Shackles Of Reality

**Adam Walker's POV**

But another familiar thing was her clothes, "shit", I muttered under my breath, I knew who she was. "Hey" I said tapping Owen. "What?" he asked. "Doesn't that girl look familiar?" I said gesturing to the girl. "What familiar?, I have never seen her in my life and even if I've seen her, how do you except me to remember someone as plain as her?" he rambled.

"Idiot, look at her clothes" I said. "Hmmm?, what's with her clothes?" he asked. "It's the exact clothes Aurora was wearing" I said.

"Now that you pointed it out, it seems to be the case, but even a blind man will know the difference Aurora and this girl, unless...". he said, his eyes widening.

"Disguise" I said. "I was gonna go with coincidence but that works too" he said.

"Sometimes I do wonder whether you're stupid or simply faking it" I said because I've been observing him and though he might act stupid, he's actually pretty sharp.

"Who knows" he said goofy smile that started to make me think I was wrong.

"Oi oi, she's getting away" he said breaking me out of my thoughts. I saw the girl who I presumed to be Aurora about to vanish into the crowd. "Let's follow her" I said. "Wait you're a stalker now? he asked in amusement. "No I simply want to know what she's up to" I replied.

We followed her everywhere she went until we lost her when she took a turn around turkey looking beast's habitat. "So what now Mr. detective?" he asked sarcastically. "Since we've lost her, let's just leave" I shrugged. "Yeah there's just one problem though, I don't remember the way back" he said. And he was right, it was a problem because neither do I. "Don't worry, we can just trace back our steps" I said confidently.

We did manage to get back to the zoo's entrance, but it took us a lot of guessing and some trial and error. And it also took us almost an hour.

"Whew, finally made it" Owen sighed after we spotted the gate. "You know we could have made it since earlier, if not because you didn't want to look foolish asking for directions. "What do you know?, the fist thing people do if you ask for directions is look at you as if you're dumb" he said with emphasis on the dumb.

'My body tensed for a moment as I felt a gaze locked on me, I turned to where I felt it only to see nothing.

"Owen seemed to notice my behavior and asked " what's wrong". "Nothing, it just felt like something was watching me, didn't you feel it" I replied. "Nope, I didn't feel nothing" he replied. "Well, maybe it was just my imagination" I thought while Owen continued his ramblings.

I ignored him as I took a look at the sky, it was just 2pm so the sun was shining bright than ever.

Meanwhile...

'They almost caught me' thought Aurora. 'I should have thought about the clothes' she sighed. 'Next time I just have to make sure to be through'. She narrowed her eyes for a moment before relaxing. "Something is wrong with this city" she muttered. The city might have looked all sunshine and rainbows on the surface, but her intuition is telling her there's something wrong. 'Well whatever it is it will reveal itself in due time' she thought.

Another location...

Somewhere on the other side of the city, Two beautiful girls were in a mall, one had golden hair and eyes and the other had green hair and emerald eyes. They drew attention wherever they went.

"So who do you think is the strongest first year after Aurora?" asked the golden haired girl. "Why me of course" answered the other girl with a spirited smile. "Sigh I'm serious lily" said the golden haired girl. "What?, do you think you're stronger than me Ashley? asked Lily in a cold tone making the atmosphere tense.

"What I think doesn't matter, the entrance exam was a fluke anyway, The ranks do not determine who is stronger and who is weaker." said Ashley. "So you mean there's a chance someone in the two hundreds might be stronger than me? Lily asked tilting her head with a smile not quite reaching her eyes. "That's an absurd way to put it but yeah, something similar" Ashley said nt bothered at all by Lily's attitude.

Before she continued "let's leave that aside, we'll get to know who's stronger during the mid term exams, what do you think about this dress" she said raising a gold cheongsam. "For it's cheap price and quality it's not bad" lily replied. In a few seconds the tense atmosphere was gone.

Meanwhile with Adam.....

Currently Owen and I Were just wondering around with nowhere to go, and Owen was bothering me with his endless speech that I had to tune him out, only nodding at intervals to show that I was listening.

"Okay that's enough, don't you ever shut up?" I asked. "Never, it's my unique quirk" he answered with pride. "Yeah, now I know you definitely have a few loose screws".

As we continued talking, I sighted a certain extravagant shop making my head churn with ideas. So throughout the past week, I may or may not have tried turning stuffs into gold, diamond and a few other valuable minerals. The end result was astonishing.

"Hey, stop talking and help me find a few stones", I said to Owen. "hmmm?, what do you want with stones", he asked. "You'll see just get me a few, I'll become ri... I mean I'll make us rich" I said. "I'm already beyond rich though" he shrugged. 'Bastard, I forgot that money has no value to him at all'. "Even better, now are you going to help me find some or not?" I asked. "Fine" he grumbled.

Soon we found some stones, "didn't you say you were pressed earlier?" I asked. "Yeah but ..... "Well that's a bathroom there, hurry before someone else enters" I said gesturing to a building that read 'bathroom'.

"You're acting weird, you're hiding something" he said not convinced. "You know what you'll be hiding if you don't go?, the great Owen Hargreaves soiled himself, now that'll be something worth hiding" I said as his face twitched before he went towards the bathroom.
