Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 114 Treasure-Hunting Paper Crane

In the shattered ruins.

When the dust settled, the pit on the ground no longer showed the puppet's body.

A heap of gray dust accumulated in the pit.

Reached out and cleared it away.

Two magical materials emitting light were revealed.

Kane directly picked up the materials.

One resembled a core-like tubular crystal, still emitting a blue glow, with something like liquid seemingly flowing inside.

[Kinetic Crystal-Blue]

[Magic Materials]

[Color: Copper]

[Attributes: Moderate boost in Magic Stone Energy]

[Explanation: A creation of the Mechanical Race, mimicking its most fundamental energy to construct an Energy Core with immensely strong power.]

(Secret Intelligence Department: Seems to be a key to the decryption, one of three colors.)

Picked up the blue crystal and examined it carefully.

An important tool for decryption, perhaps?

Why wasn't this detailed in the previous information obtained?

Then there are only two possibilities.

One is it appeared, but without Kane's detailed appraisal ability, it was merely considered ordinary magical material.

The other is that it never appeared.

Discovering this secret and hiding it is not impossible, but the possibility is relatively low.

Because each person can only clear the dungeon once, and each team is distributed in other replicas of the dungeon.

This is just an ordinary dungeon—it's not some large interconnected dungeon.

The interconnected dungeon means, without any replicas, everyone who enters is in the same space.

And if someone discovered such hidden information and reported it to the Mist Council, various rewards could be obtained.

But if kept buried in one's heart, no benefits can be gained.

Though there indeed might be such fellow-hiding individuals.

Picked up the other magical material to inspect.

This was a semicircle palm-sized mechanical orb; the light emitted from its grooves was the same as that emitted from the crystal in the other hand.

[Secret of the Core-Blue]

[Magic Materials]

[Color: Copper]

[Attributes: Moderate boost in Magic Stone Energy]

[Explanation: The Energy Core of the Mechanical Race, equivalent to their heart. Judging by the emitted glow, this belongs to a blue-colored mechanical race.]

Just one elite monster puppet, and it dropped two moderately graded magical materials.

Equivalent to half a magic stone.

But only one can be used; the other counts as a decryption tool and should be preserved first.

But from the description of this magical material, one can glimpse at the secret of this dungeon.

The decryption states that blue is one of the three colors, simply indicating these decryption tools have three distinct colors, with blue being one of them.

And based on the second magical material's description, it shows the Mechanical Race likely distinguishes different factions or groups by the color of their cores.

And very possibly, they correspond to three different colors matching the decryption tool's colors.

Seeing Kane pondering over the magical materials in hand, Kreya approached and patted his shoulder.

"What's the matter? Are there issues with these two magical materials?"

"No issues," Kane said, picking up the blue crystal again, addressing everyone: "This dungeon should have a hidden decryption part, and this magical material is one of the decryption tools, with two others needed—they are of different colors."

Kane's words brought a gleam to everyone's eyes.

Decryption, hidden sectors, in their minds, unpromptedly connected with treasures.

Not to mention them; even in Kane's mind, it's the same.

"Is it a riddle-solving quest? Lilu Lilu is an expert in solving riddles, you know."

Little Fairy fluttered around the crystal in Kane's hand.

"No riddle-solving; it's treasure hunting."

Kane said, shaking the crystal held in his hand.

Lilu Lilu hugged the crystal, saying: "Kane, let me take a closer look."

Upon hearing her words, Kane released his grip.

Lilu Lilu held the crystal tube, then waved her magic staff.

"Searching for treasure is what Lilu Lilu does best. Guiding colored paper crane, quickly help me find the treasure."

As her words fell, a paper-folded colorful crane appeared before her.

The colorful crane circled the crystal tube, then flew off in one direction.

"Quickly, quickly, follow the paper crane. It'll lead us to the treasure."

Although Kane and crew felt bewildered, they still followed Lilu Lilu and ran.

As they ran, Kane asked Lilu Lilu: "What's this paper crane? Does it have any effect?"

Lilu Lilu laughed as she followed the paper crane, answering cheerfully: "It's Lilu Lilu's friend, you know; it helps me find things I want."

Understood.

Treasure Compass.

Now knowing its effect, all they could do was trust her and chase the paper crane.

Then Kane mounted Cotton Candy and soared into the sky.

Following the paper crane while surveying the surroundings with Eagle Eye.

Followed the paper crane for almost half an hour.

Finally, Kane, from the sky, spotted a ruin ahead.

And below, the paper crane burst into colorful paper amid a flash of colored light.

Kane glided down on Cotton Candy to meet his teammates.

Upon seeing Kane, Longbei quickly inquired: "How's it going, buddy? Any signs ahead in the ruin?"

"No signs of strong magical power reactions, besides distributions of stone pillars and degrees of stone fragmentation, nothing greatly differs from the previous ruin."

Kane from above noted this ruin bore similarities in type of construction to the previous one when intact.

With Kane's words, everyone prepared to rush into the ruin to obliterate the mechanical monsters.

As the crew arrived at the edge of the ruin, indeed, surrounding mechanical monsters were alerted and attracted.

These mechanical constructs bore no visual differences from the scorpions and sandworms in the previous ruin, nor did their attack patterns differ.

As Kane had already tested the barrage dragonflies' power, he didn't waste magic power now.

Instead, transformed the barrage dragonfly into firearm-like objects, holding one in each hand.

Shooting at the approaching mechanical monsters.

Kreya and Longbei charged directly into the thick of monsters, sweeping with their weapons in broad strokes.

The most peculiar attack style among the team belonged to the newly joined mage, Lilu Lilu.

"Beautiful Stars"

Lilu Lilu waved her magic staff.

Colorful meteors, trailing rainbow-like tails, rushed toward the mechanical monsters.

Upon being hit by these meteors, the mechanical monsters transformed into colorful paper, exploding.

Kane eyed the scene.

This special effect was an odd one.
