Chapter 37: Obsidian Order 2

The black film stretched from the center to covering the entire city. "Spacial barrier" Adam muttered in a grim tone. He understood it was a spacial barrier because of the spacial energy coming off it. People all around the city began to panic, throwing caution to the wind, running around in hope of finding a sanctuary.

"Citizens of El dorado My name is Charles Geralt and I am from the organization called 'Obsidian Order' " began a regal voice. "We're here to purify your souls, and also inviting you to our organization " the voice continued. "You're welcome to refuse to join us of course, but know that joining the obsidian order will excempt you from an agonizing death" it finished.

The contents of what the voice said seemed to invite even more panic among everyone currently present in the city. 'Obsidian order' Adam thought. 'The most notorious criminal organization in the human federation, their devotion to the Asuras bordering on fanaticism, and their mission and main goal to convert other humans to their side'.

Adam obviously knows about the obsidian order as while the Asuras are considered external threats, the obsidian order are like a tumor in the human federation. They believe that humans are meant to worship the Asuras, and it doesn't help that no one knows who their leader is.

"Damn just a few f*cking hours more and I'll be out of this city and back into the confines of my dorm room" Adam cursed. "Of all the days of the month, they had to choose today to initiate their attack, at least you could have fucking let me out of this city before you start your attack"

At the center of the city stood a man with black hair and eyes dressed in a regal attire, at his chest area was the symbol of an obelisk in a circle. Behind him stood at least three hundred subordinates also in the same attire, only slightly less regal.

"You've got some nerve declaring that in my city" another voice boomed, following it's appearance was a brown bearded man in a blue armor. "Oh the captain of the city guards and his subordinates" said Charles referring to the former and a group of people similarly dressed in the same armor gathering behind him. "You won't be able to stop us after all you'll be dead in the next few minutes" continued Charles. "Well you're welcome to try" replied the Captain.

"When will you headstrong humans see the light, the Asuras are gods offering us salvation but you all can't seem to understand, what a pity" Charles said shaking his head. "Evacuate all citizens to the shelter" said the captain to his subordinates behind him.

"I can see you're trying to stall but I assure you it's useless, we specifically timed when the city lord wasn't around for our attack so no one's coming to your rescue. The captain didn't answer him but instead said go evacuate everyone I'll hold them off.

"Follow and eliminate them and the rest massacre the entire city" Charles said the moment the city guards started leaving. The black robes men behind him went after the city guards leaving only the captain and Charles behind. "We're both in peak platinum rank, there's no way your getting out of this alive" the captain sneered at Charles. "Oh Captain, Captain, Captain, there's so much you don't understand" Charles snickered. And soon they began to square off.

**Adam Walker's POV**

I watched as all the people around me scrambled around looking for a safe sanctuary, that's humans for you, even though they haven't seen the threat, chaos had already been sown. I didn't scramble around or lose my shit like other people, honestly I don't even know if I'll be able to lose my shit. Even right now I'm suprisingly unnaturally calm and collected.

Letting that out of my head, the park became deserted leaving only me, 'at least there is some quiet' i thought. But I seemed to have raised a red flag and jinxed it because the next moment I felt a presence approaching the park, it appeared before me it was a man in black robes with a symbol of an obelisk in a circle on his chest. His presence was revolting to say the least.

"Heh hey, didn't think I'll find a prey this soon" he cackled. He was merely in peak silver, I wonder why they'll even bring someone as weak as him for an attack. Make no mistake, he was only weak by genius standards as am pretty sure any cadet that has made it to early can effortlessly dispatch him.

"You see in life we make some bad choices, some even become the reason we lose our life, if you had just ignored me and went on your own then perhaps you might have lived to see another day" I said in a sagely tone.

"I'll show you what a bad choice kid" he said before he began to channel his bloodline energy. "Save it I only have one word for you, 'die'" I said.

I crushed him to a splat using my crushing, it took no more than a second. "Oh shit" I muttered, you must be wondering why I'm cursing right after my small 'victory', well if you can call it that, it was because of the guy that just landed on front of me, he wasn't hiding his aura at all, he was at mid gold rank just like the asura I fought on the day we were attacked.

The thing was that I wasn't sure I could escape not to talk of beating him, I managed to defeat that asura two weeks ago because he got injured from my second bloodline sending a red wave out. "Surprising, you instantly took him out, you geniuses are the type I love to take out the most" he said with a malevolent smile.

One moment I was sitting on a bench with him at my front and the other I was flying backwards at breakneck speed. The bastard sent a flying kick to my chest, at least I managed to cross my arms before he got me.
