She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 723: Garden Party

Grace slowly fluttered her eyes open. Kenneth had brought her to the room after getting treated and teleported by Ariel. And she had fallen asleep right after.

She looked around to find herself in one of the guest rooms of the castle.

A maid came to her and asked after giving a bow, "How are you feeling now Milady?"

Grace tried to wake up, however, she instantly rested her head back on the pillow because she felt as though the room was rotating.

"I feel a little dizzy," she replied to the maid. And then she asked, "Where is my cousin? And… everyone else? How long was I asleep for?"

The maid replied in a polite voice, "You were asleep for five hours, Milady. The Crown Prince and the other Princes and Princesses are currently attending the garden party."

"Garden party…" Grace repeated after the maid and sighed.

As Grace didn't have any more questions, the maid went to the table and grabbed a jar of fresh pomegranate juice. She poured it into a cup and then brought it to the lady.

She offered the glass to Grace.

However, she reacted by sharply breathing in and looking at that red juice as if it was some poison.

After seeing Grace's reaction, the maid quickly explained what it was. "Milady, this is pomegranate juice. Princess Ariel said that this will help you."

Grace let out the breath that she was holding in and then asked the maid for help, "Will you first help me to sit up?"

The maid helped her out and then offered the juice again.

Grace closed her eyes and then gulped down the whole glass.

"May I do anything else for you, Milady?" the maid asked Grace.

Grace had come here to the castle to spend some fun time with her cousin and the others. But now that she was feeling under the weather, her whole plan went to ruins.

She didn't want to be stuck alone. So she asked, "When will the garden party end?"

The maid also understood why Grace was asking that question. So she replied accordingly, "The garden party will end shortly. However, a barbeque will be held for all the Royals. So, the Crown Prince won't be able to visit you until late at night."

Grace pursed her lips in disappointment. She was the one to suggest the barbeque, but now, she wished that she never had.

Grace then glanced at the maid and ordered her, "You may take leave then. I will sleep for some more." Experience exclusive tales on empire

The maid politely bowed and said, "As you wish, Milady. I will be right outside. So if you need anything, please call me."

The maid left the room after getting a nod from the lady.

And Grace immediately regretted sending that maid away since the memory of getting bitten by Damien started to haunt her.

She tight shut her eyes and tried her best not to dwell on that memory. However, the more she tried not to think about that terrifying and life-threatening experience that she had in the morning, the more she was haunted by it.

Her heart raced beyond measure. And she felt like she would faint all over again.

"I should have left when he threatened me that he would gobble me up. I shouldn't have taken his words lightly."

She pressed her palms over her chest and deeply breathed in and out.

"Please, Grace, stop thinking about it. You were the one who didn't listen to his warning. You brought it upon yourself. So just let it go now."

However, how could she stop thinking about it when it was the most petrifying experience that she ever had in her life?

"He almost killed me! If it wasn't for Ken then…"

Grace felt her stomach churning. She couldn't even bring herself to think what would have happened to her if Kenneth hadn't saved her.

She suddenly recalled a blurry image of someone else who had found her lying on the forest ground.

"Wait! Who was that?" Grace's eyes dilated as she tried to recall who had found her and bandaged her.

She recalled the blurry image of a curly-haired man. And her eyes widened in realization, "Prince Ramon…"

Grace also recalled how worried he had sounded when he had seen the marks of fangs on her wrist. And as she thought about Ramon, her scared heart eventually calmed down.

---

Outside in the garden party, everyone was busy greeting each other, having small talks, sipping tea, and eating cakes.

Regarding Grace's absence from the party, Kenneth had made an excuse that she got an upset stomach after seeing all the blood and dead animals during the hunt.

Damien, as well as everyone from Wyverndale, were grateful for that because they didn't want the King of Brenalia to think that Damien was indeed trying to harm the members of the Royal family.

And since Damien's image wasn't tainted, the dignitaries who were present at the party were eager to see the demon for themselves.

Some of them dared to greet Damien in person. But the others were gossiping among themselves and were 'discreetly' walking past him.

"I heard that the Princes and Princesses from Wyverndale brought one of their friends from Hell along with them," one of the dignitaries stated to a small circle of people that he was in.

"Really? So Hell really exists, huh?" another man with a mustache nervously asked.

And a lady standing next to him gave a side glare to that man and scoffed, "Of course it does! Don't ask stupid questions."

"So, the rumor about the consort of Wyverndale being a Devil Prince is also true then… Else how the Royal children would know a demon from Hell, am I right?"

"Where is he, by the way? Does he look scary?"

Everyone in the group curiously darted their eyes around in the garden as if to catch a sight of an unsightly creature.

But a tall gentleman who was listening to the gossip walked into that group and tried to give his insights, "I heard from the King's advisor that he looks nothing like the folklores tell us."

And yet another lady joined in and excitedly told everyone, "Yes, I saw him earlier. In fact, he is so handsome that he would put all the men to shame."
