Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Striking from the Shadows
The night was young, and New York City thrived in its usual blend of chaos and beauty. The vibrant lights of Times Square clashed with the dim, ominous glow of Hell's Kitchen. For most, the city was a place of endless opportunity; for Alexander Reid, it had become his hunting ground. The darkness was no longer something to fear. It was his domain. The shadows had embraced him, and he, in turn, had learned to wield them like a weapon.
Tonight would be his first strike against Wilson Fisk's supply chain.
The system's task rang clear in his mind:
[Task: Disrupt Fisk's Operations. Target Key Supply Chains.] [Reward: 600 Experience Points]
Alexander had spent the past few days studying the documents he recovered from Dock Office 17. He had traced the delivery patterns, noted the names of drivers, and found a weak link—a late-night shipment passing through a lesser-guarded warehouse on the outskirts of Hell's Kitchen. It was a vital point in Fisk's operation, yet overlooked due to its seemingly low importance. This was his opportunity.
Dressed in dark tactical clothing, Alexander moved with the grace of a predator. His enhanced agility allowed him to navigate the rooftops with fluid ease. Each leap between buildings, each roll upon landing, felt more natural. His strength empowered every movement, while his endurance allowed him to press forward without pause. He was becoming more than human—his body adapting to his newfound power with each passing day.
He arrived at his destination—Warehouse 9.
The building was old, rusted, and worn down by time. Its exterior was a relic of an industrial past, but inside it served as a hub for illicit dealings. The men guarding it were sharp. Four enforcers, each armed and alert, patrolled the perimeter. These weren't mere street thugs; they were part of Fisk's network. Dangerous. Experienced. Men who had seen blood spill and had spilled it themselves.
Alexander observed from above, analyzing their patterns. He memorized their steps, noting the moments when they were most vulnerable. His heart raced not with fear, but with excitement. This was his test—to see if his growing power could truly make a difference.
He descended silently, landing behind a stack of crates. He crouched low, his breath steady, his ears tuned to every sound. He waited for his moment.
The first guard passed by, his boots scraping lightly against the concrete, oblivious to the predator lurking in the shadows.
Alexander struck like a shadow, wrapping his arm around the man's neck, cutting off his airway. The guard flailed, his hands desperately clawing at Alexander's arm. But the strength in Alexander's grip was unyielding. The guard's struggles slowed, then ceased. His body went limp.

One down.
Alexander dragged the body behind a set of barrels and concealed it beneath a tarp. He moved to the next target.
The second guard leaned against a wall, smoking a cigarette. The faint glow illuminated his face, but he saw nothing beyond the smoke in front of him. He was bored, unaware that death lurked mere feet away.
Alexander closed the distance quickly, his steps silent. He delivered a precise blow to the back of the man's head. The guard collapsed instantly, his cigarette falling from his lips.

Two down.
The remaining two guards stood near the loading dock, chatting quietly. Their rifles were slung casually over their shoulders. Alexander knew he couldn't take them quietly together. He needed to create a distraction.
He picked up a small metal bolt from the ground and tossed it toward a stack of barrels. The clattering sound echoed in the still night air.
"What was that?" one muttered, his hand moving instinctively toward his weapon.
"Go check it out," the other said, scanning the darkness.
Perfect.
The first guard approached the barrels, flashlight in hand. He swung the beam across the area but saw nothing.
Alexander emerged from the shadows like a wraith. He grabbed the guard by the collar and slammed him into the barrels. The man's head hit metal, and he slumped to the ground, unconscious.

The final guard turned, but it was too late. Alexander was already upon him. He launched a powerful punch to the man's jaw, the crack echoing faintly. The guard stumbled back, but Alexander followed up with a knee to his ribs, knocking the air from his lungs. A final strike to the temple sent him to the ground.

With the perimeter secured, Alexander entered the warehouse. Inside, crates stacked to the ceiling bore the markings of Fisk's empire. Drugs. Weapons. Tools of corruption. Each crate represented lives destroyed, families shattered. Alexander felt a surge of anger. This was the rot that infected the city.
He placed a small incendiary device he had prepared earlier among the crates. Nothing large enough to cause a massive explosion—just enough to destroy the supplies and send a message.
He stepped back into the shadows, lit the fuse, and vanished into the night.
Minutes later, a muffled explosion rocked the warehouse. Flames licked at the sky as smoke billowed upward. Sirens began to wail in the distance.
Alexander watched from a nearby rooftop, satisfaction burning in his chest. This was just the beginning. He had struck his first blow against Fisk. And the city would soon learn that the shadows had a new master.
[Task Progress: 1/3 Supply Chains Disrupted.]
He turned away, blending into the night. There was more work to be done. His war had just begun.
