Siblings with No Life Get Summoned to Another World as Detectives

Chapter 59: God of Humans

It was a vast chamber. A single great table of black stone stretched across the hall, its polished surface veined with cracks that glimmered faintly. With seven chairs.

At the head of the table sat the Goddess Nytherra. Her throne was not carved or forged, but assembled from countless bones, each one fitted perfectly into the next. Skulls lined the armrests, hollow eyes staring outward, while the spine of some ancient beast arched across the backrest like a crown of death.

Around her, four other Gods had taken their seats. Sareth, God of Demons, his horn curved and polished to a cruel gleam. Beside him loomed Rhazir, God of Bloodbeasts, his many-fanged grin betraying the hunger that no slaughter could satisfy.

Feloria, a Goddess of Neko, her eyes sparkling with mischievous seduction. And Veylith, God of Elementals, his skin nothing more than a steam.

Yet not all the thrones were filled. Two chairs stood empty.

The first had once belonged to Elmyra, Goddess of Elves — but her disobedience had cost her dearly. Stripped of her divinity and slain by the very hand of the High Goddess Nytherra.

The second chair belonged to the God of Humans. Unlike the others, he had never appeared at any gathering.

The meeting had barely begun when tension already thickened the air. Nytherra sat on her throne, her sharp purple eyes narrowing slightly. She leaned forward slowly, her clawed fingers drumming against the armrest with an almost predatory rhythm. Her gaze locked onto Feloria with such intensity.

"I know you've always longed for that sweet, pathetic little thing mortals call love," Nytherra hissed, her lips curling into a smile that was anything but warm. "But to strip Kai of his lust? That… ruins my plans."

Feloria's throat tightened. She swallowed hard. Slowly, she lowered her gaze, unable to withstand Nytherra's burning eyes. Her cat-like ears, usually perked with playful curiosity, drooped pitifully, betraying her shame and fear.

"I-I'm sorry…" she whispered, her voice fragile.

"Don't worry…" Nytherra purred, though her tone carried no comfort. "I'll just make a few adjustments…"

The room itself seemed to darken as she spoke, the bone throne creaking under her as if it, too, acknowledged her malice.

Since witnessing firsthand what Nytherra was capable of — the way she bent flesh, desire, and even the wills of gods to her amusement — the tension in the chamber had only grown unbearable. No one dared breathe too loudly, let alone speak.

Even Rhazir, the God of Bloodbeasts, who prided himself on never bowing to anyone, sat uncharacteristically still. His monstrous frame, always looming with smug confidence, now leaned back into shadow.

"By the way—" Nytherra's voice cut through the silence. "—it's time you meet the God of Humans… He's arriving now…"

A heavy pause followed, the words lingering in the air. The weight of them was enough to draw every gaze toward the massive double doors at the far end of the obsidian hall.

The room held its breath. Feloria's ears twitched nervously, her tail curling tightly around her leg. Sareth leaned forward with a wolfish grin. Rhazir's monstrous silhouette shifted, his claws scraping lightly against the stone table. While Veylith sat still, his red cape moving slowly.

The silence deepened.

Miyuki was walking toward Purravale, her steps light but her thoughts heavy. The meadow stretched endlessly before her, grass swaying gently in the breeze.

But calm never lasted.

Her ears twitched. A sound cut through the hush of the meadow — sharp, unmistakable. The rapid flutter of wings. Not the gentle kind of a bird's, but stronger, heavier.

"I told you that cage wouldn't hold me for long!" shouted a familiar voice behind her, mocking and arrogant.

Miyuki froze mid-step. Her heart lurched, and she turned her head slowly, almost unwilling to confirm what her instincts already screamed.

And there she was. Kitsuna. Hovering effortlessly in the air, her golden wings catching the sunlight and scattering it in shards of brilliance.

"You didn't miss me one bit!" Miyuki yelled back. Her snow-white ears twitched nervously, alert to every movement as she dropped into a battle stance, knees bent, weight balanced perfectly.

Kitsuna spread her wings wide, golden feathers glinting in the sunlight. With a swift, almost playful flick, she sent a volley of razor-sharp feathers slicing through the air toward Miyuki.

