Shackles Of Reality

**Adam Walker's POV**

Owen swung a punch at me from the right, only to stop as his other hand came at me.

'feint' I thought, his other hand hit me in the gut sending me backwards but not before I threw a solid kick to his chest.

We both stood apart panting, before Owen said "I think we should stop here" he said.

"I suppose". I said as I was also tired, we've been going at it for over half an hour.

"Man you're a monster, so you have it too huh? he said.

"Battle instinct?", I asked.

"Yeah", he replied.

"The only other person I know that has it is Aurora, and now that I know you have it, we can spar all day" he said with a wide grin.

"I didn't take you for the battle maniac kind of guy, you look more like the lazy type" I said.

"What do you mean lazy type, I'm obviously the hardworking and handsome type", he said with a pout.

"Do you spar with Aurora", I asked.

"No after the first time we sparred, she didn't agree for a spar again, maybe it wounded her pride that she lost to me", he said with a pondering expression.

"Wait did you really defeat her", I asked in shock, and my shock was justified as even instructor Blake said he couldn't defeat her at the same rank.

"Hahahahahaha, you should have seen your face, I was lying, she defeated me in under a minute", he said with a wry laugh.

Wait, why were you so shocked when I said I defeated her, it's not like you know her right", he asked.

"No I don't, I've only talked to her once and the reason why I was shocked was because I've heard about her from instructor Blake", I said but it seemed like he only heard the first part of what I said.

"WHAT?,you've talked to her?, he asked.

" Yeah", I replied.

"Where?".

"In the elevator", I shrugged and he began to look at me with a judging gaze.

"You never use the elevator ever since you started flying around, and she can literally teleport, so it's more than a coincidence that you two decided to use the elevator that certain day", he stated.

"Dude, I think it's just a coincidence", I said.

"No bro, it's DESTINY", he declared like a fanatic with the evening sun illuminating him.

"So what did you guys talk about", he questioned with gleaming eyes.

"Nothing, she just told me not to get complacent because I defeated a gold rank", I said.

"Awwww, so she even knows of your feats", he said in a shy voice that was starting to get on my nerves.

"Say how are things going on between you and your girlfriend?", I asked with a straight face and I could see his face visibly morph.

" I told you Ashley is not, not my girlfriend, not in a thousand years", he exclaimed.

"And when did I say Ashley?, so when I said girlfriend you instantly thought of Ashley huh, talk about true love", I said.

He struggled to find what to say for some moments before saying " You set me up, I'm leaving, see you tomorrow". And with that he ran off towards the academy.

'hehe, that would teach you not to mess with me' I thought.

The next day I woke up as usual, went for my session with instructor Blake.

After coming back, I freshened up and headed for the academic building.

Walking into the the class, I saw Owen already there and the class almost full.

The day was boring to say the least, we had the shuttle piloting class first but it was theory, make no mistake it was nice learning new things but boring nonetheless.

After that was the combat class, I thought it was going to be the same as usual, but instructor Blake suddenly decided to increase the conditioning by fifty each.

Then came lunch, my favorite part of the day, I ate some seafood while it wasn't as delicious as the one I made, it was still good.

Last was the bloodline analysis class where I got some pointers on using my gravity to make an invisible shield around me.

And now that I think about it, it was the very first ability my bloodline showed when it protected me from the explosion.

After the class Owen and I were about to leave for the dorms when an alert came from our watches, the message read

" Greetings 'Adventure club' members, this message is a reminder that we're having an adventure tomorrow, please make sure you're portal location before 9am.

Now this is for new members, the coordinates are at the end of the message, you simply have to scan it to the portal. And also no need to put your uniform.

Coordinates: ****!!?@#$****".

"Did you get the same message as me?" I asked Owen.

"You mean the one from the adventure club, if yes then I did get it". he said.

He left for the portal station while I flew, taking in the beautiful scenery of the distance.

The next day, I reached the combat grounds by about five minutes to five. It was still dark when I got there but dawn was closely approaching.

"Bring out your weapon" instructor Blake declared.

I took out my katana and started to train, after that we had a little spar in which I got my ass handed to me.

After I went back to my room, I had a bath and relaxed, at around 8:30am I wore a set of black and white hoodie and sweatpants, just as I wanted to go out, Owen came and started ringing my doorbell.

"I knew you were still inside, and it looks like you're also ready, so let's go" he said.

"Sigh why are you this energetic" I grumbled.

"Aren't you excited" he asked.

"I am but that doesn't mean I should be acting like you", I said.

"Hey what do you mean, am acting normal" he said.

"Fine, let's go", I said.

We reached the portal station and scanned the coordinates, we were not paying for the teleportation as all club activities are sponsored by the academy.

After we entered the portal, we appeared in another portal station, only this one was much bigger, and there were about a hundred students in there.

Many I've never even seen but there are some strong auras here as were reading gold rank and some I can't sense. I guess there are second and third years huh.

I even saw Aurora and Emo dude along with the other scions namely Quinn, Ashley, Victor, and Lily. Even the snow twins Aurelia and Gabriel.

Owen went over and talked with them for a while before coming back. At exactly 9am, a charismatic guy came from the portal.

"Aloha, cadets I'm the president of the adventure club and today our destination is the city of El Dorado.
