Chapter 201: The World of Clouds
"I guess this is it, huh?" a voice asked Jake
It was Kaleyx.
In front of the two of them was another large building, but this time it wasn't the bounty hall.
This one was much more taller, possessing more than five floors.
"It seems so…..," Jake trailed.
He checked the map again to ascertain if he was at the right place.
"Yes, this is the place, Xoco Hotel," confirmed Jake.
The duo then went into the building to meet the hotel's receptionist.
Upon seeing new customers, the receptionist spoke warmly, "Hi, my name is Aya. How can I help you?"
"We are here to book a room," answered Jake.
"Oh, a room. What type of room do you want?" asked a jovial Aya.
Her eyes fluttered around the two of them and an innocent giggle escaped her lips.
Jake and Kaleyx surely heard that, but they pretended not to.
With a straight face, Jake said, "A double room…..with two beds."
The subsequent ginger smile on Aya's face reminded Jake of a certain person.
Aya coughed when she realized that her expressions weren't unnoticed, "Is that all? No specifications."
Knowing that the duo didn't understand what she was saying, Aya pointed at a slip on her desk.
Kaleyx picked it up and passed it to Jake, but not before speed-reading it.
On the slips were the many services that the hotel performed. Some of them defaulted, while the best ones weren't.
Of course, those types would increase the cost of the room.
However, money wasn't an issue to Jake.
Instead of worrying about a non-existent issue, he preferred to enjoy his stay.
Kaleyx also felt the same way.
"We will have an [Energy Gathering Array] installed. The beds should also come with a [Conditioning Array]. Our meals should be the deluxe package, made with materials from demonic beasts. The room, itself, should be the best of the best," softly declared Jake.
Kaleyx interjected, "Also arrange for a craftsman, preferably an armor maker, to meet us tomorrow afternoon. Subscribe us to your daily news. Oh, also, the room must be soundproof."
Aya quickly became overwhelmed by the endless amount of requests, "O--Ohhh, okay."
She dived her head into her recording book to calculate the cost of everything.
After minutes, she looked at the duo and smiled, "It will be thirty gold coins for one day. How many days do you plan to stay?"
"A week, but we might leave before that," informed Jake.
"Oh, for the free-departure plan, you will pay an additional amount of ten gold coins. Is that okay?" asked Aya.
She was immensely happy that she had brought a huge customer to her hotel.
If she lands this deal, she was bound to be promoted.
"Yes," replied Jake.
"Ok. So, the cost is two hundred and twenty gold(220) coins. If you leave before one week, you can check out here and you will be given back the money for the remaining days," smiled Aya.
Hearing the amount, Jake brought out just the right amount from his [Spatial Ring].
He paid off the room.
She called the other staff to lead the duo to their room.
"Ok. So, your room is xxxxx. These are your room cards. Seeing that it is a double room, I made two cards. Feel free to call us if you have any problems. Have a great day," Aya warmly sent them off.
.........…
Three minutes later, the duo was led to their door front.
They opened to door to see a beautiful room that was far more beautiful than the inn room they stayed at last time.
Immediately, Kaleyx jumped on the nearest bed, claiming it.
Jake took his time to scout every part of the room before settling on the other bed.
"Ahhh, this is so comfortable," Kaleyx moaned as she lightly bounced on the bed.
She laid her head on the bed's pillow and closed her eyes.
"Finally, we get to rest," muttered Kaleyx.
As cultivators, they rarely get tired, but after all that they have been through, he even slept like sleeping for a week.
He had to agree that the bed was comfortable, though.
As he got submerged in the world of clouds, Jake managed to mutter, "We need to plan--"
However, he was shot down by Kaleyx's semi-sleepy voice, "No plan. Let's sleep. There is always tomorrow."
"True," agreed Jake.
That was all he needed. So, he fully surrendered himself to the fluffy cool clouds and sleep took over him.
A pure sleep. No dreams. Just him floating in the starry space on a blue cloud.
............
The next day.
As the cool sun shined into the room, Jake didn't wake up.
He was completely captivated by his sleep.
Thirty minutes, he was awakened by a loud noise.
'What is that?' he opened his eyes, alert.
His vision caught the zoomed-in appearance of Kaleyx as she placed her face in front of him.
"What is it?" hissed Jake.
"You are finally awake. Breakfast is on the table. I'm going out to buy supplies for us. You going with me?" asked Kaleyx.
Jake noticed that she was all dressed up.
"No," retorted Jake.
He still planned on sleeping.
"Hmmm….that's a shame," mused Kaleyx.
She brought her hands forwards and motion, "Alright, coins."
Jake grudgingly brought out a thousand gold coins and gave them to her.
Perhaps, he should be more careful with his coins.
"I'm going. I will be back in the afternoon," Kaleyx trodded out of the room.
As soon as she left, Jake laid his head back on his pillow and simply left.
He woke three hours later and proceeded to take his bath.
Soaking in his bathtub, Jake thought about how to spend the day, but his brain couldn't process as he was still sleepy.
He took twenty minutes to recalibrate and another ten minutes to finish up his washing.
When he came out of the bath, his eyes were sharper and his actions more intricate.
He was ready for the day!
