Chapter 13: The Wheel of Fate and the First Mission

After standing before the colossal wheel of fate, an unfamiliar voice echoed in his mind. It informed him that this very wheel would determine his next destination – the world where he would carry out missions for the God of Chaos.

Unlike his spatial rift ability, which allowed him to stay in a world indefinitely, the wheel of fate had its limitations. Upon completing a mission or reaching the designated time limit, he would be forcibly ejected from the world and returned to the chaotic paradise.

"Supreme Bishop," he pleaded, "I beseech you to start the wheel of fate. By the will of God, I shall fulfill the assigned task."

As soon as the words left his lips, the voice responded, affirming that his request would be granted. Instantly, the wheel of fate began to spin furiously, displaying names like Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, Boku no Hero, and, to his astonishment, he swore he glimpsed Boku no Pico for a fleeting moment.

As the wheel gradually slowed, Renji realized that his destination and mission would be determined between Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou and Devouring Stars, a novel he had devoured in his previous life. Honestly, he yearned to be sent to the latter world, where he could indulge in consuming its extraordinary creatures.

While the wheel didn't land on his most preferred choice, the world of Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou was still an enticing prospect. He prayed to the God of Chaos that his mission would involve eliminating the protagonist. If he could devour the protagonist, his powers would be so immense that they would shatter any existing power scale.

And there's also the protagonist's friend, who was born with the destiny of a Hero! Devouring him would help him a lot on his future journeys.

Unfortunately, but not so bad. The mission he was given was to sabotage the protagonist's relationship with the heroines, doing everything to make it even more complicated than in the original timeline and to kill Miwa Hiroshi after the protagonist's first class, where he would recommend him to be the class representative.

Making everyone think that it was the protagonist who killed him. Since this was his first mission, he has also revealed the main bonus mission of that world, to manipulate Etou Fujiko to "guide" the protagonist more and more toward the path of evil.

So that he could carry out his mission, the wheel of fate, created by God's right hand, gave him a new identity in the world of destiny. Since his goal is to sabotage and kill the protagonist's future friend, he would receive the identity of a transfer student entering the school on the same day.

-------------------

With the instructions complete, his body became intangible, resembling a mist that was promptly sucked into a portal. He traveled rapidly through a channel of energy, its colors so numerous he couldn't name most of them.

Due to the surreal environment, he couldn't tell if his journey to the world of Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou lasted mere seconds or days. When pulled by an immense force toward a distant destination, one loses all sense of time, and their vision is filled with a kaleidoscope of colors.

As his body passed through a membrane, a flood of knowledge about his new identity washed over him. Quickly formulating a plan, Renji felt the forces acting upon him gradually diminish. Before they completely vanished, with a snap, he found himself at the magical train station from the beginning of the anime.

Without a moment to spare, he released a purple mist from the soles of his feet. It transformed into tiny insects that scattered throughout the station, searching for its target.

Spotting her quickly, Renji positioned himself on the stairs she would use. According to the plot, her suitcase would mysteriously open, and the protagonist, Sai Akuto, would assist her. Afterward, her granddaughter would mistakenly accuse him of theft, attacking him with a flying kick.

As expected, the plot unfolded supernaturally. The tightly closed suitcase opened on its own. Seizing the opportunity, he took the protagonist's place, offering her assistance.

"Out of the corner of his eye, Renji saw the protagonist innocently pass by the blue-haired heroine, Hatori Junko, who would become very important to him. For a moment, she paused, her gaze fixed on him as if drawn to something about him.

But upon hearing her grandmother's voice, she shouted and leaped, aiming to strike Renji, whom she had mistaken for a thief trying to rob her grandmother.

As she jumped from the stairs toward Renji, the protagonist, Sai Akuto, felt a pang of discomfort in his chest. He stopped and watched as Hatori Junko's heel was grabbed, and she was gently placed on the ground as if she were a child.

Despite the unease in his heart, Sai Akuto continued walking, his instincts urging him to stay away. This warning intensified when he met Renji's gaze.

"Calm down, young lady. I'm simply helping this elderly woman," Renji said after glancing at the protagonist for a moment, eager to see his reaction to the disruption of his first interaction with one of his heroines. However, based on the protagonist's reaction, Renji concluded that although Hatori Junko had been very important to him in the original timeline, she wasn't his primary love interest, and so he felt only mild discomfort.

After the misunderstanding was cleared up and Hatori Junko's grandmother confirmed that Renji had only been helping her, just as it had happened in the original timeline, they walked together to the boarding area. She apologized for misjudging him.

Boarding the same magical train as the protagonist, Renji engaged Hatori Junko in conversation, aiming to prevent the protagonist from getting too close. He was well aware of the absurd situations that could arise if he were to let them interact even for a moment.

When dealing with a protagonist blessed with such perverted luck, one must be extremely cautious. Even a simple act, like the heroine trying to pick up something that fell, could trigger a perverted event, ultimately leading the heroine into his clutches.
