Chapter 924: 921: A Threat?
The Hero was not talented.
According to common sense, every novel, and every story Corey had ever read and heard of, the Hero was usually the most talented or an extremely talented individual in his or her world.
His or her talent was meant to be so high so that the Hero could become as strong as possible for the enemies he or she would face.
But Jeremy Draker... was not a talent.
It was not that his talent was terrible, it was just that his talent was barely average.
Just barely average.
And from what Corey observed through his Eyes of Omniscience, Jeremy Draker's natural talent was much much lower than his current talent.
He was what somebody would call... trash.
Both his comprehension and bodily talent was trash, and when Corey realized this, he was stunned.
Because how could the supposed Hero of their world be trash?
Wasn't their world doomed if this was their hero?
Corey had a lot of questions regarding Jeremy Draker. Most especially how he had gotten the Hero class.
Why did the Universal System deem him worthy to be the Hero of their world?
Was it because he was a training freak?
Because he was hardworking?
Because he loved getting stronger?
Because his mentality was strong?
Corey did not know, and he would be lying if he said he was not curious to know the answers to his questions. However, he decided to keep his thoughts and questions to himself.
He would find out with time. Besides, his attention and goal was on the the Chained Firmament in the sky.
He looked at the immense landmass in the sky, and his eyes turned pure white with a golden dot at the center.
There were three reasons why Corey decided to be among those who wanted to reach the Chained Firmament.
The first was because of the Book of Death. He obviously did not want any other person to take what he almost died for. It was something he did not want at all.
Especially when he was certain that the Clown would also try to take the Book of Death for himself, and the Clown was the last person he wanted to get what he worked for.
The second reason why he was going to the Chained Firmament was because he wanted to see how another world looked like since the Chained Firmament was a shattered part of another world.
And the last reason was because of his Eyes of Truth and Judgement.
Out of all his ocular abilities, his Eyes of Truth and Judgement was one he rarely used since it was not truly combat related.
However, out of pure curiosity and also wariness, he decided to use his Eyes of Truth and Judgement to determine if it was safe to go to the Chained Firmament.
And unexpectedly, it was not safe... Even for him.
His Eyes of Truth and Judgement had nine different abilities, and each of these abilities dealt with colors.
When Corey looked at the Chained Firmament, he saw the three colors.
Red, Black, and Gold.
Red basically meant threat, and the deeper the hue of the red, the more dangerous the threat was.
What Corey saw when he looked at the Chained Firmament was a deep hue of red which meant that there was something or some things that posed an enormous threat to him on the Chained Firmament.
Black literally meant death, and what it meant was that the danger the Chained Firmament posed was so dangerous to the point that the chances of him dying was extremely high.
When Corey saw this, he was a little bit worried and also curious.
He was worried that he would have to face another being like Death or that he would have to face a Tier 7 or above.
He knew that he had gotten stronger especially after accepting his recent rewards, but he has a feeling that he was still not strong enough to fight a Tier 7. Talk less of a Tier 8.
As for why he was curious, it was because he wondered if the reason why he was seeing a black hue was because of the Book of Death.
He had a feeling that the Book of Death might be able to influence what he sees with his Eyes of Truth and Judgement.
But regardless of that, he knew that he had to be careful.
'Even if it's the Book of Death that's influencing my Eyes of Truth and Judgement, I should still be careful.'
'Although the Universal System gave me the Book of Death as a reward, it might still be harmful to me... If anything, its name should serve as a reason as to why it could be harmful to me.'
Corey narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at the Chained Firmament, and then he shifted his attention to the last colour that he was seeing through his Eyes of Truth and Judgement.
Gold
Gold meant opportunity and the best path for him to take.
Corey knew that the Chained Firmament would most likely have a lot of treasures, but for his Eyes of Truth and Judgement to show him that there was a golden opportunity that would be truly beneficial for him on the Chained Firmament.
If not for all of these reasons, Corey might have decided to explore the Chained Firmament on another day, and chose to look for more Infinity Crystal fragments instead.
To him, the Infinity Crystal fragments scattered all over the world were far more precious than whatever he was going to get on the Chained Firmament.
Jeremy, Elizabeth, Matias, Rorik, Caesar, Pamela, Kiefer, Selene, and Willow took a step on the golden Chain of Sovereignty with the red rope tied around their waist.
Corey was about to deactivate his Eyes of Truth and Judgement, but then out of pure curiosity, he decided to look at Jeremy, Pamela, and the rest with his Eyes of Truth and Judgement.
He wanted to know what colours he was going to see, but the moment he looked at them, his eyes instantly landed on Caesar.
Surrounding Caesar were multiple colors- Indigo, Blue, Orange, and a deep red colour.
'A threat?'