Miyuki's eyes narrowed, her body moving almost on instinct. She twisted and ducked, her movements fluid and precise, dodging each lethal projectile.

She slipped her hand between her breasts, fingers closing around the hilts of three kunai. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, anticipation sharpening every muscle. With a single, fluid motion, she pulled her arm back, feeling the familiar weight and balance of the weapons.

Then, with perfect precision, Miyuki launched the kunai in a seamless arc toward Kitsuna.

Caught completely off guard, Kitsuna had no time to react. She could do nothing but raise her arm in a desperate shield. All three kunai struck true, sinking deep into her flesh with a sickening thunk. And from each wound, a thick, black mist began to seep out.

Kitsuna's eyes blazed with fury. She let out a low, menacing snarl.

She drew in a deep breath, wings flaring wider, muscles tensing visibly as she began to gather her energy. Sparks of golden light danced across her feathers, clashing with the dark haze leaking from her injuries.

Miyuki tensed her legs, feeling the familiar pressure in her muscles as she prepared to dodge another deadly volley of metallic feathers. Her ears twitched, and her eyes narrowed, scanning the sky for any sign of Kitsuna's next move.

But instead, Kitsuna gathered the dark energy, letting it coil around her. With a sudden, graceful dive, she plummeted toward the ground, wings folding tight against her back. Her fist struck the earth with a bone-shaking crack.

The impact unleashed a surge of black power, erupting outward in a spiraling wave.

Miyuki couldn't predict the attack. The spiraling wave of black energy hit her, the force smashing into her chest and sending her flying backward several meters. She skidded across the grass, dirt and broken stalks flying in all directions, before landing hard on one knee with a grunt.

"Ah!" she growled through gritted teeth, pain and frustration flaring across her face. Her ears flattened against her head as she struggled to regain her balance.

Above her, Kitsuna laughed — a sound sharp, cruel, and triumphant. She descended gracefully to the ground, landing lightly.

Golden feathers shimmered in the sunlight, framing her lithe form as she leaned forward to peer at Miyuki's face, eyes glittering with both amusement and menace.

Miyuki could no longer feel her legs. Perhaps she was still upright, but her body refused to obey — her muscles heavy, unresponsive, and trembling with exhaustion. Panic bubbled in her chest. She felt utterly trapped, a puppet with its strings cut.

"Haha! At last, you're mine!" Kitsuna's voice rang out. With swift, precise movement, she reached out and seized Miyuki by the chin, tilting her head back.

Miyuki's eyes widened, ears flattening back instinctively. She tried to push away, to resist, but her body refused.

"This looks like the end for me…" Miyuki thought, a cold shiver running down her spine. Her mind raced, bracing herself for death, every instinct screaming that escape was impossible.

But before Kitsuna could finish her cruel triumph, a sudden, violent impact struck her in the face. And blood instantly began dripping from her nose.

Kitsuna staggered back slightly, wings flaring in shock, a stunned hiss escaping her lips.

Miyuki's eyes widened in disbelief, a spark of hope flaring within her chest. The unexpected strike had broken the suffocating grip of helplessness.

She froze, panic clawing at her chest as she looked around wildly, searching for the source of the unexpected blow. But all she could see was someone's face.

Slowly, she tilted her head, bringing her fingers to her nose, and stared at the crimson stain that coated them.

"T-that's impossible! No one could be that strong!" she cried, her voice trembling and cracking with fear. Her knees wobbled, and she staggered back.

The air around her seemed to hum with tension, and even her wings twitched nervously. Every ounce of her arrogance had been stripped away in a single, unexpected strike.

And then it became painfully clear — the one who had struck her was none other than—

"And he is—" Nytherra's voice sliced through the heavy silence of the hall, each word deliberate, echoing ominously off the obsidian walls.

The massive double doors groaned. Then, stepping through the threshold, the air itself seemed to change. The presence that entered was impossible to ignore. Powerful and commanding.

It was the God of Humans.

It was an unknown hero.

IT WAS VEX
