Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure

Chapter 1679: Sacred Duel (2)

The people from the Holy Empire and my guards were surprised to see all of these demi humans.

Though they had seen demi humans before, they had never seen this many kind of demi humans before.

The demi human race was one that was filled with many different kinds of demi humans since there were many different animals out there. That was why there were many different mixes between humans and animals possible.

It was also why there were so many tribes of demi humans all over the place.

We could have stayed out there longer, but we had been called back to the capital.

It wasn't just because of the Sacred Duel, they knew that it was taking us a lot of energy to heal all of these demi humans and purify all of these places. It was an excuse to call us back to rest up before heading out again.

I wasn't surprised like the rest of my group since I had already seen these demi humans before.

It wasn't that I had met them in person, I had seen them through the screen when this world was still a game.

Though seeing them in reality definitely was different than seeing them in a game.

After looking at the different demi humans, I started heading to the castle.

But before I could reach the castle, I found that we were suddenly surrounded by a bunch of demi humans.

It wasn't that they were surrounding us to attack us, rather it was because…

"It's a real wyvern!"

"I've never seen one before!"

"I want to ride on it!"

The only ones that could say things like this were kids that didn't know anything about the world. At the same time, the demi humans were much more courageous compared to other races.

That was why these kids didn't have any hesitation as they ran forward to surround Joan.

Joan seemed to be at a bit of loss when she saw them, but I just patted her on the head and said, "Go ahead, they're not hurting anyone."

Once she received the go ahead, Joan didn't waste any time playing with the kids.

She was actually quite good at taking care of kids, it was just that she normally acted differently because she was the Wyvern Queen. But now that I had given the order, she could just do what she wanted to do.

I could see that she was good at this because of her maternal instincts.

Even if Joan didn't have any children, that didn't mean that she didn't want children.

It was just that there was no wyvern that was strong enough that could become her mate.

There was a part of me that wondered if I should find a male wyvern that would suit her.

While Joan was playing with the children, she brought them onto her back so they soon surrounded me as well.

As children should be, they were filled with curiosity. So when they saw a human like me, they were naturally curious about me as well.

"Why doesn't he have any fur?"

"Where are his ears?"

"Why doesn't he have a tail?"

They circled around me, looking for the things that they considered normal, but they just couldn't find them at all. After all, I was a human and not a demi human like this, so I just simply didn't have these things.

While they were doing this, they actually came quite close to me and I couldn't help myself in the end.

When there were a few of these kids that were on my lap, I couldn't help reaching out and rubbing them on the head.

After I rubbed them for a bit, I could hear satisfied sounds that came from them.

Then when I stopped, they turned back to look at me before asking, "Why did you stop?"

Since they were asking, there was no reason for me to stop doing it.

Their fur was indeed quite soft.

Though when it came to the girls, I did draw a line since I didn't want to do something that I would regret.

At the same time, I could see the way that those from the Holy Empire and my royal guards were looking at me. Since they were watching me, of course I wouldn't do anything that was considered excessive.

Once I had finished entertaining the kids, I had Joan send them back to the ground and they quickly ran off.

That was just how kids were.

They were interested in something one moment and then they lost interest the next.

Though in this case, it was more that their parents called for them that they went back. As they left, some of them even looked back as if they wanted to play with Joan some more.

At least it seemed like the parents didn't have any hostility towards us.

The work that we had done during this time had been enough to establish our reputation.

Or at least the wyverns had become a symbol of those that came to help.

So once they saw that we were riding on wyverns, they knew that we weren't bad people.

When we arrived at the castle, I found that King Kashou was there waiting for us.

Someone like him really shouldn't be waiting at the castle gates for someone, but there he was waiting for us.

When I tried to say something, he just said, "If I don't come to wait for you, who would I wait for? The relationship between us isn't that simple."

I just shook my head with a faint smile before letting him lead me into the castle.

While we were heading in, I asked, "How is the Sacred Duel's preparations going?"

A wide smile appeared on his face showing that it was going well before he started telling me all about what had happened during this time.

From what he said, it was clear that it was beyond just going well.

It seemed like everyone had responded to the call for the Sacred Duel.
