Secretly Mine

Chapter 216: Breakout (1)[Christian POV]

After the footsteps and sounds disappeared, I walked back over to one of the empty cells to see what I would need to get it open.

"It seems like the key to these is universal. If I could get my hands on the key, that would be for the best."

But getting the key was easier said than done. It wasn't like the key was just lying on the ground in front of me.

I looked around, trying to come up with ways to get one. The only place I knew where I could get a key was from the guards who came down here periodically to get the others out.

But there was a small issue. There were four of them and one of me. I didn't have any weapons on me, and I wasn't sure if I could single-handedly take on four grown and trained men alone, especially not in the state my body was in.

Maybe I can find something to use as a weapon down here.

I took a few steps back, noticing the door from earlier. If I were to find anything helpful, it was most likely going to be in there.

With light steps, I walked over to the old wooden door. Before entering, I pressed my ear to the door and listened for any movement.

Good, it doesn't sound like anyone is inside.

After confirming that there wasn't any sound coming from the other side, I quickly opened the door and peered inside.

As soon as I looked inside, I realized that this room was. This was the medical room where the masked doctor injected me last time I was down here.

It was a small room with cabinets full of vials and serums all around the room. In the center was an old wooden table that had a variety of random medical supplies like bandages and pills.

I took a walk around the room, making sure that it was all caught on my small recording device. It was only when I made it to a small cabinet on the far side of the room that I paused slightly. Inside was an entire row of prefilled syringes with the same serum that I was injected with.

My eyes lit up.

I slipped a handful of the syringes into my pocket and walked over to one of the wooden stools to see if I could break a leg off. Thankfully, the stool was old and already had signs of wear and tear, so the leg came off very easily.

"Okay, let's see if we can get that key."

I left the small room and emerged back into the hallway. It was still empty with no signs of people. Using the remaining time before the guards returned, I walked further down the hall to see if I could find a better hiding spot.

If I could use the element of surprise, I would have a better chance of succeeding. The only problem was that if this person were expected on stage, another team of guards would arrive shortly after. I had to move fast.

As I walked past the third and fourth arch, I finally noticed people inside the holding cells. Most of them were cowering in the corners of the cell, too afraid to even look over at me as I walked by.

This was a good sign, however. I was originally worried that they would all look like the ones I've seen on stage-- lifeless and void.

I walked over to the first cell.

"Hey! Can you hear me?" I whispered loudly.

All four people in that cell turned to look at me. Their eyes widened as they looked at me.

The only male in the cell turned and nodded, "Yes. We can hear you," he replied cautiously.

I nodded, "Listen. I'm going to try and get you out of here. I need all of you to be ready. When they come back again, I'm going to try and take the key from them. We will only have a few minutes before the others are alerted, so you all need to be ready to run out of here."

The man's eyes nearly bulged out of his skull. "Are you saying the truth?"

I quickly nodded, looking at the other nearby cells. "Yes, I'm serious. But there's very little time. Everyone, get ready. As soon as I open the doors, you need to run that way," I instructed, pointing my finger towards the direction I came from originally.

As I looked into each of the cells, at least one person inside nodded back at me.

"Good. If someone close to you needs help, figure out a way to carry them," I said, noticing a few people who still looked either drowsy or not fully conscious.

Just as I got their confirmation, I suddenly heard the sounds of footsteps approaching.

I placed my finger up to my lips, signaling to everyone to remain silent, and hid behind the stone arch.

"How many more showings do we have left? I want to go home and eat a burger." One of the guards groaned as they approached the cell in front of me.

"Should me only two more. Just hold on a little longer, and you can have that burger, haha!" the other guard laughed, pulling out his set of keys.

I waited behind the arch while holding my breath. Any little sound would easily give me away, so I didn't move a single muscle.

Like last time, it was a group of four, and luckily for me, they all looked tired or bored.

"Okay, let's get this next one out. It should be the bitch in the cell right over here."

"I hope she's hot," the other guard smirked.

The group walked closer and closer, until they were directly in front of me. They paused and turned to face the holding cell in front of me.

Perfect.

They were all right in front of me with their backs facing me. I was originally planning on trying to knock them out with the wooden leg of the stool, but instead, I pulled out four syringes from my pocket.

The moment the guard with the keys unlocked the cell, I stepped over and jabbed each of the guards with a syringe, pushing all of the serum directly into their necks.

"What!?"
