Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure

Chapter 1681: Sacred Duel (4)

These were weapons and it wasn't as if they were special weapons.

These were weapons that I had certainly seen before.

The thing was that these weapons seemed to be made of a certain special material.

It was a kind of material that wasn't common when it came to making weapons, but this was what had been used.

Seeing this material, I had a guess as to what these weapons were and how they had been made.

In the end, they even confirmed it for me.

"These were made from the bones of our ancestors."

Based on the texture of the weapons, it had been easy to tell that these were weapons that were made of bones. It was just that I didn't think that they would actually take the bones of their ancestors to make these weapons.

In the human world, it would be considered barbaric to do something like this.

But thinking about it, perhaps it wasn't that strange for the demi humans.

They lived in more of a tribal society and they had different values from the humans.

To them, having their bones turned into a weapon that would be passed down through the tribe would be something that would be treated as an honour.

So these bone weapons were considered relics in the demi human tribes.

When something like this was turned into a relic, then it was passed down among the demi humans and received faith from them. That faith should have gathered in the relics and the ones that the bones for the relics came from.

That should be what had turned them into these local gods.

Now the only thing that I was wondering about was the power that these relics possessed.

Since they were relics from these local gods, that meant that they should be able to release some divine energy. Only I couldn't help being doubtful of the power that just some local gods could generate.

It shouldn't even be at the level of the Origin God who only had the giants believing in them.

"Can I see them in action?" I asked them in a voice that had a trace of excitement in it.

But in the end, they rejected me when I asked them for a demonstration.

"We're sorry, we can't do that here. These are the sacred relics of our tribes, so we can't just use them at will like this. They are to be used in the Sacred Duel to represent the honour of our tribes."

I was surprised to hear this, but it wasn't as if I couldn't understand where they were coming from.

In the first place, they had been sent here to represent their tribes in the Sacred Duel.

That was their main goal, no matter what happened.

For them, that was the one thing that they had to achieve, regardless of what they had to do.

That was why they wouldn't risk hurting themselves or damaging the relics of their tribe before the Sacred Duel happened. They just wouldn't be able to forgive themselves if something happened before the Sacred Duel.

But from the awkward looks on their faces like they were being put in a hard spot, I knew that they were sincere when they apologized. I knew that they were sincere when they felt bad that they couldn't show me this fight.

I wouldn't blame them for this since I knew that they had responsibilities that they were shouldering.

At the same time, it wasn't as if I was in so much of a rush that I couldn't wait.

I was here to watch the Sacred Duel anyway, so it wasn't as if it would hurt me to wait a bit longer.

With a wave of my hand, I said, "It's not a problem, I'll be sure to watch carefully in the Sacred Duel. I hope that all of you will do your best."

They looked relieved when they heard this and promised that they would do their best, but then there was a bit of tension that appeared.

It wasn't as if this tension was aimed at me, this tension was something that was between the different contestants from the different tribes.

The only reason that this tension hadn't existed before this was because they had been focused on showing their gratitude towards me. But once that was gone, they went back to being competitors that were all trying to do their best in the Sacred Duel.

So it was only natural that there was this tension between them.

With this tension between them, they didn't say anything else to each other before drifting off in their own groups.

There were one or two of them that went together showing that their tribes were close with one another, but most of them just headed off on their own.

That was just how it was, they were all competitors that were trying to get a better place in the Sacred Duel.

It was only natural that they would have this tension between them.

But it wasn't as if this kind of tension was off putting.

I actually enjoyed this kind of tension between competitors since it meant that they took things seriously. At the same time, it meant that they would do all that they could to make sure that it was a good and fair competition.

There really was nothing to complain about when things were like this.

After they spread out, I went off to have a taste of the food that they offered here.

Though I had my fair share of demi human cuisine, I had to admit that I hadn't had the time to have royal cuisine since I had spent most of my time traveling across the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.

While I was enjoying the food, I had to look at some of the members of the royal guards with one brow raised.

This time, it was my turn to look at them like this.

After all, there were some demi human girls that were getting close to them.
