Chapter 20: Ghost
Tsunade didn't really believe in the existence of ghosts and felt that ghost was probably ninjutsu or illusion or something else. She had heard a lot of people talking about it but she had never seen it. But this time it was different since she watched it directly from her smartphone.
"Tsunade-Sama, what are you watching?"
Shizune asked. She was holding Tonton in her hands while looking curiously at the strange device in her teacher's hand. She knew that her teacher had gotten this device when she had won a gamble before which somehow is a very rare thing since Tsunade had always lost on gambling rather than winning.
Tsunade had told her about the existence of the mysterious group on that strange device before and wanted to join, but her teacher didn't know how to invite her to the group. It was also the reason why she was a bit curious about what Tsunade was doing.
Tsunade didn't say anything, only moved her hand telling Shizune to come beside her.
Shizune nodded as she sat beside Tsunade and watched the live-streaming together. But she didn't expect to see a very handsome young man.
"Wow, he's very handsome."
"Yes, he is."
Tsunade had to admit that Haru was very handsome, though she wouldn't tell him that directly since she felt a bit embarrassed to do that.
"What is he doing?" Shizune asked since she was curious.
Tsunade told her that Haru wanted to buy a house but the house was haunted. He asked everyone in the group whether she and everyone in the group had a way to solve this problem.
"G, ghost?!"
Shizune turned pale when she heard about ghosts.
Hearing her loud voice, Tsunade frowned and said, "Shh... I can see something there. Be quiet."
Shizune and Tonton nodded and watched the streaming quietly, but they moved closer to Tsunade since this video was really frightening.
---
Entering the second floor, Haru was greeted by this strange voice again, but this time it was several times louder causing his ears to hurt.
"HELP US!!"
"GET OUT!!!"
"NO!!! P, PLEASE DON'T HURT US!!"
"DON'T KILL US!!"
*BAAM!* *BAAM!*
Frowning, Haru felt that this voice was different from before. Clenching his hands, he was wondering what kind of human would do such a thing to innocent children and even kill them.
'No, they're not humans, but beasts.'
Haru sighed and said, "I have heard that three children have died before because of robbers in the past. I think that is the cause of this haunted house." Walking slowly toward the door where the source of the voice was coming from, he took a deep breath and decided to open it. He ignored both Gintoki and Kuroneko who wanted to stop him since he wanted to do something to those ghosts.
Gintoki: "Stop! Stop! Don't open the door!"
Kuroneko: "No! That place is full of evil spirits! Don't open it!"
Gintoki and Kuroneko were scared and they couldn't think straight.
Haru looked at the chat and found out that Yajima had sent out new magic to the "group chat".
"Legend of the City?"
Haru felt a bit interested and his hand which was about to reach the door stopped. He decided to read the book for a while since he didn't feel a threat from the ghost. Rather than frightened, he felt that those ghosts were pitiful for some reason.
Yajima: "Haru, you should read that magic book for a while before you enter that room."
Gintoki: "Yeah, Yajima is right! Read a mantra, chant, or something before you enter that room! Oh, don't forget to bring a lot of salt!"
Kuroneko: "Ugh!! Are you not afraid of being cursed???"
Reading the book for a while, Haru understood the concept of the new magic, but he couldn't use it right away since he didn't have time to comprehend this magic fully. Closed the book on the "group chat", he opened the door of the room and saw the ghost which kept screaming, smacking the door and scratching the wall. Three black shadowy figures appeared before him with a very hazy appearance.
If it was normal people then they would run away directly, but Haru didn't do that since he knew who those ghosts were before. He also showed those three ghosts on the "group chat" and suddenly he could see the expression on those three ghosts.
'Scared?'
Then the three ghosts kept screaming.
"HELP US!!"
"DON'T KILL US!!"
"GET OUT!!"
Haru saw the three ghosts started to cry in blood and had a scared expression on their face. Thinking for a while, he decided to use his light magic.
Light is a very sacred element in the story and it has always been a weakness of an evil spirit or a ghost or something evil.
Haru created a ball of light and unleashed it toward them. His ball of light had the size of a soccer ball and it moved quite slowly toward those ghosts. He felt that those ghosts didn't mean harm rather they were scared of him. Thinking of the robbery case which happened in this house, he knew very well that those ghosts were the children who were killed in that robbery. He wanted to purify them and make them go to heaven, but it seemed that he had failed. But at the same time, the hazy and black shadow figures before had changed into the figures of three cute children.
The three of them hugged together while looking at Haru in fear. They were full of tears and closed their eyes, but they didn't let go of each other's hands whimpering in silence.
"Nee-chan, please help us!!"
"Please, don't hurt us!!"
"Nee-chan!!"
Their voice was very low since they were afraid to make Haru angry at them.
Haru was very uncomfortable thinking about what had happened to the three of them. Taking a deep breath, he put on a very warm expression and smiled kindly.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you."
Haru didn't move closer since he was afraid to make them scared. He wanted them to get used to him first before he got closer.
"R, really?"
"Onii-san, are you really not going to hurt us?"
The three children were pure and really hoped that Haru wasn't going to hurt them.
Haru nodded and said, "Of course, I won't." He was wondering whether he could pat their heads. He walked toward them and patted their heads as gently as possible. He also covered his hands in warm light hoping it would able to make them go to heaven.
The three children seemed very calm when they said the elder brother in front of them was very gentle and kind. They also loved this feeling when they were being patted gently by him.
"Onii-san, can I ask you for a request?"
One of them suddenly asked.
Haru nodded and said, "Of course, you can ask me anything."
"Can you help our older sister?"
"Yes, please, help our Onee-chan, Onii-san!"
"Our Onee-chan is very scared right now, please help her!"
Haru was surprised that they had an older sister. He wasn't sure who their older sister was but he decided to ask anyway, "Who is the name of your older sister?" He wasn't sure whether he was able to find their older sister, but he needed to try since it might be a way to send them to heaven.
"Her name is Yuri Nakamura."
"Please help our older sister, Onii-san!"
Their expression was very pure and they didn't feel fear toward Haru again. They stood up together hoping he was able to help their older sister.
Thinking for a while, Haru didn't know who Yuri Nakamura was, but he might able to find it using the internet later. Patting their heads again, he said, "I'll help her. You don't need to worry, so do you want anything else? I can buy you a snack or a video game for you."
It might be quite boring waiting for him to search for their older sister so at least he hoped they could be happy until he came back with their older sister.
Haru wasn't sure whether they could eat a snack or play a video game, but since they were a child. They would be happy, right?
