Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 532 531: The Queen's Song

The sound came like a ripple in the air, a faint, haunting hum that barely brushed against the ears at first. It was soft, almost beautiful, like the lullaby of the legendary siren.

But as the hum grew louder, it became clear that this was no ordinary sound. It was a melody that was not meant to be heard by humans, it was a song that felt ancient and incomprehensible.

Corey's breath stopped as his instincts sent constant warnings of danger through his mind. His Ears of Omniscience picked up every note of the strange song, each one weaving together to form a chaotic harmony that seemed to touch not just his ears but his very soul.

The melody twisted and turned, carrying emotions he couldn't fully comprehend at first. He felt grief, rage, despair, and longing, all crashing into one another in an overwhelming tide.

'The Song of The Queen?'

Then the world around him began to react.

The Water of Purity, once calm and serene, was the first to change.

Its crystal-clear surface rippled violently as if shuddering in both fear and awe. Waves rose and fell erratically, crashing into one another as the song's vibrations seemed to stir something deep within the water.

An unknown amount of time later, rain began to fall.

However, it wasn't ordinary rain.

The droplets shimmered faintly with an ethereal light, and each one emitted a soft blue glow as it fell from the darkened sky.

The rain struck the surface of the water like falling stars, causing faint ripples that radiated outward in mesmerizing patterns. The atmosphere then grew heavy with moisture, the air carrying the clean, sharp scent of fresh rain mingled with an unshakable tension.

The rain then grew heavier, transforming into a torrential downpour that pounded against the Water of Purity. Each droplet seemed alive, resonating with the song's haunting melody as though it were part of the music itself.

The sound of the rain combined with the song, creating a symphony that was as beautiful as it was terrifying.

Across the boundary, the Water of Calamity erupted in chaos.

Blackened waves surged upward, sending jets of steaming, scalding water into the air. The heat intensified, warping the air around it, and creating a mirage-like haze that danced ominously above the surface.

The water bubbled and hissed, almost as if the song itself was pulling the corruption from its depths.

The very colour of the water darkened, becoming an even deeper, more menacing black, streaked with faint, glowing veins of crimson that pulsed in time with the song. The air above the Water of Calamity shimmered like heat waves, warping and distorting the space as though the fabric of reality was being pulled apart.

At the boundary where the two waters met, the conflict reached a terrifying crescendo.

The song seemed to amplify the eternal clash between purity and corruption, driving the waters into a frenzy. Towering waves, each one easily the size of a Goliathspawn, rose into the sky before colliding with an explosive force that sent shockwaves rippling through the air.

The sound was deafening, and every single Outsider and Tainted, including Corey, was forced to cover their ears.

All across the Shattered Sea, Outsiders and Tainteds screamed in agony.

Some clutched their heads as blood poured from their ears and noses, and those who had been hovering above the Water of Purity to cleanse their bodies of impurities fell into the roaring sea.

Their deaths were all but certain.

Others collapsed onto the trembling bodies of the Goliathspawns, while some descended into madness, their cries turning to guttural roars as they lashed out at anything and everything around them.

Even the colossal beasts, the Goliathspawns, reacted.

The crab-like beast Corey and the others stood upon began to tremble, its massive legs shifted uneasily beneath its mountainous frame. Its claw clicked together with a sound that was akin to a grinding stone, and then, a low, guttural roar rumbled from deep within its body, reverberating across the sea like an earthquake.

Other Goliathspawns responded in kind.

A titanic jellyfish-like creature rose above the raging Water of Purity, and then it walked on the sea with its tentacles.

Further away, the mammoth turtle Goliathspawn with crystalline trees and spikes on its shell raised its three heads, and each one released a bone-shaking screech that echoed through the chaos.

The Goliathspawns which were normally slow and placid, began to move with purpose. Their massive bodies shifted, and their glowing eyes were fixated on the bubbling and surging Water of Calamity.

As the Goliathspawns approached the Water of Calamity, the calamities finally made their appearance.

From the depths of the Water of Calamity, black, twisted shapes began to emerge. The first was slow, like a shadow breaking free from the sea's surface, but as the song grew louder, more began to rise.

They were hideous, grotesque amalgamations of beast and nightmare.

One had the head of a rotting shark with glowing red eyes and countless tentacles writhing where its fins should have been. Another was a monstrous, humanoid figure covered in jagged black scales, its elongated arms ended with claws that dripped with acidic green slime.

The abominations varied in form, but all shared the same aura of corruption and malice. Their very presence made the air heavier, and harder to breathe, and the space around them warped as if the space of the Shattered Sea was rejecting their existence.

The abominations surged toward the centre of the Shattered Sea, and though their movements were erratic, it was purposeful.

Some launched themselves into the air, leaping across the waves with impossible speed, while others dove beneath the surface, their glowing forms visible through the murky water.

The song became louder and more chaotic until it seemed to fill every corner of the Shattered Sea. The abominations screeched in response, their cries mingling with the roars of the Goliathspawns.

Corey watched in silence, his pure white eyes glowing faintly as his Ears of Omniscience picked apart the layers of the melody.

He could hear the anguish in its notes, the fury in its rhythm, and the longing in its pauses. Corey then realized that the song wasn't just a song, it was something else.

He pushed the job of deciphering the song to his stars of consciousness, but just as he was about to focus on his surroundings, his stars of consciousness alerted him to a horrifying detail of the song.

His stars of consciousness had deciphered a part of the song, and what they deciphered sent chills across Corey's entire body and soul.

"From the depths of broken tides, I sing,

Through shattered realms where shadows cling.

The waters rise, the storms will rend,

For cycles must break and powers must bend.

Hear me, children of the darkened sea,

Bind the thief who carries infinity.

Through the crystals he bears, my strength shall soar,

A queen reborn, to rule once more.

Chains of purity, grasp the light,

Corruption's claws, take flight, take flight.

The song shall guide, the abyss shall bind,

Bring the trespasser to the depths confined.

Oh tides of fury, drown his soul,

Flood his will and make me whole.

By the crystal's gleam and power untold,

A crown reforged, my dominion to hold.

Sing with me, you beasts of night,

With fangs and claws, enforce my right.

Goliaths rise, with steps so vast,

Let no shadow escape the past.

Capture the bearer, bring him near,

Through his pain, the path is clear.

A storm eternal, my reign will rise,

Till the Shattered Sea touches the skies.

And when his cries meet the breaking wave,

The crystals shall fall to the one they enslave.

From chaos born, my reign shall be,

A queen eternal upon the sea."

'...'

'Oh shit.'
