

After a moment's adjustment, they fully opened their eyes.

"So, where should we go now?"

Kane looked around, then called Youyou over to project the map they had traveled.

Studying the map.

We came from the southwest, so let's head this way.

"This way," Kane pointed south, "Let's circle around the Mist Boundary, then slowly advance towards the center of the map. Make sure not to miss any dungeon monsters."

After hearing Kane's plan, everyone nodded, as they now completely understood Kane's determination to not miss any monster in the dungeon.

They, too, didn't want to miss a single one.

After Kreya and the others formed their formation and started moving, Kane also stood atop Cotton Candy and took to the sky.

They slowly progressed in the planned direction.

About two hours into the journey.

From the sky, Kane finally spotted a broken ruin not far off.

However, this ruin was much smaller compared to the previous ones they encountered, probably less than half the size of the others.

When Kane activated Eagle Eye, he found the magic reaction in the ruin was scattered, maybe not even ten of them.

Descending to the ground, he swiftly led his team to the ruin.

Their arrival immediately alerted the mechanical monsters inside the ruin.

These mechanical monsters crawled out from hidden places.

When these monsters showed their forms, Kane immediately felt something was not quite right.

The styling of these mechanical monsters was vastly different from the previous ones.

Unlike the precisely designed mechanical scorpions and mechanical sandworms from before.

Their construction was extremely crude, whether it was gears or connecting parts, everything had an ancient, basic feel.

Like a bunch of ancient gears randomly assembled together, with some even showing cracked traces.

Their attacks were also very primitive, relying on the spinning gears under them to charge straight at Kane and his team.

Kreya immediately switched out her Wolf Fang Club and, together with Longbei, wielded blunt weapons to confront these mechanical monsters.

The blunt attacks had a miraculous effect; their hits instantly shattered the piled-up gears.

Kane promptly launched his attack too.

Within a few quick moves, they wiped out the mechanical monsters.

They swiftly began to clean up the battlefield.

Out of eight monsters, only three pieces of minimal material dropped. However, these monsters were indeed significantly weaker than those Kane and the others encountered earlier.

The lesser loot was understandable.

But the style of these materials was somewhat different from those previously dropped.

Not intricate gears or mechanical parts, but an ancient stone piece.

Kane began to carefully identify it.

[Ancient Fragment]

[Magic Material]

[Color: Copper]

[Attributes: Slight increase in Magic Stone Energy]

[Description: A fragment of an ancient construct from the starry sky, whose pieces scattered across some world's surface after its body shattered. When mixed with metal products, it gradually bestows them with life.]

Though the material itself isn't much, the information it carries is quite significant.

Even though this information isn't particularly useful to him right now, Kane never minds knowing more.

After packing up, they began to stroll around the ruins to see if anything had been overlooked.

However, just from the exterior, this ruin was indeed much more dilapidated than the others.

The other ruins at least had several broken stone pillars, and one could see some murals on stones that weren't completely weathered.

As for this ruin, forget about stone pillars, even a complete stone block was not to be found.

If not for the distinctly different color of these stone blocks compared to the surrounding soil, plus the mechanical monsters inside, Kane might really have thought this was just a pile of rubble.

Not having gained any useful items or information, after re-organizing their formation, the group began to move towards the originally planned direction again.
