The two players looked mature enough, and the crowd was also largely composed of adults, so Mira stood out a lot amongst them. And as people took notice of her, whispers of her presence spread through the audience.

Eventually, some of those voices reached the ear of the handsome man playing as well, but caused a slightly different reaction.

The fight became fiercer with the presence of two Legend rarity cards on the battlefield. Whoever made the smallest mistake would end up losing. But the special effects of Danbulf the Army tipped things in favor of the beautiful woman.

That was when the handsome man heard something from the audience. 「There’s a cute girl like an angel in his fan group.」

Currently his draw had not been ideal, and he knew he was in a bad spot. So he decided to quickly look at his fans to reinvigorate himself.

「An angel…」

He soon realized it had been no exaggeration, and there really was an almost unnaturally cute girl amongst his fans, making a fresh breeze pass through his heart. That instantly brought his spirits up. He could not allow himself to give up when there was such a cute girl smiling at him.

(I’ve been through worse. I can’t let her down by giving up here!)

He somehow managed to endure through the woman’s turn, and then it was time for him to fight back. The smile of that angel had been burned into his mind, so he gave everything he had.

Mira’s heartbeat was racing as she watched the preliminary fight of the Legend of Astelia tournament.

Things had tipped in favor of the beautiful woman when she brought forth the Danbulf the Army card. But then the handsome man drew one card that completely negated that advantage.

(Damn him and his little tricks..!)

Obviously enough, Mira had been cheering on the beautiful woman who had used the Danbulf card. But her opponent would not relent, scraping together everything he had to stand his ground, managing to stabilize even at the last moment.

Meanwhile, the women surrounding Mira would start to cheer louder each time the handsome man did a move. Mira slowly noticed that correlation, and then finally noticed that she was right in the middle of the handsome male’s fans.

She had ended up there because she wanted to be surrounded by women, but that put her on the opposite side of where her allegiance stood, and she shuddered to think of what would happen if they knew she was cheering on the beautiful woman instead.

Watching their fervent cheering, Mira carefully retreated trying to not be noticed.

(Hmm…I see, it’s so easy to tell.)

As she moved, she observed the crowd, noticing how they were organized. In short, there were three different groups, the two fan groups for each player, and regular people who just wanted to watch the tournament match.

From what she could tell, the split between male and female watchers amongst the regular group was even, and they also came from all walks of life, some being adventurers, other normal people, and some looking more wealthy. They also were distributed equally through the playing area.

Then the handsome man’s fans were all women wearing cheering accessories, and they could easily be told apart when seen as a group.

The beautiful woman’s fans were also unique in their own way, being a group of energetic men wearing capes like fans of an idol group, so they could also be identified easily.

Knowing those differences, she moved over to the neutral group, and then used her small frame to slip forward again, and she felt like it was much easier this time. In reality, the people around her had noticed her, and gently stepped back to let her through. But Mira remained oblivious to that.

With her head poking out from the front line, she once again looked around the audience and noticed there was one more group, composed of just five people. They looked similar to the neutral group, but they watched more avidly than the rest and had a certain ominous air to them.

For a moment, Mira wondered who they were, fearing that they were some type of stalkers of the beautiful woman. But as she listened to them she realized that was not the case at all.

「That was a good move.」

「But not good enough.」

「Their days are numbered if this is all they can do.」

「I heard they were really popular, but I was expecting more.」

「It doesn’t matter who wins, they won’t get far into the tournament.」

「The only surprise was that she has the card of one of the Nine Wisemen.」

「Yeah, that one’s pretty rare and it’s tricky to deal with.」

「I mean, no one really knows what summoners do anyway.」

「Yeah, sometimes I forget they even exist.」

After that they all laughed loudly.

They were other competitors in the tournament, and were there to scout their possible future opponents. Mira understood that much from their conversation, but then glared at them intently. She could not forgive them for making fun of summoners like that.

「Hey, why is she glaring at us like that?」

「Hm? Are you sure she’s not just staring?」

「Do you think she recognized us then?」

「Maybe. There’s a lot of rumors going around about us competitors after all.」

They noticed Mira looking at them, and prepared to escape before anyone else recognized them. But they had the wrong idea. Mira was actually glaring at them with all the hatred she could muster, but due to her small frame and adorable appearance, it did not seem that way in the least.

At least until Mira’s eyes changed colors.

「Ah hwh? Mh dng…」

One of them mumbled something incomprehensible. Another turned to him, asking, 「Hey, what’s wrong?」 Only for a second one to do the same, merely getting out 「Mh…mh dhh.」

Those two were the same ones that had joked about summoners before, saying no one knew what they did, and that sometimes they forgot they even existed.

While the small group became flustered wondering what happened, Mira looked away, her eyes regaining their original clear blue color.

(It’s only thanks to this being real that I can control it so finely too.)

She had used Evil Paralysing Gaze to numb their tongues. After a lot of practice, she had learned how to use it on very specific body parts, and she had pulled it off successfully here as well.

The effect would only last for around a minute, but it hardly used any mana, and if used correctly, it would allow her to stop her opponents from chanting.

On top of that, it had allowed her to punish those two men who had made fun of summoners. When their tongues recovered, they continued to wonder what had caused that, so they stopped mocking the players, allowing Mira and the audience around them to focus on the match again.
