Chapter 5: An Alliance
"What did you say?" Sinoca questioned, caught off guard by what the other had suggested.
"Don't you see, it's perfect. We both hate the DCU, I've got the power, I'm sure you have some inside information, and I know quite a few rebel camps around here," Inamaru said excitedly. "Let's put together a team, an ace squad, an ultimate unit. One that works with all the rebel camps, and goes around hitting the DCU where it hurts. We'll be heroes, we'll be legends. We'd be infinite!" The more Inamaru talked, the more excited he started to become. Sinoca watched him and regained to question his sanity. Although the plan sounded good in theory. In practice, it was a different story. There were a lot of things they didn't know about each other yet.
"Don't you think you are moving a little fast," Sinoca asked, "for starters, we don't even know each other. What if we aren't on the same side?"
"What do you mean?" Inamaru asked, confused. "Why wouldn't we be?"
"I'll tell you know, I want to save the humans," Sinoca said. "The target may have changed, but as long as I am alive, I will fight for humanity. What about you, how do you feel about humans."
"I don't care about that, I know lots of humans," Inamaru said casually. "In fact, I hang out with my buddy Matt all the time." Sinoca stared at Inamaru blankly. "Why are you surprised, it's not like I'm the first demon you ever talked to right?" The silence was enough to answer the question. "Really? You killed all the demons you've met."
"You gotta understand, I was practically raised in the DCU, the only demons I've ever seen were targets," Sinoca explained. "I've never every seen a demon that wasn't trying kill humans until that day."
"Well, I guess I forgot you fell for the DCU brainwashing," Inamaru said. "too bad you don't have an elite mind like mine." Inamaru stood proud in front of Sinoca, it was a little irritation to her but she let it slide."
"Anyway, how would we even go about forming this team of ours," Sinoca asked.
"We will travel around and find other warriors," Inamaru said gleefully. "I'm not expecting that we have the team tomorrow, but in a few weeks I'm sure we could have 15 members."
"15! That's too many!" Sinoca yelled out. "If we are going to break them down, we need a much smaller core group. If we are working with other rebels, who I am assuming are all demons, then it'll be harder for them to pinpoint exactly who we are, and where we are." Now it was Inamaru's turn to look at Sinoca in disbelief.
"WOW! That's amazing," Inamaru said. "We could definitely take them down. I knew o had a good feeling about you."
"Hold your horses big man, we are not done yet," Sinoca said. "There are plenty of other things we need to discuss."
"Like what?" Inamaru asked.
"Your rebel groups, how do they feel about humans," Sinoca asks. Inamaru was quiet for a brief moment.
"I don't know about all of them, there are some that even have humans among them," Inamaru explained, "and then there are those, who hate all humans. It could be a case like you, where the only humans they know of are the ones from the DCU, but the hatred is there."
"So how were we supposed to work with them, seeing how I'm human?" Sinoca asked.
"I.....didn't think about that," Inamaru said, looking at his feet on the floor embarrassed.
"We will put a pin in that for now," Sinoca said, "another issue we have is that right now we aren't strong enough." Inamaru scoffed soon hearing this.
"You may not be strong enough, but I'm definitely strong enough," Inamaru boast.
"Is that so?" Sinoca laughs, "do you want to go outside and show me?" Inamaru stared at her, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Are you sure about this? Im pretty strong," Inamaru warned.
"Yeah, I'm up to it," Sinoca answered, walking to the door. Inamaru shrugged and followed her. They walked back to where they met. Sinoca had her blade drawn, Inamaru had his claws out.
"Are you sure about this?" Inamaru asked again.
"Yeah, don't hold back, I'm ready," Sinoca responded. Inamaru sighed before half-heartedly lunging at Sinoca, who trips him, causing I'm to roll over and land on his back, the moment he landed, Sinoca had the nice pointed directly at his neck."
"I told you not to hold back," Sinoca said, before removing the blade. Inamaru quickly rose to his feet. "Again," Sinoca ordered. Inamaru was now embarrassed and furious. His pride had kicked in as he ready himself for another attack. This time he was much faster and stronger than before. Attacking with his claws. However, Sinoca was parrying all of his attacks, rather easily, and constantly hitting him with kicks. Even when Inamaru lunged forward trying to bite Sinoca, she raised her knee, hitting him under his chin and forced him to close his mouth before nailing him using a spinning back fist that knocked him to the ground. Inamaru was stunned. He couldn't fathom that not only was he getting beat, but he was being dominated. Inamaru hadn't lost a fight in 7 years. It's been a long time since he's felt helpless in a fight.
"You're not bad," Sinoca said, genuinely. She bent well, but she could see that her words only made Inamaru feel worse. "I'm sorry you feel bad, but that just shows you how far we are," Sinoca continued. "I was able to beat you, now if I had to rank where I am currently, I would say I'm as strung as a higher their knight, or maybe a low their general." Hearing this, Inamaru put his head down, a bit discouraged. He never imagined how tough this fight could end up being. "When we do this, we are going to need to be stronger than the commanders to be successful." Hearing these words Inamaru lifted his head.
"Do you mean-"
"That's right," Sinoca said, smiling. "I'm in."
