Second Shot at Life

Chapter 10: Unexpected Success and New Beginnings

Jay woke up in the present time, feeling slightly disoriented as new memories began to flood his mind. It seemed he had gotten closer to Riya, and she was now his friend. This revelation filled him with excitement. He couldn't wait to see how much return he had made on his investment in the dreamland.

Without wasting a moment, Jay rushed to his mom and asked about their stocks. To his surprise, she had completely forgotten that they had invested in stocks.

Jay (eagerly): "Mom, do you remember the stocks we invested in? How much are they worth now?"

Mom (confused): "Stocks? Oh, Jay, I forgot all about that."

Undeterred, Jay called his dad, hoping he would have better luck.

Jay (on the phone): "Dad, can you check how much money we have in the stocks now?"

His dad sounded puzzled but agreed to check. After a few minutes, his dad's voice returned, filled with astonishment.

Dad: "Jay, you won't believe this. We're millionaires! The stocks have skyrocketed."

Jay felt a surge of elation. The dreamland investments had paid off beyond his wildest dreams. Wanting to share his joy, he decided to meet Aman, his best friend, to hang out and celebrate their newfound happiness.

At the park, Jay found Aman waiting for him.

Aman: "Hey bro, you look like you've just won the lottery!"

Jay grinned, unable to contain his excitement.

Jay: "Guess what, bro? We did it! The stocks we invested in have made us millionaires!"

Aman's eyes widened in disbelief.

Aman: "No way! That's incredible, man!"

The two friends spent the morning enjoying their success, playing games, and talking about their plans for the future. They laughed until their sides hurt, shared dreams of luxury cars and vacation homes, and promised to always stick together, no matter what.

Aman: "So, what are you going to do with all that money?"

Jay's eyes sparkled with excitement.

Jay: "I'm going to help my family first, get a better house. "

Aman smirked.

Aman: "Ah, the real plan comes out! Good luck with that bro .But hey, since you're a millionaire now, how about throwing a party? You know, to celebrate your success!"

Jay chuckled, feeling the joy of the moment.

Jay: "Sure thing, bro. We'll have the biggest party ever!"

Aman, always ready for a good time, added with a grin.

Aman: "And don't forget to loan me some money, buddy. I've got a few things I'd like to buy."

Jay laughed, shaking his head.

Jay: "We'll see about that, bro. But first, let's just enjoy today."

Later that afternoon, Jay checked his phone and saw a message in the group chat reminding everyone about the college reunion party that evening. He had almost forgotten about it in all the excitement.

Jay (thinking): "Oh, right! The reunion is today. I better get ready."

As evening approached, Jay dressed up and headed to the venue. He hadn't seen many of his classmates since graduation, and he wondered how much everyone had changed. As he walked into the venue, he noticed groups of people chatting and laughing, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being ignored.

As Jay mingled, he felt eyes on him and sensed the quiet judgment from those around him. Conversations seemed to dwindle when he approached, and he could almost hear the whispers behind his back.

Classmate 1 (whispering): "Isn't that Jay? Heard he hasn't got a job yet."

Classmate 2 (whispering back): "Yeah, I wonder what he's been up to."

Jay knew it was better to stay silent than to show off and let others think whatever they wanted. He smiled politely and engaged in small talk, but his mind was elsewhere.

Jay (thinking): "Let them think what they want. I know what I've accomplished, and that's what matters."

When Jay returned home, his mind was already racing with new plans. He started thinking about how he could get even closer to Riya and maybe even become her boyfriend. He also prepared to convince his parents to invest in other stocks, ensuring their future financial success.

As the day went by, Jay continued to strategize, jotting down ideas and potential investments. His determination was unwavering, and he knew he had to make the most of every opportunity. He made a list of companies that seemed poised for explosive growth, ready to present his case to his parents once more.

That night, as Jay prepared for bed, he started thinking about the dream world. He had questions that needed answers, and he decided to confront the System about them.

Jay: "System, what's the next challenge? How do I level up? Will you give me more answers as I level up?"

The System's smirk was almost audible, its tone as sly as ever.

System (teasing): "Leveling up, huh? You're thinking like a gamer. Challenges will come, Jay, and how you handle them determines your progress."

Jay, undeterred, continued his questioning.

Jay: "Are there others like me who have a system?"

The System's reply was cryptic and evasive, leaving Jay more puzzled.

System: "That's for you to wonder about. Let's just say, you're not the only one with a unique path."

Jay felt a mix of curiosity and frustration. He needed more concrete answers.

The System gave a cryptic chuckle.

Jay was left pondering the implications, feeling the weight of the System's words.

Jay (thinking): "I have to plan carefully. Every move counts."

The System added one last enigmatic remark.

System: "You're not the only subject... oh, I meant user. You were chosen at random."

Jay's mind raced with possibilities and questions. He knew he had to be strategic and resourceful with his limited opportunities. As he lay in bed, he felt a mix of excitement and determination, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
