Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5

The long-awaited day has finally arrived

Zevana Pramantara, with all the drama that accompanied her life, finally decided to accept Jay Mahendra Putra's proposal. However, what makes this story different is that it was not Jay who proposed to her, but Zevana who first expressed her decision.

A few weeks earlier, Zevana was desperate to contact Jay.

"I accept you as my husband, Jay. I'm ready to marry you," she said on the phone without further ado.

On the other end, Jay could only chuckle, both surprised and happy.

"I'm not dreaming, am I? Zevana Pramantara really said that she wants to be my wife?"

"Don't get your head up. I just don't want to bother you with my answer anymore," Zevana replied, though there was a slight tremor in her voice.

"Okay. Just set the date."

Meanwhile, Zevana burst into tears as she looked down at her stomach. There, was the life that was the result of her actions with Algha.

Wedding Day

Today, the back garden of the Mahendra family's magnificent villa was transformed into a wedding reception venue. All-white decorations, small chandeliers that create a romantic atmosphere, and soft acoustic music enhance this sacred moment.

Zevana was in the dressing room, looking at her reflection in the large mirror. Her white dress was simple but elegant, her hair in a simple bun. Although she looked calm, inwardly she felt uneasy.

"Ouch... I have heartburn," Zevana whispered to herself.

"You're so beautiful, Zev," praised Kiky, her old college friend. Although they had rarely communicated, Kiky's presence this time was an encouragement for Zevana.

"By the way, you look a bit fuller, huh? Your belly is a bit bulging, whereas it's usually flat," Kiky said casually.

DEG!

"Ah, not really... It's probably because I ate too much noodles and meat yesterday. Anyway, these few days I've only been eating and sleeping," Zevana replied hastily.

Kiky nodded, but there was a hint of suspicion in his mind.

"Never mind. What about this? I'm really nervous," Zevana said, trying to change the subject while doing her makeup.

"Jay will definitely be mesmerized by you today. Trust me," Kiky teased.

Zevana just smiled a little. Every now and then she glanced at her slightly bulging belly.

Meanwhile, in another room

Jay was getting ready with his brother Victor.

"Sis, are you sure this marriage won't make you regret it?" asked Victor while helping Jay tie his tie.

Jay chuckled. "If there's anything I'll regret, I'll find a way not to regret it."

Victor shrugged. "Well, I hope you're really ready. I'm still enjoying the free life as a high schooler, hahaha."

"Yeah, but don't just cause trouble with your motorcycle gang," Jay retorted.

"Geez, it's called being a boy. If you don't make a little mess, you're not a man," Victor joked.

Elsewhere

Zidan, Zevana's younger brother, had just arrived with some of his friends. As soon as he found out that Victor was also present at this event, his face immediately changed.

"Seriously? Victor is here?" asked Zidan in an annoyed tone.

"Yes, he seems to be your sister's future husband's family," his friend replied.

Zidan snorted angrily. "What kind of nightmare is this?"

He chose to quickly enter the room, avoiding eye contact with Victor.

After the Wedding

The invited guests began to enjoy the dishes that had been served.

Meanwhile, Zidan couldn't resist seeing his brother. He pulled Zevana to the corner of the garden.

"Brother Zev, is this serious? You're marrying into my enemy's family?" he asked in a half-emotional tone.

Zevana sighed. "You think I know? I wasn't curious enough to ask about Jay's family. I also only found out Victor was his brother at the proposal."

Victor, who saw Zidan talking to Zevana, came closer. "Zidan, I never thought we would become a family. The world is this small, isn't it?"

Zidan immediately looked away. "I don't want you to be part of my family."

Victor chuckled. "You think I would? But like it or not, we're sisters-in-law now."

Jay, who had been chatting with another guest, finally came over. "Hey, what's going on? Don't start drama on my wedding day."

Victor, reluctant to provoke a scene, chose to leave. "Take it easy, I'll go," he said as he tapped Zidan on the shoulder, which made Zidan's temper rise even more.

Zidan grumbled. "I can't believe you're now officially part of this family."

"Let's face it," Victor replied with a grin.

Zevana rubbed Zidan's arm, trying to calm him down. "Listen, Dan. Enemies don't always stay enemies. Sometimes, life gives you surprises like this."

Zidan still made an annoyed face, but finally gave a small nod. "All right. But don't expect me to be at peace with a creature like you."

"Trust me, I don't expect that either," Victor replied as he left.

Nighttime, in a Lonely Garden

The party was still going on, but Zevana and Jay finally had some alone time.

"How does it feel to be my wife now?" asked Jay as he took Zevana's hand.

Zevana shrugged. "Nothing has changed yet. But I'm glad it's over."

Jay looked at her with a small smile. "I know this hasn't been easy for you. But I promise, I'll always be there for you."

Zevana was silent for a moment before nodding slowly. "We'll see, Jay. I hope you never regret marrying me."

"Trust me, sweetheart. I won't regret it. Underline my words."

DEG!

Zevana's heart stopped for a moment. "Will he really have no regrets? What if he finds out one day that I'm unchaste and pregnant?"

"By the way, are you ready for tonight to be our first night?" Jay asked while looking at Zevana.

FIRST NIGHT?!

Zevana was surprised.

"Yes. Why do you look so surprised? It's okay if you're not ready, I won't force you," Jay said gently.

"That's not the case... It's not the first night. It's my second night because I've done it before with Algha. It may be a first night for Jay, but not for me."

Zevana clutched her dress tightly. The cold night air was chilling her to the bone.
