Chapter 771: 768: His Real Name?
"Those eyes... Are those... No... It can't be... The eyes of a..."
'Paragon?'
Pope Arzhel remained rooted on the spot as he stared in Corey's direction with a shaken expression of immense disbelief and even fear.
Numerous thoughts flashed in his mind, and some moments later, a drop of sweat appeared on his forehead.
'There's no way that kid is a... I definitely saw wrong... If he's a... Then that means the chances of us obtaining this world's core is extremely slim.'
'Should I report it?... No... It was just a glimpse... And if I'm wrong, I'll suffer for it... I might even get investigated and the consequences of that would be unimaginable.'
'I more proof... But he's just a Mortal... And they are always a lot stronger than this... They're usually in the ranks of Immortals... And they usually influence Great Wars that can shake the entire Universe.'
'I've never heard of a... being in the ranks of Mortals... But... If he's a... Doesn't that mean his combat prowess can be explained?... A mortal... should have that sort of combat prowess right?'
'Only the bloodline of one of the most elusive, mysterious, and terrifying races would be able to give a Mortal that sort of unreasonable combat prowess.'
'Hmm... There are so many secrets in this world... It's unfortunate that I ignored this world in the past.'
Sigh
Pope Arzhel sighed out loud, and then a chuckle escaped his lips as he covered his eyes with his hands.
He opened his fingers, allowing his eyes to be seen, and then a wide smile could be seen on his mouth.
"Why am I having such thoughts? Shouldn't I be happy that I might have the opportunity to study the body of a..."
'Paragon?'
The thought of having the opportunity to study the blood, bones, and flesh of a Paragon almost sent the Pope into ecstacy, and his gaze contained so many emotions that would frighten the mind of a child and even an adult mortal.
Pope Arzhel took in a deep breath and exhaled, trying his best to calm his excited emotions.
"It's annoying that I dare not speak out the name of that race or I'll be marked by the system."
Pope Arzhel clicked his tongue, and then he looked to his left. He saw Tessa hovering beside him with an uncomfortable and baffled expression.
He smiled, "What's with that expression... my dear daughter?"
Tessa's expression became twisted, and for a fraction of a second, her face changed to that of another person, but it was merely for a fraction of a second.
However, Pope Arzhel's smile slowly disappeared when he saw this, and a dark expression appeared on his face.
Tessa did not seem to notice the Pope's expression, and if she did, she did not care.
"Why did you allow him to leave?"
The Pope remained silent for some seconds, and then his expression eased up as his smile returned.
"I saw something and I was stunned... Besides, that artifact of his is extremely unique. It allows him to move as fast as a Tier 6 that focuses on speed."
Tessa looked in Corey's direction and narrowed her eyes, "Who is he? And what is his real name? Not that Smile Reaper crap we know him as."
The Pope's eyes shone with a contemplative light, and then he came to a decision.
"Let's find out then, shall we?"
Tessa looked at the Pope, and then her eyes landed on the Pope's left palm.
On his palm was a black orb with golden runes on it. The aura it emitted was similar to the aura of the Supreme Eye that appeared not too long ago.
If Corey were here, he would do all he could to smash the black orb to pieces.
Why?
Because Nina would tell him to, and warn him of its function.
The function of this black orb was that the owner could ask it any question, and as long as the black orb was filled with enough souls and blood, it'll answer any question about the universe.
"You're using a Supreme Treasure just to find out his real name?"
Tessa exclaimed with disbelief, and Pope Arzhel nodded with a solemn expression.
"If my intuition is correct, then I think I'll need to use this Supreme Treasure to figure out his real name."
Tessa shifted her gaze from the black sphere to the Pope, and a baffled and suspicious expression appeared on her face.
"Can't you just use your Brand to find out his name? I'm sure that no matter how talented he is, his Brand Level is not close to yours at all."
"You can just ask the Universal System to show you his status screen, and if you can't see his entire status screen for some reason, you should be able to see his name at least."
"Using this Supreme Treasure seems like a waste to me. You can ask it any other important question about the universe, and it'll give you an answer."
"I remember how difficult it was for you to fill up the Supreme Treasure up to 70%. Do you really want to use part of the energy just for his name?"
Tessa tried to discourage Pope Arzhel from using the Supreme Treasure, but Pope Arzhel merely nodded once again with a solemn expression.
"That's my problem to deal with... And like I said, I believe in my intuition."
Tessa's lips quivered as she wanted to curse the Pope a million times over, but she kept all her thoughts to herself and said nothing.
However, her expression was cold.
Pope Arzhel did not care about Tessa's thoughts and feelings one bit. Instead, his mind was on whether he should just ask for Corey's real name or if he should ask for his status screen or if he should ask about his race.
But after giving it some thought, he decided to only ask about Corey's name. Just to play it safe.
"What is his real name?"
Pope Arzhel asked while sending a mental image of Corey into the Supreme Treasure.
A second later, the golden runes on the black orb glowed brightly, and then they moved.
A name was formed using the golden runes, and Pope Arzhel read it out loud with a baffled expression.
"Corey Junior Zane?"
The moment Pope Arzhel said these words, Tessa's voice drifted into his ears.
"Brother?"
Pope Arzhel snapped his head in Tessa's direction, and his pupils constricted into needle like points.
Tessa's face had changed, and if Corey were here, he would instantly recognize the face that was on Tessa's head.
Anna.
