Chapter 185: Do you what they are?
He had always expected this. The survival of his alter-ego, Khaos!
If he took a trip down memory lane, he would understand that he was Khaos and Khaos was him.
He couldn't destroy himself when the base for his body was based on himself.
As confusing as it sounded, there wasn't a Jake without Khaos and vice versa. When Jake envisioned the recreation of himself, Khaos came along!
Turning his head in a calm manner, Jake met face to face with Khaos, "After all this time…..why now?"
He looked no different from Jake, just appeared wilder with the looks.
"I have been here for a long time. You just didn't notice," laughed Khaos.
The earth rose up to form a chair from where he stood, and Khaos sat on it comfortably.
'So, he holds power in my mindscape,' sighed Jake.
This was also expected.
Jake also flexed his power. With his pure will, he summoned a chair from the earthen rock he stood on.
After sitting on it, he faced his long-time alter-ego, Khaos!
"I have been waiting for you," divulged Khaos with his usual smile hung over his mouth.
"Why?" queried Jake.
He found it hard to believe that Khaos would actually wait. The latter had never waited in his entire life. He preferred a more 'fun' approach.
This was someone who had jumped out of a building in his previous world just because he couldn't wait for an elevator.
The wildest person he had ever known. And yet, he says he was waiting.
Receiving Jake's hard stare, Khaos chuckled, "Is it that hard to believe?"
"Yes," softly chipped in Jake.
Another point that made Khaos lose his credibility was the fact that when in their previous world, Khaos had always tried to take control of his body.
'There has to be a reason why he wasn't doing so now,' smiled Jake.
His unimpressed stare made Khaos spill the beans, "Alright, alright, there is no use in trying to escape this mindscape."
"You can't escape?"
"I can't," sighed Khaos.
The dimmed twinkle in his eye made Jake understand that he has changed. It was conceivable. If even Jake could change then Khaos was not spared from this change.
*Boom!* *Boom!*
Exploding sounds drowned Jake's thoughts.
He removed his gaze from Khaos and focusing on a nearby floating rock that spontaneously exploded.
'Hmmm….what is that?' he thought.
At the corner of his eye, he managed to catch another spontaneous rock explosion.
There was no rhythm to it, just a wide chain of explosions, even the rocks near Jake's rocks were not spared.
Amidst the explosions, Khaos appeared next to Jake and chuckled, "This is what you are looking for. Interesting, right?"
"What exactly is the cause?" asked Jake.
Each of the floating rocks carried fragments of himself. Each door on the rocks revealed something about him, or rather, directly represented him.
Now that they were exploding, he could feel a part of himself breaking apart.
Suddenly, the explosions stopped, but Jake could still hear noises in the background. It was the distant sound of explosions, but Jake didn't think it was one.
It felt rather like the sounds of a battle.
He had no idea what to make of it.
Was there something he could see?!
Khaos rose up from his seat and flew away from the floating rock, saying, "Follow me."
Without thinking, Jake followed him.
Having been in the mindscape for a long time, Khaos had better understanding than him.
After a while of flying past many rocks, Jake and Khaos landed on a particularly large rock, the size of a regular city.
They speed to the door on the rock. It was painted red, which clearly didn't mean anything good.
Jake had also noticed that another rock beside it, with a similar size, had the same red door.
However, he had no time for that one.
Inching closer to the huge red door, Jake suddenly felt a wave of mortality swept through him. It wasn't a pressure generated from an aura, but a feeling coming from himself…...a sincere feeling!
Perhaps it was because of the humongous size of the door, but he could barely firmly stamp his feet on the ground.
It was the same for Khaos.
Jake thought, 'What is this now?'
He managed to reach a sizable distance to the door and realized something he couldn't see before.
*Boom!* *Boom!*
The door was slightly open!!
Not just that, the muffled sounds he had been hearing since originated from the other side of the door!
Jake's curiosity got the better part as he found himself placing his hand on the door.
"Don't open it!" shouted Khaos.
Jake looked back to see the frozen eyes of Khaos trembling. He had no idea that Khaos could make such an expression.
Hence, he cautiously removed his hand from the door.
"What is in there?" he softly asked.
"Take a look," offered Khaos, who had already calmed himself.
He allowed Jake to take a peek at the door.
Of course, Jake was slightly cautious when doing so.
The young man made sure to be prepared as he dug his neck at the open space in the door.
*Boom!*
It was unknown what he saw, but in the next moment, huge energy blasted Jake away from his position.
Jake flew past multiple rocks until his face planted on the surface of one of them.
"Perfect, hahaha, " boisterously laughed Khaos.
As Jake ejected himself from the surface, he sighed at his foolishness, 'What did I expect from him?'
However, the thought was only brief and was later overcome by a look of concentration.
".....So...what did you see?" teased Khaos.
He had also peaked through the gap and knew everything, but he wanted to hear it from Jake's mouth.
"N--Nothing," sighed Jake.
He explained further, "I couldn't see. It was dark….."
"But...….," Khaos interrupted.
There was always a but.
"--But I saw two lights clashing against each other. The origin of the sounds. Two lights. One, silver-blue. The other, pure blue!" recounted Jake.
"Do you know what they are?" guided Khaos.
"Yes….they are my bloodlines!" sighed Jake.
His words echoed around as another floating rock exploded!
