Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 919: 916: Crazy Bastard

"Ryan. Let's spar."

These very familiar words were like the buzz of a rather persistent mosquito he could not seem to kill no matter what.

He looked at Jeremy Draker who had entered his room without asking for his permission, and who was standing by the entrance with a battle-ready expression.

The King of the Kingdom of Miracles was tall, about a head shorter than Corey. He was a broad-shouldered man with scars and signs of battles all over his skin. He also had short black hair with a tinge of silver on the left side of his hair, and sharp blue eyes which seemed to a depth that was not normal for a man his age and Tier level.

Jeremy Draker was a fairly handsome man with a neatly kept beard that framed his strong jaw.

He also wore a flowing white cloak that was trimmed with gold, and on his shoulders were gem-studded clasps. Beneath his regal cloak of white and gold was an armor that was crafted from polished white steel, and etched with intricate golden runes. On his head was a crown of pure gold that was shaped with elegant, rising arcs and set with a single large sapphire at its center.

His right hand was on the hilt of Aurelius, the sword of generations of Heroes that was said to have slain dragons, demons, and terrible creatures of myths and legends. A weapon that was said to shine brighter and become much sharper when wielded for a righteous cause.

Sigh

Corey sighed while holding the bridge of his nose with a frustrated expression.

"Despite being King, are you not meant to knock and ask for permission before barging into somebody's room?"

"I'm the King."

Jeremy Draker had a stoic expression as he replied, and Corey's lips twitched with further annoyance and frustration.

This was another part of Jeremy Draker that frustrated and annoyed him.

He wasn't sure if the training freak was doing it just to piss him off, but he loved to make use of his status as King to be well... impolite.

And it pissed him off.

Corey clicked his tongue in annoyance as he took his mug and stored it in his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

"We'll soon be leaving, so we don't have time for a spar."

He stood, and was about to pass Jeremy, but Jeremy stood in front of him with the same stoic expression.

"You've been avoiding me for days now."

"Yeah. Because I also have other things to do apart from spar with you." Corey frowned.

'You're also one of the reasons why I could not accept my rewards until now, you bloody training freak.'

A tinge of irritation flashed in Corey's eyes, and Jeremy also frowned.

"I understand. But one should always train to make improvements. No matter how little."

Corey's lips twitched slightly. "I train using my own methods."

"What methods? Teach me?"

Corey did not reply, and he attempted to walk past Jeremy, but he was stopped once again, and Corey looked at him dead in the eye.

Although he emitted no sign of ill intent, Jeremy's eyes wavered slightly for a second, surprising both Corey and Jeremy.

Jeremy frowned with a startled and baffled expression. Meanwhile, Corey's expression was the same and did not change in the slightest.

However, he was inwardly thinking of what could have caused Jeremy to have such a reaction. And it did not take him up to a second to figure out the reason.

His Undying Will.

With him getting a Will, his gaze and presence was now more unfathomable. Although his Stars of Consciousness had reduced the output of his Will to the bare minimum so that it could be understood and not cause unnecessary attention, his gaze and presence was still affected by it.

'Hmm... Although he's annoying, I can attest to Jeremy's extremely strong and relentless attitude and state of mind. He rarely experiences fear even in the face of death.'

'I wonder what would happen if I show killing intent or true anger? Will people at the level of Jeremy Draker tremble in fear?'

'How curious... I might need to start wearing shades to hide my gaze.'

Corey wondered inwardly, and then he passed Draker and opened the door slightly.

However, Jeremy suddenly grabbed his hand and stopped him from further opening the door.

This time around, Corey was beginning to truly get annoyed.

"What the hell are you doing? I can see that the exploration parties are almost ready. We should not be foolishly wasting our energy on a pointless spar."

Jeremy frowned. "It's not pointless. We'll both improve."

Corey raised a brow, and looked at Jeremy with a truly surprised expression. "We'll both improve? How will I improve when you're so weak?"

Despite saying this, there was no sign of anger or fury in the eyes of Jeremy Draker, and Corey expected this because he had told him so many times that he was weak.

And it never made the King of the Kingdom of Miracles angry or have ill intentions toward him.

'Or maybe it's because I've been saying that that this bastard can never seem to let me live my life in peace.'

Corey's brows twitched when he saw the blazing fire of determination that most would not notice in the depths of Jeremy Draker's eyes.

'Damned crazy maniac.'

Corey clicked his tongue, and he removed Jeremy's hand from his. Just as he was about to open the door completely, Jeremy spoke.

"I completely agree that I'm weak, and I want to get stronger. Much stronger. Much much stronger."

Corey paused, and looked at Jeremy with a slight furrow of his brows.

"Since a spar would not benefit you, I want you to teach me. Teach me so that I'll become strong. I've seen you teach your friends, and I've seen the improvement they have made in just a few days. So teach me so that I can also get stronger."

"Who knows. It might be this slight gain in strength that would make me survive whatever we meet up there."

Corey was about to completely refuse, but Jeremy spoke before he could.

"If you don't agree to teach me, you won't be allowed to climb this Chain of Sovereignty."

Corey raised his brows in pure amusement.

"Is that a threat?"

"Yes."

"And do you think you or your people would be able to stop me?"

Jeremy shrugged. "We might not be able to stop you at the end of the day since I don't know how strong you are. But I don't care."

Corey narrowed his eyes with a truly confused expression. "Your kingdom could become nothing but a memory of the past if I become your enemy. You're okay with that?"

"As long as I can get stronger the right way." Jeremy said solemnly, and Corey held the bridge of his nose.

"Crazy bastard."

For the first time, Jeremy smiled.
