Chapter 1040: 1037: Especially You
One of the things Corey gained after fusing with the world tree was obtaining a new ability of his Void Phoenix Heart.
Void Crystallization
It was an ability that allowed him to crystallize both living and non-living things using his Void Force and void energy.
With this ability, he was able to keep Tessa close to him, and he was more confident in keeping her safe.
Unfortunately, he could not store Tessa in his Tri-Pupil Eyes despite using void crystallization on her. She was still a living being, and his Tri-Pupil Eyes was currently not meant for the storage of living beings.
Corey held the void crystal with a sigh of relief, and then he created a chain made out of gold in the blink of an eye.
He attached the void crystal to the golden chain, and then he wore it around his neck.
'Heavy.'
Corey thought as he wore the chain and the void crystal. It was like a person was hanging from his neck, and for somebody like Tessa who had extremely high physical strength, her weight was not little at all.
'But it's still very manageable.' Corey thought, and then he looked at the Pope.
The Pope was trying to speak, and Corey could see the furious and anxious expression of the Pope.
The Pope was about to shatter the Noxious Chains, but Corey knew that it would take about five seconds before he's able to destroy the chains.
Because he caught Pope Arzhel off guard, the chains not only bound him, but it also infused a mixture of poisons that interrupted his mana circulation, spirit, and even physical energies.
As Corey watched the Pope attempt to shatter the chains, he came to a decision, and then he swung his hand.
His Genesis Armament appeared in his hand as he swung it, and then, Pope Arzhel's Head went flying.
He did not stop there, he used Dreamfire to burn the Pope to ashes, and it was only then, he released a soft breath.
'Better dead than alive.'
Corey had been contemplating whether he should allow the Pope to live and convince the man to join them against the Clown since it seemed like the Clown was not able to turn the Pope into his puppet for some reason.
However, when he felt the dense killing intent that was being exuded by the Pope because he sealed Tessa, he knew that the Pope would never choose to work with him unless he provided Tessa back to him.
And he would never do that.
Besides, he could not bring himself to work with the person that killed his parents. He just could not.
Which was why he chose to kill him despite knowing that the addition of the Pope to their side would help them against the Clown.
"Are you done, Corey?"
The Clown's voice drifted into his ears, and Corey looked at him.
"I thought you were going to attack me or try to kill her again." He said out of pure curiosity, and the Clown nonchalantly waved his hand.
"Nahh. I already did that once, so there's no fun in doing it again. Besides, if I took your sister hostage, it would really kill the fun." The Clown looked at him with a smile. "So, are you ready, Corey?"
Corey looked at the Clown with a frown.
"I just can't understand you no matter what."
"You aren't the first and wouldn't be the last to say that." The Clown chuckled.
Corey took a step forward, and then he appeared beside Pamela, Jeremy, Queen Nerith, Caesar, Mathias, Rorik, and Elizabeth.
They looked at Corey with questions on their faces, and the person that wanted to know th answer to her question more than anybody was Queen Nerith.
"You fused with the world tree... You took it away from me. How? Why?"
Corey looked at her but he didn't give an answer to her question.
"If you want the answer to your question, you have to survive first of all. Get up and fight."
He looked at the others with a cold expression.
"That includes all of you."
Jeremy and his companions had strange expressions on their faces, but they nevertheless understood that the time for questions was later. Now was the time for battle.
"Tell me you have a plan, Corey. Cause if you-"
"There's no plan."
Corey cut off Pamela, causing her to curse out loud.
"Damn it. Then we're just going to fight that army without any plan?"
Corey looked at the Clown who was nonchalantly trimming his nails and inspecting it with a bored aura.
"Queen Nerith, you'll have to fight your daughter and one of the Immortals from the Supreme God Empire."
"Wait, what?" Queen Nerith exclaimed in disbelief.
"I can't do that. You can't expect me fight my own daughter." She said.
"You have no choice. You can't defeat the two Tier 7s from the Supreme God Empire on your own. If you can't kill her, knock her out... Unless you want me to fight her instead, but I would most likely kill her since fighting the Clown is already an enormous task on its own."
Queen Nerith gnashed her teeth in frustration and anger. "Alright. I'll deal with my daughter."
Corey nodded. "Good. Thalos will deal with Syrelle."
Queen Nerith clenched her hands in anger when she heard this. It hurt her more than anything that her family had to fight one another.
Corey looked at Pamela. "You'll have to fight the Tier 6s. Kill as many as possible, and try to help Thalos and the Queen if you see they're in danger. If either one of them falls before killing a Tier 7, things would become more difficult for us."
Pamela's lips twitched when she heard this. "Seriously? You're giving me so much work to do. Do you actually plan on using these bastards to kill me?"
Corey ignored her and looked at Jeremy and his friends.
"Bastard." Pamela cursed at him.
"You guys would assist Pamela and take down the Tier 5s and Tier 6s. Also, whenever you see that Pamela's life is in danger, you must protect her no matter what."
"Make sure none of you die..." He then looked at Jeremy. "Especially you, Jeremy."
