Chapter 204: Planes and Netherans(1)
"You have seen it, right?" chipped in Kaleyx.
She finished scribbling on her paper and looked at him.
She then remarked, "Elemental Planes are all connected to this plane as I have said before. They are said to have their own share of life. They are two main inhabitants in these elemental planes; the elementals and the giants. The giants act as the guardians of these planes, while the elementals are the queens and kings of the realm."
Her gaze became unfocused as she thought of something.
Suddenly, she chuckled, "You do not want to meet them. They are an arrogant bunch, more so than the faes."
"Elementals?" curiously asked Jake.
"Yes. They are almost like giants, except they are made out of pure elemental energy. They are a sight for sore eyes, acting they own the place when they are just mere weak beings," insulted Kalyex.
Evidently, it seemed like she had a history with the elemental race.
The way she spoke sounded like it was not a good one. Possibly, she was treated badly by the elementals.
Jake didn't ask her about it.
Instead, he voiced out his doubts, "....mere weak beings?"
"No, not really. In this dimension, they are a peak powerhouse. However, to beings from other dimensions, they could be taken care of easily," explained Kaleyx.
Jake creased his forehead, "dimensions?"
Kaleyx was adding on to his long list of questions.
"I will get to that. Backed when I flowed to this dimension, I sought help from the elemental, but they refused to help…..Really ignorant, don't they know that helping a celestial would always benefit them?" Kaleyx rambled.
After a few more grumbles, she realized that she had deviated from the topic.
Hence, she quickly continued, "There are numerous elemental planes. First, there are the main-elemental planes; Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth."
"These planes are interconnected and at the center of each connection are planes called [Para-Elemental Planes]. Those planes embody a secondary element. In fact, all planes that are created from two or more original planes are [Para-Elemental Planes]," explained Kaleyx.
She threw the paper she drew on at Jake.
Catching it in the air, Jake looked at it.
Inscribed on it was a very complex diagram that made sense, a bit, to Jake.
He saw a big circle with four smaller circles linked to it. The smaller circles were positioned in the north, east, south, and west angles. This in turn made the diagram presentable, but that was not all...…
A small circle was drawn at the middle of the lines that connected each elemental plane to one another.
It made the diagram look messy…..a good kind of messy.
Looking at this, Jake understood that it was some kind of compass.
He focused on another set of very small circles drawn at the edges of the other planes.
As soon as he gazed at them, Kaleyx went on with her explanations, "They are called [Quasi-Elemental Planes]. They are a sort of plane formed at the border of another plane. If I were to give an example, the [Plane of Water], a main elemental plane, had a [Quasi-Elemental Plane] situation on its borders called the [Frost Plane]."
Jake saw the [Frost Plane] on the diagram.
Truly, it was positioned exactly as she said it was.
Suddenly, something clicked in his head and the diagram felt simple to him.
It felt perfect and he could feel the existence of planes closer to him than never before.
However, he had still not gotten his answer. The answer to the question that plagued him every night.
Taking a deep breath, he softly asked, "Is it possible for there to be a plane for Netherans?"
He remembered vividly the sight that haunted him once he entered the Weeping Town.
He found himself in another place. No one was beside him, despite someone actually being there.
Back then, his eyes throbbed as he suffocated under the stuffy [Nether Energy].
He understood that he was closer to death. As he kept listening to the horrendous song, his mind got cut to a million pieces.
It was only his sheer will that kept him from having a mental breakdown.
Luckily, his teammates were able to pull him out of the scene. They saved him.
That was not the only time that he saw something like that.
It was not the only time that he felt a plane far more horrific than his... a plane that could kill him without doing anything.
Even thinking of it made Jake hallucinate that he was suffocating once more.
As he tried hard to keep cool, his hands vibrated intensely and his eyes became unfocused.
Suddenly, an object hit him and he was thrown out of his self-induced hallucinations.
"Hmmm….I see, You bear the curse," mused Kaleyx.
She was the one that threw the object.
She observed Jake patiently as confided, "The famous quote that doesn't have an origin, "Look into the abyss and it shall look back at you"."
"I'm afraid it has looked back at you," teased Kaleyx.
Her facial features became firm as she concentrated, "The existence of a plane for netherans is real. I know this because I came from there. It is a new one that was possibly formed three or four hundred years ago. However, to understand this plane, one needs to know the origins of netherans."
"....and you know it?" Jake cocked his head at her.
If he was paying attention to all her words well, then she wasn't from this dimension.
So, how does she know about the race that affected this dimension?
"Contrary to what you think, the netherans were everywhere. The first dimension, the second dimension, and the third dimension. However, right now they are only in the first dimension, this dimension," mocked Kaleyx.
She looked at the ceiling of the room and laid her body back on the bed, "They are a race that lives to corrupt. On par with the devils and demons. The Netherans come from a place referred to as the…..Nether Realm!"
She looked at the ceiling of the room and laid her body back on the bed, "They are a race that lives to corrupt. On par with the devils and demons. The Netherans come from a place referred to as the…..Nether Realm!"
"A realm filth with the filthiest thing in the universe. Believe me, it is not some amusement park or a realm of vacation. The inhabitants in that realm could swallow a planet, flip a dimension, create an army with just their blood. They could perform feats that made them on par with Gods.…..they were capable of battling all sorts of cosmic races," Kaleyx spoke with a rare serious expression.
She bit her lips, drawing out blood, as she went on, "However, they are universal for one thing. That is their mission….their goal...their glorious purpose, which is to corrupt. They move from world to world, preying on them….consuming everything. Even when a world survives an encounter with them, they become corrupted…...just like this world"
"Hmmmm…. If they are that strong, this world would have been conquered long ago, wouldn't it?" asked Jake.
"Well, our world is also strong. Races like Celestials, Dragons, Phoenixes, and many more live here, but we lack the destructive capacity of the netherans. It wasn't a surprise that we were on the weaker side. However, that is a story for another day," Kaleyx said.
She seemed to have brushed off the feeling of nostalgia she felt.
"Anyways, back to the main topic, the plane of netherans is real. I know it because I have personally been there. Don't ask how," Kaleyx shut down any curious attempts from Jake.
Jake didn't utter a sound as he listened to Kaleyx.
The way she spoke with confidence told him she wasn't lying.
She looked at him and curved a smile, "Judging by your previous unusual actions, I would say you have also interacted with this realm. Hence, your desire to seek more information about it," guessed Kaleyx.
She scrutinized him and asked, "When was it?"
"The same day I met you. I had just entered the Weeping Town when my vision suddenly changed and I found myself on that plane. It was strange. I was still in the mundane plane, but also in the plane of netherans. I could feel the effect of the plane gnawing on my mind. It was too real to be fake," confessed Jake.
The incident was still fresh in his mind. He could say a million words about it and never stop.
"That is an overlapping of planes. This time it's an overlapping of the nether plane on the mundane plane. It causes what you refer to as the wicked season... However, it shouldn't evident enough for you to peek into it, even if you have that annoying special eye."
She went deep in thoughts, "If people with special perceptive abilities start to feel the nether plane, then I'm afraid this is more than an overlapping"
