Shadow Slave: The Holy Emperor

Chapter 12: Where the hell are you Sunny?!

From that day on, Nephis and I spared on occasion testing how and why our abilities affected each other but. 'She's pulling a damn Caster on me' I thought somewhat annoyed. (I completely forgot about Caster while making the previous chapters)

Before I jumped back to avoid her slash a circle of pure golden light formed around my ankle, explosively increasing my jump force. I then shot backward and landed like a cat ready to pounce. The circle of light glowed more than before as I appeared before her my sword attempting to cleave her through. Nephis's sword redirected my blow then adding on her own force sent me falling onto my butt.

"You seem to have made a habit of overextending your sword," Nephis said casually before desummoning her sword and helping Keter up. "You need to fix that we only have three days before the winter solstice.

"I got it" Keter groans as he stands up 'It seems she still doesn't trust me seeing as her style is far more rigid than the flow and adaptable style she was said to have in the novel.'

Keter walks over to the bench with their stuff on it and then throws Nephis her water bottle and then drinks from his own. "God water feels so nice after getting my ass kicked." Keter could vaguely hear Nephis chuckles behind him. "We should rest with the rest of the time we have left, going into the dream realm tired is a death sentence."

Keter could see Nephis look at him weirdly and asks. "Is a three-day break really needed?"

"Well I would like to enjoy myself a little before I'm dropped into hell," Keter says with a matter-of-fact voice. Nephis just nodded satisfied with the answer.

"Good luck then," Nephis's said leaving the training room to probably go to another one if Keter had to guess.

Keter sighs walking to his room after taking a long hot shower. As Keter was walking the halls of the campus his mood only seemed to lower as his tongue clicked. 'It seems that treacherous bastard won't be showing up.' Keter had searched the entire school and yet even with only three days left Sunny was nowhere to be seen. 'God the Forgotten Shore will be much harder without him. How the hell are we even going to get the Crown of Dawn without him?' Keter wonders cursing at himself for not realizing it earlier.

Keter remembered his first nightmare well, almost too well. 'The Shadow God's message.'

[The Shadow God morns his kin but welcomes one anew]

'He was morning Sunny but the new one.' Keter ponders troubled. 'Rain if I had to guess but the only real way a message like this could happen was if she was infected by the Nightmare Spell.'

As Keter was contemplating he saw Morgan leaning against his door. "What are you doing here?" Keter said as he walked up to her.

"What can't visit a friend?" Morgan said sarcastically.

"I mean you can but you don't most of the time, your pretty busy most of the time," Keter said.

"You're not wrong but you are right, I am here to give you something." Morgan proceeds to smack Keter on the back of the head.

[You have received a Memory]

"Asshole" Keter says glaring as Morgan the looking to the Spell.

[Trusty Longsword]

Memory Rank: Ascended

Memory Tier: I

Memory Type: Weapon

Memory Description: A truly trusty longsword used by countless different people but still and forever will hold itself strong.

Keter's eyes widen as he sees the Memory rank. "Ascended?" Keter loudly says then looks over to Morgan shell shocked.

"Damn right, It's so you don't end up killing yourself" Morgan smiles at him.

"Thank you Morgan" Keter says appreciation filling his voice. Morgan looks at him shocked not expecting him to say anything then quickly saying.

"Of course" Keter caught the hint of a blush on her face before she quickly snuffed it out. "anyway." Morgan say trying to change the topic. "by the time you come back from the dream realm I should have conquered my second nightmare." Morgan states with a dull confidence.

"Well I wish you luck then Morgan," Keter says then suddenly hugs Morgan. "Goodbye hug."

Morgan stood there still for a second before she hugged him back and said. "Good luck to you as well."

Midterms screwed with my original plan for updating but at least the next chapter is finally the forgotten Shore. I finally get to nerd out about the Aspect I made.

anyway if you want more chapters than think about commenting more, looking at comments talking about what happens in the chapters and just comments in general help me want to continue writing.
