Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 893: 890: How?

"You're not worthy."

The second after Corey said these words, he suddenly tilted his head to the right.

A fraction of a second later, the sound of an object shattering into pieces resounded loudly.

Corey calmly looked at the source of the sound, and he saw the shattered remains of the cup of coffee he had given the Archmage.

The Archmage had used his power to send the cup towards him at a speed that was so fast to the point that an average peak Tier 5 would not be able to react to.

'If I had not been on guard, that cup would have caused me grievous injuries to my head... It might have killed me.'

Corey's gaze became slightly solemn, but there was not the slightest bit of concern or hesitation in fighting the corrupted Archmage.

Drip

The soft sound of something dripping drifted into his ears, and he looked at his cloth. He saw a blood stain on it, and then he touched the side of his cheek.

A thin cut that bled profusely could be felt by his fingers, and he looked at his blood stained fingers with a confused and yet intrigued light.

'For a tiny cut like that, I'm not meant to bleed this much. Is that another one of his abilities?'

'The ability to make injuries caused by his powers to bleed profusely?'

'And there's one more... I didn't feel the cut.'

'If I had not heard the sound of something dripping, I believe it would have taken me more time to realize that I was cut.'

'What a deadly yet fascinating combination of powers.'

Corey's eyes sparked with visible intrigue, and he would have kept on analyzing the power if not for his senses perceiving a growing danger in the unique space he was in.

"You're dead."

Corey calmly used Dream Healing to remove the power that was making him to bleed profusely from his cheek, and in less than two seconds, the cut on his cheek was no more.

Although the power was something he had not come across before, the injury was too small and light, and his Stars of Consciousness were able to analyse the power and counter it with Dream Healing.

Archmage Kael narrowed his eyes at the speed of Corey's healing ability, but that did not stop him from attacking Corey.

All the fleshy branches of the dead black tree suddenly pointed at Corey, and Corey's pupils constricted to pinholes when he felt his instincts scream at him.

Black lightning appeared on his feet, and in a fraction of a second, he vanished. Leaving behind arcs of black lightning that scorched the table and the chair he was sitting on.

The ground where he sat exploded into pieces, and bony roots pierced his chair and table, shattering it into pieces.

Archmage Kael was not surprised by this, having expected Corey to be able to react to the attack. He had been watching Corey for some time now, so he knew that his perception was exceptionally high.

Meanwhile, Corey appeared a hundred meters from his previous position with black lightning still streaming across his legs.

The moment he stopped, all the branches shot at him, and countless fleshy and bony branches shot at him.

Corey's eyes widened slightly, and he moved once again, running across the space at a speed that was just barely faster than the speed of the tree's attack.

The ground shattered and dust that was charged with electricity rose into the air as Corey ran at an extremely fast speed, dodging every single attack of the tree.

Corey glanced at the tree, and his eyes flashed when he noticed something.

'So, new branches are instantly formed the moment the tree shoots out a branch. Which means that the tree can almost keep on doing this indefinitely.'

Corey was about to look away, but then he saw Archmage Kael reaching out to the crown of bones below him.

'So I was right.'

The corner of his lips curled up slightly, and his Eyes of Omniscience switched to his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

The golden triangular pupils in each eye rotated and glowed with a golden light, and then he vanished.

In his place, a crown of black bones appeared, and the fleshy branches of the tree hit the crown.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

A cataclysmic explosion shook the very foundations of the space as the fleshy branches slammed into the crown, and then a scream resounded across the entire space.

The scream was like that of a million souls of men, women, children, and beasts at the same time.

It was like countless beings were screaming in pain at the same time, and the source of this scream was Archmage Kael and the tree itself.

Countless black eyes appeared on the new branches of the tree, and these black eyes were filled with so much fury, pain, and madness that it could drown an entire planet in its depths of fury, pain, and madness.

Each black eye profusely bled black blood, and a deep hole could be seen on the trunk of the tree.

Meanwhile, Archmage Kael had coughed out a mouthful of black blood the moment the fleshy branches collided with the crown of black bones.

His eye turned red, and Corey could see something beginning to wiggle its way into the empty socket of the Archmage.

It was like looking at countless maggots devouring each other and growing bigger.

It felt exceedingly disgusting, and Corey could attest to that despite encountering a lot of disgusting and horrifying entities in his life.

However, his attention was not on that at all.

In his hands was his massive Genesis Armament that was glowing with a heavy, yet exceedingly sharp and poisonous light.

"How?" Archmage Kael asked with a gaze filled with nothing but pure rage and madness.

However, Corey said nothing in response.

He just swung his massive giant axe, and uttered the words.
