Chapter 368: Chapter 365.
Chapter 365.
Wang Feng stood there, panting as he quickly regained his composure. He inhaled the chaotic energy swirling around him, transforming it into pure soul power after it had been tempered by Meteoric Tears.
Tang San and Hu Liena remained silent, waiting quietly for Wang Feng to recover.
After a moment, Wang Feng approached the two again.
"How are you both holding?" he asked, noting the way the earlier turbulence had scattered bloody magma, which could easily cause injury. Thankfully, Hu Liena had been thrown a bit farther away.
Tang San had managed to avoid most of it.
"Fortunately, we're good. Are you okay?" he replied, shaking his head and concerned for Wang Feng's well-being. "Do you have any physical injuries?"
Wang Feng sighed. "I do have some injuries."
Upon hearing this, Tang San felt a wave of relief. He thought to himself that if Wang Feng had been unscathed, it would have been hard to believe.
"Is it an internal injury?" Tang San quickly asked, his brow furrowed with concern. "Is it serious?"
Wang Feng had just unleashed a powerful punch to break the the last final attack, and while the strike had been successful, it could have caused some internal damage.
But then, to his surprise, Wang Feng continued, "I just dislocated my elbow. I pushed too hard earlier."
With that, Wang Feng pressed on his right elbow with his left hand, lifting it lightly. There was a soft click, and just like that, it was back in place. He then waved his right hand and nodded slightly. "Alright, I'm recovering."
Tang San stared at him in disbelief.
Is that all? Just a dislocated elbow? If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed it.
Tang San fixed his gaze on Wang Feng for several seconds, speechless. He could hardly detect any injuries. Of course, it was also possible that Wang Feng was hiding his condition well, remaining cautious around them. That seemed normal enough, and Tang San decided not to pry further.
Wang Feng then turned his attention to Hu Liena, who appeared somewhat dazed. "How are you?" he asked.
"I'm also okay…" she replied, seemingly enveloped in a haze, as if she had just emerged from a sauna. It was clear that while she had been away from Wang Feng, the disorienting environment had taken its toll on her.
Wang Feng helped Hu Liena absorb the murderous intent and ferocity lingering in her body before hoisting her onto his back. Together with Tang San, they made their way toward the entrance of the high platform.
This time, due to his enhanced control, Wang Feng guided Tang San to step lightly on the sharp blades, allowing him to ascend effortlessly into the air. With the assistance of Tang San's flying claws, they climbed up with ease, and Tang San didn't even need to use his Blue Silver Grass.
On the other side of the hole, a refreshing breeze flowed, providing a stark contrast to the oppressive atmosphere they had just escaped. As Tang San stood there, he felt that he would never forget this harrowing section of hell. The experience had been nothing short of excruciating.
Looking down at the boiling blood pool below, Tang San recalled the events of the past two years, suddenly struck by a realization.
"What are you waiting for?" Wang Feng asked, puzzled by Tang San's sudden stillness.
"This sinful place deserves redemption…" Tang San replied, his tone chilling as he took a deep breath. He reached into his treasure bag and produced a special herb.
Seeing this, Wang Feng's interest was piqued. The herb was called "Divine Snoq Swan Kiss," a unique type of fairy grass from the Yin and Yang Ice Fire Lake.
The herb itself was harmless, but it possessed the ability to activate toxins a thousandfold, amplifying their effects. The snow-white fairy grass appeared almost out of place amidst the grim surroundings of hell.
Tang San held the Divine Snow Swan Kiss in his trembling hand, his expression somber. Every soul master carries some degree of toxin within their body. In his previous life, even though people seemed healthy, but they harbored hidden toxins—harmless yet present. Just inhaling this Divine Snow Swan Kiss could potentially poison them to death!
Wang Feng silently pondered, even current soul masters are not exempt... except for me, of course. His body was exceptionally pure; any trace of toxin that entered would be instantly purified, including through consumption.
Though Wang Feng could abstain from food for long periods, his love for food, along with his heritage as a descendant of China, ensured that he still enjoyed eating.
The blood pool served as the energy source for the Slaughter City. If the Divine Snow Swan Kiss were thrown into it, the entire city would face deadly poisoning. It was crucial to note that the toxins within the residents of the Slaughter City far surpassed those of ordinary soul masters. After all, those who drank Bloody Mary all year round accumulated untold toxins in their bodies.
Wang Feng didn't stop Tang San, he watched as Tang San tossed the Divine Snow Swan Kiss into the blood pool. Afterward, he and Wang Feng turned and crawled toward the cave's entrance.
Wang Feng and Tang –San turned and –crawled toward the cave's entrance. As they ascended, the opening above them began to brighten, revealing a –faint white light—an ethereal glow that resembled an enchantment.
Once Wang Feng's body passed through the barrier, a familiar voice echoed in his mind:
"Congratulations to the host for successfully checking in! You have received one of the first halves of the Heaven Nine Secret! In addition, a 90,000-year soul ring, you will also receive an additional reward: the 20,000-year enhancement of any soul ring of your choice."
"The next check-in location is in the center of the Star Dou Great Forest. There are no requirements for additional rewards."
Hearing this voice, Wang Feng felt a slight jolt of surprise. The Nine Secrets? Did it encompass the legendary "Heaven Nine Secrets"?
Thoughts raced through Wang Feng's mind. In his previous life, he had encountered many references to this text and understood its significance. The Nine Secrets were said to have been created by nine ancient celestial deities. These ultimate secret techniques were tailored for human cultivation. Originally, they existed as one, but due to their extraordinary power, they were deemed intolerable by the laws of the universe and subsequently divided into nine parts. It appeared that two of these had been lost to time. Wang Feng had known most of them, and he knew a bit about their nature.
Each of the other eight secrets was mysterious in its own right, but the first–, known simply as the "Word Secret," focused on cultivating spiritual consciousness and condensing the soul. Practicing it to its fullest extent was said to grant the ability to foresee impending misfortune.
Wang Feng wasn't –particularly concerned with predicting the future, but the prospect of cultivating spiritual consciousness and condensing the soul was precisely what he desired. Although the world's rules varied, divine consciousness was merely a different expression of spiritual power, and the primordial spirit represented the soul. This "Word Secret" seemed well-suited to him at this moment.
Even if it was only half of the technique, it was enough. Half of such an extraordinary secret method would provide ample opportunity for Wang Feng to develop his abilities now.
As he contemplated this, curiosity stirred within him. So far, he realized he hadn't practiced any secret techniques. While Tang San possessed some, he had never shared them. Without the opportunity to create his own techniques, Wang Feng knew it would be impossible to develop such methods quickly. Crafting secret techniques required a deep understanding of the world, its laws, and the experiences of life. Wang Feng believed that he could eventually create a unique technique, especially given that his body was no ordinary vessel. However, such endeavors were time-consuming.
Now, with this half-step secret in hand, Wang Feng was eager to see how it would resonate with his body and soul, which had been tempered by the Red Lotus Karmic Fire. He wondered if the sensation would be akin to that of flying.
