Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1013: 1010: Very Good

"Are you trying to fucking kill me? I thought we were on the same side?!"

Corey was taken aback when he heard the world tree's voice that was full of rage and anxiety.

Corey tilted his head slightly, and then he looked at his hands that were coated with the light of divinity.

A second later, he stopped sending the world tree's divinity into his Cosmic Soul, much to the immense disappointment of his Cosmic Soul.

'Don't worry. You'll definitely get more divinity in the future.'

Corey consoled his Cosmic Soul, and then he looked in the direction of the tiny world tree that was still growing at a rapid pace.

"I didn't know you could speak while the fusion was still going on."

"You damned bastard. I'm not meant to be conscious until the fusion is nearly complete, but your attempt to kill me clearly woke me up!"

Corey said nothing at the words of the world tree since a part of him somewhat expected such a reaction from the world tree.

"Why the fuck are you so abnormal? If I ignore the fact that you nearly killed me which should be impossible, why the hell are you conscious? Why the hell were you able to absorb my divinity? And why the hell is your Tier still at Tier 4? Just how unfathomably deep is your potential?"

"What sort of monster are you?"

Corey tilted his head slightly and replied indifferently. "Who knows."

"Freaking monster. How can a mortal absorb divinity? What the hell is wrong with your soul? What the hell is up with your body? Why the hell is your Sea of Consciousness so pure and vast for a mortal?"

"And why do I feel the presence of so many powerful beings in you. Just what sort of a monster are you?"

Corey did not bother replying the world tree's repetitive questions. Instead, his focus was more on the world tree itself as she slowly grew bigger to the point where he had to start looking up.

"How big are you going to get? Don't tell me you're going to become your original size?"

"Are you joking? Of course I'll become like my original size. Your mental energy and spiritual energy is unlike anything a mortal is ever meant to have. I feel like if I keep on absorbing your Sea of Consciousness without caring for your life, I'll definitely experience an evolution in a year or two."

"A year or two is a lot of time." Corey said while folding his arms as he kept on looking at the growing world tree with interest.

"For a being like me who has lived for nearly a hundred thousand years, its nothing."

"Hmm."

Corey nodded slightly, and then he shifted his attention from the world tree to his Cosmic Soul.

Although the world tree had stopped him from transferring her divinity into his Cosmic Soul because it weakened her severely, she did not stop him from transferring her lightning and divine silver essence into his Cosmic Soul.

'Although it's divine silver, the core part of it which is divinity is absent... However, it's a lot more powerful and complex than normal silver and metals.'

Corey could feel his body changing as his lightning affinity increased, and he also obtained metal affinity.

'Hmm. I have metal resistance that's at Level 5, and now I'm getting metal affinity. Should that be possible?'

A pondering light flashed in Corey's eyes, and then he shifted his focus to his soul origin where the cracks on a chain was slowly but steadily increasing.

"It seems I might become you might become my master in the future."

"Hmm?" Corey looked at the world tree with a raised brow, and the world tree scoffed.

"Don't act like you didn't hear me."

Corey chuckled softly. "What Tier do you think I'll reach at this rate?"

"Tier 5... The peak of Tier 5."

"Hmm... Hopefully it's enough to win against our enemies." Corey looked up with a calculating glint in his eye.

"With how absurd your foundation is, I'll be surprised if it isn't."

Corey said nothing in response to the world tree because he knew something that the world tree did not.

'Although I'm a Tier 4, my stats are not in the Black Star Realm in the slightest. If I was to take a guess, my stats barely crossed into the Violet Star Realm... Approximately 5%. But that's not enough.'

'It's the same reason Pamela knows she doesn't have a chance against an Immortal despite being a Tier 4 with her foundation.'

'Asides from that, I'm not getting the skills and abilities I would have gotten if I ascended to Tier 5 normally.'

'My physical stats have increased tremendously, but I'm worried it might not be enough against an Immortal... Especially when that mortal has an item like the Book of Death. Who knows what abilities that kid got.'

'Sigh.'

'The gap between an Immortal and a Mystic Being is truly unfathomable... The World Tree is why I can get a glimpse of this gap.'

As Corey had these thoughts, the world tree spoke.

"Why do you have such an expression? What are you thinking about?"

Corey shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Just focus on the fusion."

"Hmm. It should be done in a minute, and then our lives would depend on you."

Corey's lips twitched slightly. "Hopefully, we don't die."

"Hopefully? You better make sure we don't!"

Corey chuckled, and then a few moments later, the world tree stopped growing.

In his mental space was the world tree in its full glory, its roots were deep in his Sea of Consciousness and in the sky of his Sea of Consciousness which was filled with his Stars of Consciousness were her silver branches which was slowly being filled with lightning.

"I guess it's time."

Corey closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was back in the real world.

And when he felt the power coursing through his veins, he nodded.

"Very good."
