Shackles Of Reality

**Adam Walker's POV**

It was Saturday morning, meaning no classes today, except for the early morning training with instructor Blake, which I just came back from.

Tofay was a free day so I freshened up and hcrashed on my bed to get some extra rest.

Though it was more of wanting to sleep rather than a need for it, bloodline holders don't sleep as much as the normies, even an iron rank could go days without sleeping.

And now I could go at least two weeks without sleeping supposing I was not overexerting myself.

Not even a minute after I slumped into my king sized bed, which was very comfy by the way, my smartwatch started ringing and I knew who it was because I only gave one person my code.

"What?" i asked the moment I answered the the call, and I swear my tone almost sounded annoyed, this is progress I tell you.

"O hey dude" Owen said.

"Why did you call me" I asked.

" Why can't I call you?, We are best friends and I just wanted to ask if you wanna hang out".

" Okay one, we aren't best friends and two, no am busy.

" Come on dude, you gotta go around more, make some friends and connections.

I mean the only perople you've actually spoken to apart from me are the instructors" He said.

"Sometimes I doubt you're from one of the seven great families, I mean aren't you supposed to be arrogant or something?" I asked.

"No papa's unique, one and only" he replied with a strange conviction in his tone.

"Fine, where do we meet" I said. I knew he was right about me not socializing at all but it ain't entirely my fault, my emotionless face doesn't exactly make me seem friendly to approach.

" Really?, then meet me outside in ten minutes" he exclaimed.

And with that I cut the call, put on a set of casuals and went out.

It was still around 8am so the sun was still casting it's rising glow.

The moment I came out of the dorms building, my eyes landed on Owen to say I was shocked was an understatement because he wasn't the only one there.

With him were Lily Greatwoods, Emo dude, Victor Crimson, and Ashley Wellington the rank 3,4,5 and 6 respectively.

The moment Owen saw me, he waved me over. I walked over to his group with their eyes scanning me.

Owen took over the introductions when I got there.

"Hey Adam, you really came" he exclaimed.

"What, you were expecting me not to" I asked.

"Anyways" he said changing the topic, everyone this is Adam and Adam this is..... everyone.

"Ouch" he screamed in mock pain after getting a punch from Ashley.

" Be serious" she chided him before she turned to me and said " nice to meet you Mr Walker, I'm Ashley Wellington" she said with a crisp voice.

The others also introduced themselves " Lily Greatwoods" lily said with a bright smile, "Victor Crimson" the red eyed guy said with a disdainful expression and finally " Damien Ashbourne" emo dude also introduced himself while glaring at me of course.

"Adam Walker, and nice to meet you too" I said in an indeffrent tone. And this time it wasn't because of my declining emotions, but because I wanted to.

I could see it in their eyes, there was disdain deep in their eyes, well except for Owen it was the reason why I even entertained him in the first place.

You see scions of any clan or family, it has been ingrained in them since birth that they are superior to us the supposed "commoners".

There are only two people I know from the big families that are abnormal.

One is Owen he doesn't seem to have the disdain and superiority complex of the so called noble families heck even lily with the bright smile and bubbly personality still had disdain in her eyes when she looked at me.

Two is Aurora, her abnormality, she doesn't seem to have disdain but indifference to both commoners, scions and even instructors.

" Clap, now that the introductions are over let get on with it. We are starting with the mall" he exclaimed.

I didn't even know there was a mall in this school until now granted of all the buildings around the dorms I only know two, the portal station and the auditorium where the principal addressed us on the first day.

Oh I also knew there was a cafeteria around here as it wouldn't make sense otherwise.

We began our outing from the mall where I used my meager amount of points to buy some things that caught my eye.

We were having fun, correction they were having fun as I barely even talked except for Owen who speaks to me when he noticed I was being left out.

After the mall we went to a VR room. It was the place I really had fun as VR world felt just like the real world. We entered the VR pod which looked like a cylindrical bed with a glass helmet and cover.

You can use your bloodline abilities there and fight each other with no real damage in reality.

But I refrained from any fight cause it was the same as saying these are what my bloodline abilities are which was not very wise, but I will come back later under an alias, little did I know I would have a fight sooner than I expected.

Currently we were in a restaurant awaiting our orders when Owen said " is that who I think it is" pointing at a particular purple haired girl whose amethyst eyes fell on us the moment she felt our gaze before looking away.

"Hey do you know that Victor has a crush on her and last year the Ashbourne family proposed an engagement because Damien liked her but she rejected him with a single sentence". He said to me.

"She said and I quote, weak....he is too weak".

I could see the both of them glaring at him but I don't blame them she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen and even Ashley and Lily who were also infact extremely beautiful were not the same as her.

She was in a completely different league.

"What is that" lily said pointing at the sky. I instantly felt danger even before We all looked up just in time to see a blast of energy coming at us. In an instant we moved away and the blast hit right where we were a moment ago.

The attack might not have touched us but the shockwaves certainly did.
