SICARII

Chapter 31: IVAN OF NORDIA

"I had a bad feeling Ivan was going to be here," Zak said, his voice low and tense. "He just loves any opportunity he can get to fight. I'm going to have to take him on. He's a bit stronger than me, but I know I can beat him."

"You'll have to take on Luca"

" If he's another one of your damn cousins," Luna replied, scanning the scene.

"No, he's not, but he grew up alongside us. His dad is a famous Berserker, so he was also trained at a young age. He's extremely skillful. So good luck; I know you can do this."

Zak and Luna flanked Ivan and Luca, trying to separate them. As they approached, Ivan and Luca noticed them, their expressions shifting from amusement to focus.

"Zakaria! Fancy seeing you here," Ivan said, a smirk crossing his face. "This is about to get fun. I was bored taking down these nobodies."

Zak laughed, confidence brimming in his voice. "I'm about to embarrass you in front of all the superiors."

"You know that's impossible," Ivan replied, chuckling as he reached for his back and drew his spear, the Luna Stinger. "Been a while since I've clashed with her."

With a sudden burst of energy, Ivan lunged at Zak, and their weapons collided. The storm cleavers generated large gusts of wind with each strike, while the Luna Stinger emitted a powerful white light. A thunderous bang echoed through the room as the two weapons met, each fighter grunting under the strain, neither one giving an inch.

Zak leaped into the air, aiming a strike at Ivan's head, but Ivan backflipped, creating distance and setting himself up for a series of quick, long-range attacks. Each thrust of the spear was followed by a blast of white energy, forcing Zak to dodge with agility, jumping around the room to evade the relentless onslaught.

With Ivan on the front foot, he leaped towards Zak and delivered a devastating kick to his stomach that sent Zak flying. Seizing the opportunity, Ivan unleashed a concentrated blast from his spear. The explosion erupted, engulfing Zak in a blinding light and a deafening roar. He was caught in the shockwave, sent crashing into a wall.

Luna gasped, her heart sinking at the sight. "Zak!" she cried out, instinctively rushing to his side. She watched in horror as he struggled to push himself up, the force of the blast having knocked the wind out of him. "Get up! You can't let him take you down like that!"

Luna's instincts kicked in; she needed to buy Zak time to recover. Determined, she took a step forward, ready to face Ivan head-on and engage the formidable giant.

However Luca got in her way. Luna took a step back, eyes locked on Luca. With a quick inhale, she rushed forward, unleashing a relentless flurry of slashes with her daggers. Each strike was fast, precise, and relentless, but Luca parried them all, his sword moving like a blur. Anticipating her rhythm, he counterattacked instantly, forcing Luna to weave and dodge as she looked for an opening.

Their clash was intense, a whirlwind of sparks and steel. Luna kept pressing, driving Luca back on the defensive, her confidence growing with each successful attack. Deciding to go for a finishing move, she channeled her energy into the blades, which crackled and sparked with fierce purple lightning. The electricity raged down the length of her daggers, illuminating the room with each surge.

Lunging forward, she aimed her electrified blades straight at Luca, who quickly recognized the danger. He dodged back, evading her blows, but Luna refused to relent, pushing forward in a barrage of electrified strikes. Luca attempted to counter, his sword swinging to regain the offensive, but she blocked every move, her daggers emitting arcs of purple lightning as they clashed.

Knowing she was close, Luna seized the moment and dropped low, sweeping Luca's legs with a quick kick. The maneuver caught him off guard, and he stumbled, trying to regain his balance. In a heartbeat, Luna sprang back up, twisting in midair and driving both lightning-charged daggers into his chest. The electric energy surged through him, and his body convulsed as the purple lightning enveloped him, until finally, with a last shudder, he collapsed and vanished in a flash of light.

She stood over where his body had been, her breathing heavy but triumphant, ready to turn her attention back to Zak and Ivan.
